dog run

hey, 

i would like to do a dog like run

this means i would only use pokemon that looks like a dog

this includes: growlithe, houndour, elektrike, vulpix (i know it's a fox, but i'ts only halve game when i get access, unless i have luck with the mystery egg), snubull, evee (for type coverage), poochena, zorua and lillipup,furfrou and later in the game if i make it so far absol and riolu.

what should i use as my starter ( i'll use sandbox reborn to get the starter)

any tips for my run and are there other pokemons that i could use?

Well... Fennekin is a fox, foxes are technically Canine. Also, I don't think absol is really dog based. if anything it's more feline

well, absol is late game and would give some coverage

but i did forgot bout fennekin, so that would be my starter

looks good for the first gym

fennekin and poochyena, 

for the second liilipup and electrike

and then growlithe and snubull

 

so by the 3th gym i get a full team of 6 members

Will we get to make suggestions for the dog names? They could be named after pets of community members.

Iirc absol is based on a mythological Chinese animal that isn't really doglike (though the design is more catlike than anything else IMO). In terms of type coverage honestly you should do pretty good, even with the heavy team restrictions. Mightyena with Sucker Punch and Moxie is a great late game cleaner. 

 

EDIT: don't forget that smeargle is actually a dog too! It's actually based on a beagle
