Filthy Casual
We all know that Pokemon does its best to reflect the habitats and behaviors of the real world. In our world, animals fight each other for territory, food, or general dominance. We see this through many obvious rivalries, such as the Zangoose-Seviper rivalry, or the new Alolan Marowak-Mandibuzz. These rivalries help generate a unique sense of an ecosystem in the Pokemon world. However, those relationships are not what this topic is about. My question to you is this: if you could create a rivalry between two existing species of Pokemon who don't already compete against each other, who would they be? You can select multiple, but for me, it would have to be this: Spoiler Greninja vs Samurott This may seem like a strange choice, but it's based on history. Samurott is based off the samurai, a warrior who served the Emperor of feudal Japan. Greninja, however, is based off of a ninja no kidding, who worked for anyone who could pay their price. Needless to say, their ideas often ended in conflict. This also fits their different playstyles (if you assume they both have Torrent and are wild), as Greninja would be the fast one, preferring to stay in the shadows, while Samurott would try to knock it down with one strike of its shells. What are your rivalries you would love to see?
Damien
1 shiny EV trained modest female sylveon Greninja wins.
EndearingCharacterTrait
Aerodactyl vs. Archeops? Maybe this is a thing that happened back in the day, if they even existed contemporaneously (I'm not that well versed in Pokémon archeology)
