Special Rock Changing Colors

Hi! I just got to the point in the game where I beat the Pulse Abra (gotta love dat Sturdy Sawk with Counter XD) and I found Saphira where she gave me the Ruby Ring and Amethyst Pendant because why not give the player one half of the key to the greatest secret in the world? Anywho, some awesome music started and let's just say Saphira knows how to make an exit (and an entrance too, I suppose, cuz she kinda exploded the side of a mountain to get there but whatever...)

 

When she left, I did the only natural thing... followed her trail of destruction. So I went into the cave left from her awesome explosion entrance on the right of the screen and just found a room full of rocks. I saw one which obviously stood out among the others. This rock had a different shape and was changing colors from white to green. The thing was, the game didn't let me interact with it. So does it trigger an in-game event if I bring a certain item to it? Cuz it looks kinda special. I put a picture of the rock below (I think. Never really done this before ). Thanks so much for the help!

Without spoiling too much, yes you get something later on that lets you deal with the crystal. Just continue with the story and you'll get to it eventually. Try revisiting the area around the 9th gym
