Filthy Casual
Chapter 1: A Fresh New Start Yes, I'm doing a fun blind Spork run now. While waiting for E17 to update so I can continue my randomizer fresh, I'm going to do a bit of Spork. This run, however, is going to update very infrequently, so I apologize if it's not as consistent. However, this run is also going to be blind. I'm pretty excited to see what this game has to offer! We start off the game in a dream sequence. We are introduced to the world via a small Litwick, who explain that we traveled to this region with our sister on a vacation. Sleepyhead, huh? This gives me an idea for our MC's name! After choosing our name, it was time to choose our Pokemon. We got options from each family line in the series. While I wouldn't have had Ultra Beasts be starters, I love this idea! It makes the game as easy or as hard as you want it to be! As such, I decided to pick our first team member... Spoiler Krueger the Zangoose! It was a tossup between Zangoose and Kecleon (as I see no one use them), but I decided to go with Zangoose for viability reasons. After choosing our starter, we woke up next to our sister, who decided to test us with a battle! Spoiler Alright, I wonder what she has... ...that Buneary stands no chance, does it? After our victory, we were informed about the league. Apparently, this "Celios League" has 18 gyms with each gym leader having six Pokemon on their team. We decided to counter this by catching some more Pokemon. Spoiler Harley the Shellder! However, that wasn't all! We also found... NOT AGAIN! The fight wasn't even that hard. I confused Pheramosa with Harley (Shellder). After Pheramosa hurt itself once, Krueger (Zangoose) finished the job with Quick Attack. I honestly think it was a mistake putting Pheromosa before the first gym, but I'm thankful for it! After catching these two new team members, we decided to head into the library, where we found... ...what? Spoiler ...wait, WHAT?! Still, Vanillite proved to be a free KO... ...but Swirlix knocked out Bellatrix with a Fairy Wind (yes, I'm ashamed of myself, too). Krueger is able to avenge with a Quick Attack. Harley uses Supersonic on Lickitung. She then switches out for Krueger (Zangoose) after hitting Lickitung with a Tackle. Krueger easily finishes the job. WHO ARE YOU?! After that incident, we ran into another mysterious woman. She explained to us that she was that strange pink-haired girl's caretaker for the moment. However, after witnessing us battle, she knew we had some power. As such, she decided to test us in a battle! Spoiler HAHAHAHAHAHA I forget for a bit that Harley's SpDef is trash. She goes down without getting off a hit. Luckily, Pursuit decimates Gothita. Bellatrix finishes the job with Double Kick. Easy. After our victory, we decided to continue our way to the first gym. As we entered, we saw that the gym was... ...a house? Seriously, this was the normal type gym, and as such, it was only a house. I love that sense of self-awareness the game throws at us, as well, as the gym leader's name is Jim! I'm kind of sad his name wasn't Joe (average Joe), but hey, it's not a big deal. Still, it was time to fight! Spoiler The battle begins with Harley decimating Starly with a Skill Link Icicle Spear. Double Kick decimates Whismur. Poor Harley gets OHKOd. Krueger gets off a Fury Cutter and Quick Attack before going down. However, Girafarig's heath is low enough where the game is pretty much won. Why, you may ask? Well... OUT OF MY FACE! This is what I mean! I shouldn't have won that, but because I have an Ultra Beast, the gym became a joke! We received our first badge, along with Hidden Power! Next time, I'll be going for the second! My first impressions are overall very positive! While I'm not a fan of one particular Pokemon you can receive at this point, I love everything else. I think the music is more well implemented then that of Reborn, and I love how it runs on my computer (I have a Mac, and have experienced no lag so far). I'm looking forward to continuing this! FairFamily
Well good luck with Spork. This is game is a treat. I feel Pheromosa is fine. It's beast boost should net you a speed increase which is not great considering its excessive speed (unless you are lucky or manipulate EV's and get an attack or special attack boost). This thing is the text book definition of a glass canon with the focus on glass. Still like you said you choose your own difficulty. Either way have fun. Filthy Casual
Chapter 2: Krueger's Commanding Cha Cha After the defeat of Jim, Snooze decided to continue with his adventure. Along the way, he ran into his sister once more! Emily was excited for us winning our first gym badge. Without hesitation, she challenged us to a battle! Spoiler The battle begins with Harley going for an Icicle Spear, KOing Petilil with ease. Krueger dominates with Quick Attack. He is then able to outlast Vulpix to pick up the KO with Pursuit. I think you know how this ends... Our sister decided to inform us that there was a gym in the next town. Before we went off, however, we decided to catch another team member... Spoiler Shortcake the Hoppip! I also forgot to mention this from last episode: to go off of what @MeepAndMeh stated, I actually did end up catching an Espurr, as well. Unfortunately, I'm not going to use him, as I already used a Meowstic on Omicron. One of the first things we did when we entered the town was do a bit of exploring. We ended up walking into a school, where we found a lot of goodies, including the TM for Substitute. However, we also discovered that Snooze was not only a skilled Pokemon trainer, but a being so powerful he could ignore the laws of physics. Don't believe me? Check this out: Seriously, though, I hope that gets fixed soon. We also happened to find that there was a tournament there. Harley (Shellder) easily manhandled everyone there, allowing us to receive a prize... ...a marble? I'm wondering if these are collectibles used to unlock something... ...still, as we continued to explore, we found a rather flirtatious individual... She started to call us "cute", wanting to test our strength. As such, we took up her challenge! Spoiler The battle begins with Combee getting destroyed by an Icicle Spear. Bellatrix almost KOs Pikachu with Double Kick. However, she then goes down to a Volt Tackle, bringing down Pikachu with her. Shortcake gets off as much damage as she can before going down. Krueger sets up a Hone Claws, OHKOing with a critical Quick Attack. I'm liking these sprites so far. They're pretty creative! After her defeat, we decided to make our way into the cafe, where we found none other than the gym leader of the town, Ashley! Ashley happened to be this town's fire type leader, focusing on the art of dance. We decided to accept her challenge! Spoiler The battle begins with Harley trying to go for a Supersonic. That doesn't work, as she gets flinched. She is sacrificed. Krueger begins to set up some Hone Claws. Headbutt does massive damage, but he picks up the KO with Quick Attack. Krueger heals up with Darumaka misses its attack. Krueger picks up the KO, learning a new move: Slash. GET OUTA HERE SON! To summarize what happened: the only one who got off an attack after Krueger learned Slash was Oricorio, and it went for Featherdance. Poor Ashley stood no chance. Also, Ashley? I see what you did there, game... With our victory, we were going to head off to the next gym. However, we were instead told to go to the back room of the casino. As such, next time, we will see what is going on in that mysterious room! Current Team Spoiler

Filthy Casual
Chapter 3: A Devilish Pursuit As we were invading the casino, we decided to do a bit of training. This allowed us to receive our first evolution! Spoiler As we were invading the base, we learned a bit more about the agency. Their name, you may ask? Well... ...there's just a lot going on with their design. Overall, though, I don't mind. They're not blatant recolors like in Full Moon. In fact, even their admins are unique! This was Barker, the leader of this particular ring. It was time to stop him! Spoiler The battle begins with Shortcake going for Sleep Powder. This allows her to switch out with ease. Krueger is able to decimate Growlithe with a Slash. LOL! With that out of the way, Barker preceded to berate us, claiming we were fighting a battle we couldn't win. As he escaped the facility, we could see why... This is also the reason why I think Team Rocket is the best team (followed closely behind by Team Plasma). While every other evil team is trying to take over the world, or perform some anime-esque task, Team Rocket has already established themselves as a type of power. The fact that Team Portal gives me these vibes as well is extremely encouraging. Oh, I should mention this, shouldn't I? Apparently, Crolea works for Team Portal, wanting to keep an eye on them. She decided to test out our strength once more! Spoiler The battle begins with poor Shortcake getting blown away after almost knocking out the Stufful. LOL Krueger is able to KO with Pursuit. A Slash decimates Staryu. Icicle Spear decimates Onix. Harley is able to finish the job with another Icicle Spear. Easy. With the battle completed, we used this opportunity to catch another team member... Spoiler Tad the Poliwag! When he evolves, both Harley (Shellder) and Bellatrix (Pheromosa) are getting boxed. I don't like Cloyster too much, and Pheromosa is too good for this part of the game. Along the way to the next town, we discovered a new friend... ...kind of... She seemed too shy to say anything, unfortunately, but still, she'll be a recurring character. We also discovered... ...oh, no... Regardless, if there's one criticism I have so far, it's the environments. They feel extremely empty. Perhaps it's because the environments don't stand out too much from FireRed/LeafGreen, but it's a shame. Still, we eventually made it to the next town, where we ran into our sister! With her new Lopunny, she decided to take us on in a battle! Spoiler The battle begins with poor Tad being forced to switch out immediately. Shortcake is able to wall Petilil to death, picking up the KO with Fairy Wind. Tad combos with Rain Dance and Water Gun in order to KO Vulpix. Shortcake unfortunately is immediately one shot by Lopunny. LOL Krueger unfortunately gets hit by a critical Rain Dance boosted Aqua Tail (oops), getting KOd in the process. LOL GET OUTTA HERE Emily proceeded to explain to us that a gym leader was in this town. As we walked in, we noticed that... ...yeah, she's creepy, isn't she? Spoiler The battle begins with Shortcake putting Pumpkaboo to sleep with Sleep Powder that shouldn't work. Shortcake picks up the KO with Bullet Seed. Tad is fortunately able to put Sableye to sleep with a Hypnosis. He then switches out for Krueger (Zangoose). Krueger proceeds to use Hone Claws six times, decimating Sableye with Pursuit. Rotom gets blown away. Haunter attempts to use Sucker Punch, but that's as effective as you may think it would be... Because of Misdreavus's berry, she lives the Pursuit, going for Confuse Ray. I make a big play by switching out Krueger for Shortcake (Skiploom), preserving his health. Shortcake picks up a Bullet Seed KO. Shortcake goes for a Sleep Powder. It hits, allowing Krueger (Zangoose) to switch in safely. Krueger gets off one Pursuit before Mimikyu goes for a Curse. However, that's exactly what Krueger anticipates, as he then switches out Tad (Poliwag). Tad immediately switches out for Krueger. At this point, Mimikyu has three options: 1) Go for ineffective ghost moves. 2) Spam Curse, killing itself in the process. 3) Use Baby Doll Eyes, essentially giving up the match. As you can see, Mimikyu elected to go for option 3. Also, gross, Gina! After our victory, we received the TM for Shadow Ball (which is quite frankly way too early to receive it). Next time, we'll be- ...oh, right, I suppose we were interrupted by Emily once more. She explained to us that someone named Felicia was waiting for us in the woods. Next time, we will be meeting up with her there, as well as hopefully earn our next gym badge! Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted September 19, 2017 Global Mods Share Posted September 19, 2017 Hi! I haven't posted yet, but I've been keeping up with this and look forward to reading more in the future. To respond to some things so far: -I'm happy that people like the concept of being able to choose any (non-legendary) starter. It wasn't something that was in Spork originally, but after I remembered a conversation I had with someone where the idea was brought up, I remembered liking the sound of it and decided to do it. -Re "...oh, no...": the Mega Ring will not be available until episode 6. You're able to find mega stones, but not use them yet. XY and ORAS made them not appear until you actually obtained the Mega Ring even if you've already been to the places they're at, but I didn't see a point or need for that. -Pheromosa: the reason it's available at that specific time and place is because someone who knew about Spork since before it was being worked on suggested it and gave details for the event. I actually don't do the "it's too early for this Pokemon/item/TM" etc. thing when making Spork. While I do genuinely try my best to have Gym Leaders, rivals, etc. put up an appropriate fight with their movesets and items, Spork isn't necessarily intended to be difficult, and I don't necessarily believe that some Pokemon are inherently better than others in battle. -walking through the wall: thank you for mentioning that. I've fixed it now. The issue was that while the wall in the tileset was non-passable, the edges of the doors weren't, so the player could walk through the part of the wall near the doors. -Team Portal: they're another part of the game I'm glad people are enjoying. I won't spoil anything, but I will confirm that they aren't trying to take over the world. I'll also say that the leader and each admin have their own individual reasons for being a part of it (the specifics of which will be revealed in episodes 5 and 6). Alright, that's fair enough, then. I suppose I'm extremely lucky getting a Pheromosa with good attack EVs. Still, I'm going to box her, since I don't want the game to be too easy, but I see where you're coming from. 1 hour ago, CynTheSylveon said: -Team Portal: they're another part of the game I'm glad people are enjoying. You're getting me excited hearing these motivations! I appreciate that you took the Rocket route in making them more threatening rather than the comical Skull approach (as far as I know so far). Thanks for the feedback! I know I was harsh on Full Moon, so if I act like a jerk with Spork at any point, let me apologize ahead of time. I'll say this, though: so far, it's really fun! Filthy Casual
Chapter 4: Our Lord and Savior Our adventure began with us meeting up with Emily, allowing us to travel with her in the woods. As we walked in, we discovered a creature so powerful, so incredible, so mind-bogglingly awesome that it has the potential to be arguably the best in-game Pokemon in existence. Ladies and gentlemen, meet our fourth main party member, the Lord and Savior himself... Spoiler Lieutenant the Wobbuffet! Seriously, while people hate babying this guy, he's a monster if you can use him correctly. He's definitely my favorite psychic type, and he'll make an excellent edition to the team! We did a lot of exploring, until we ran into this mysterious figure. According to Agne, the forest's layout had been created by gym leaders, while one in particular, Isabelle, had a power so great it could bend reality itself. As such, they made this forest out of boredom. It's actually a neat concept. Eventually, we made it to Felicia. Before we could do that, however, we caught another box slave new team member... Spoiler Herbert the Pervert! Seriously, though, we ran into Felicia once more. As it turns out, she has a little sister of her own in Delicia, the strange pink haired woman who attacked us at the beginning of the game. To make matters more interesting, Felicia is one of the admins of Team Portal! As she met us, she expressed to Emily how it was also nice that she had a sister... ...wait, what? Wait a minute, no! I clearly picked male! That should at least say "Interesting coincidence that you have a sibling too!" Poor Snooze's confidence must be crushed! As revenge, Snooze decided to take it out on the two sisters! Spoiler The battle begins with Petilil getting blown away while Lieutenant gets hit by a Swift from Sylveon. Luckily, Our Lord and Savior comes prepared, hitting Sylveon with a Mirror Coat. Just look at how much damage this does! Domination! Needless to say, Lopunny KOs Sylveon. While Lopunny takes on Vanillite, easily winning, Lieutenant sets up a Safeguard. Lopunny is unfortunately brought down while Lieutenant gets hit by a Stomp. Lieutenant gets a Counter on Lickitung while Vulpix is brought to his knees by Meowstic. Unfortunately, Our Lord and Savior goes down to a Stomp. However, he manages to use a Destiny Bond, bringing Lickitung down with him. Azumarill misses the Aqua Tail! Poor Tad gets blown back. Shortcake puts Meowstic to sleep with Sleep Powder, allowing for Azumarill to focus on Slurpuff. Shortcake is healed, allowing for Azumarill to handle business. Finally, Shortcake finishes the job with a Bullet Seed. Easy. WHO?! WHAT?! WHY?! After our victory, we decided to explore a bit more across the area. Here is what we found... Spoiler First, we found another Mega Stone! Next, we found and trained another team member! Duracell is going to be an important asset to the- ...never mind, it looks like Duracell's going to get boxed! Meet the true fifth member of the team, Faye the Cutiefly! Finally, we not only discovered that Lieutenant (Wobbuffet) is Our Lord and Savior, but that Snooze is a descendant of Jesus Christ! Why, you may ask? Take a look at this: This also leads to a hidden marble! After our quick exploration, we decided to head south, where we found another new character... You know the drill by this point. She introduces herself, immediately challenging us to a battle! Spoiler The battle begins with... ...oh, no... Needless to say, while Krabby gets pelted by Bullet Seed, Flareon picks up the KO with the sun boosted Fire Fang. Faye manages to paralyze Flareon with a Stun Spore. Poor Faye gets blown away as Tad uses Rain Dance, getting rid of the sun. Krueger is sent out (LOL FORGOT TO HEAL), taking down Krabby while Flareon is hit with a Water Gun. Fortunately, with the rain up, Flareon is completely nerfed... OH FUCK ME! Despite this, Krueger and Tad are able to double team and take down the Flareon (with the use of healing items on Krueger). Krueger gets blown away by Floatzel, as Tad sustains serious damage from a Blizzard. At times like these, one would certainly need a savior... ...and fortunately, that's just what we have. While Tad dodges an Ice Fang, Our Lord and Savior Lieutenant is able to tank an Uproar from Rotom, allowing Mirror Coat to KO. The rain subsides. Poor Tad is taken down. With a couple Ice Fang Counters, the battle ends. Without Lieutenant, we lose that fight. Eventually, we made it to the next town, where we found the next gym. While we could take that on tomorrow, we needed to do some training first. As such, most of the team evolved! Spoiler Next time, we'll be taking on the grass gym for our next badge! Filthy Casual
Chapter 5: Spreading that Supa Hot Fire To be honest with you, I didn't plan for this LP to coincide with a version update, but I'm glad it did! I'm going to enjoy playing through this with everyone, especially since some of this could even be new to people who already played the game! Regardless, we made it inside the gym, where we met the gym leader. Arethra only had one request for us: that we don't destroy her flowers. With that being said, it was time to battle! Spoiler One thing about the gyms is that they have nice theme music, including the overworld and battle themes. However, one thing I would always want someone to do is try and give each gym leader a different theme. I say this coming off of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, but each boss had a different theme, allowing them to have a different identity. For Aretha in particular, I feel as if this theme fits her extremely well. I'll be adding my own suggestions over time, but it's just a minor thing I have (and that's just a thing I have with Pokemon in general, not necessarily this game). The battle begins with Faye blowing away Cherrim with Pollen Puff. Our Lord and Savior Lieutenant blows away Roserade with a Mirror Coat. Krueger almost KOs Gourgeist with a couple Pursuits. However, Gourgeist picks up a KO with Grass Knot. Faye is able to decimate. Poor Ludicolo doesn't stand a chance. Shortcake puts Tropius to sleep, switching out for Tad (Poliwhirl). Tad is able to paralyze Tropius with Body Slam before being brought down. This allows Lieutenant to set up a Destiny Bond, getting blown away by a Leaf Tornado before taking Tropius down with him. Draining Kiss blows Breloom away. That was a fun battle! With our new badge on hand, we triumphantly went down through a beach to the next city! There, we met up with Emily once more! Emily had told us that she defeated this town's gym leader. This gym leader was none other than Chelsea, the girl sitting right next to our sister! She told us she would challenge us if we defeated someone named "Cherry" in a battle. We had no choice but to comply. As we went in, we discovered... Meanwhile, I can imagine Cherry telling Snooze this... Spoiler Of course, Snooze was not about to take this disrespect. As such, we went into battle! Spoiler The battle begins with Shortcake getting the best of Crawdaunt with Bullet Seed. Krueger picks up the KO on Kricketune with Slash. Krueger picks up another KO with a critical hit Slash. Krueger gets in another Slash before he's KOd by Psybeam. Of course, Mirror Coat decimates Porygon. Snooze probably ended the battle by telling Cherry this: After our victory, we went back to Chelsea to challenge her. However, as we were doing that, we noticed something awful: Team Portal had invaded the BBC! As such, next time, we're going to stop them! Since there's a new update, my question for each of you is this: what did you name your characters, and what was your team at this point? I'd love to see how my team compares! FairFamily
Well my character was called Candina and the team consisted of a Gabite, Pheromosa, Torecat, Vespiquen and female meowstic. Though some changes in the roster were made relatively soon after.
Yagami
My character name is Niloy. My team was Gabite,Meowstic male,Torracat and a shiny unown(I was bored okay,it was at high level) at that moment. Filthy Casual
Chapter 6: "Water" Way to Go After a brief rest in the Pokemon center, it was time to continue the journey. We entered the station, only to find that it had been taken over by none other than Team Portal! Quinn decided to explain to us that Barker warned him ahead of time of Snooze's arrival. However, this wouldn't deter him. It was time for a fight! Spoiler The battle begins with Krueger decimating with Slash. Faye 2HKOs with Pollen Puff. Shortcake is easily able to handle Golduck with Bullet Seed. Poor Tad is OHKOd by a critical Air Slash, but not before landing a critical Body Slam himself. This allows Krueger to finish it off. Our Lord and Savior Lieutenant puts the battle away with a Mirror Coat. With another victory under our belts, we took this time to explore and catch some new team members before taking on the next gym. As such, meet the newest members of the team! Spoiler Of course, Pyuksalot isn't going to stay in the main party, as I already have Tad (Poliwhirl). Having said that, we did manage to find someone who could prove quite useful. Meet our sixth party member, Belmont the Sandygast! Finally, I found this in the back room: I wonder what it's for... After training our newest member, we decided to take on the next gym leader, who... ...dear god, here come the puns... Spoiler I feel as if a lot of water type gym leaders tend to be enjoyable, focusing on offense rather than defense. As such, perhaps this theme could fit, given how energetic it is. The battle begins with Shortcake walling poor Mantine to death. She goes for Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, and Bullet Seed. Upon level up, she learns Acrobatics. Jellicent is humiliated by Mirror Coat. The first of the three Bullet Seeds breaks Whiscash's berry, while the other two bring it down. Tad goes for Hypnosis in order to put Poliwrath to sleep. Body Slam is able to take it out. A few Pollen Puffs takes Brionne down. You know how this ends... Before we received our next badge, Chelsea proceeded to tell us about a strange species known as a "Star Person" (I think, I can't remember on the top of my head). Apparently, one of these people is the champion. Regardless, next time, we'll be continuing our quest! Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted September 22, 2017 Global Mods Share Posted September 22, 2017 The Toy Robot is for a sidequest in Aliora City (in one of the houses, specifically). The species are Sea Stars. Ceolis is the former Champion, but he retired. About the BCC: Team Portal didn't take it over; rather the BCC was a front for Team Portal from the beginning. Filthy Casual
Chapter 7: City Limits After defeating the water type gym leader, we went to an interesting Jurassic Park-esque theme park in order to stop a raging Tyrantrum. However, instead, we ran into this individual. This person, named Lime, told us that our sister had defeated the Tyrantrum, catching it in the process. Lime then gave us a Marble, challenging us to a battle! Spoiler The battle begins with Faye taking down Reuniclus with a couple Pollen Puffs. However, she sustains massive damage from Psyshock. Unfortunately, while Dazzling Gleam would be enough to take down Vibrava, it has a Focus Sash. Poor Faye goes down. Krueger easily finishes the job. Krueger proves why he was the correct starter to choose with Slash. Politoed prevents being KOd through the use of Perish Song. Shortcake proceeds to miss a majority of Sleep Powders, hitting the last one. She and Politoed are forced to switch out. However, I make a bad switch in. Shortcake (Jumpluff) is forced back out. She tanks a Giga Drain. A critical Acrobatics sends Meganium to the shadow realm. Tad is able to take out Politoed in its sleep. Easy. After our battle, Lime proceeded to tell us that there were three more mysterious trainers waiting to challenge us. However, we decided to head into the next town, where we were immediately given a request. This gym leader asked us to help him bust a sketchy vitamin selling business by the market. However, we didn't know where to begin looking. As such, we did a lot of exploring. This allowed us to buy 30 Ability Capsules (I'm glad I generally never spend money lol), as well as run into an old friend. Of course, there was only one thing to do: defeat her in a battle! Spoiler The battle begins with Faye getting blown away by Bewear, despite landing a Dazzling Gleam. Fortunately, one Acrobatics finishes the job. Belmont is able to tank Steelix with Sand Tomb and Bulldoze. Lieutenant decimates Starmie with Mirror Coat. Tad uses Hypnosis to incapacitate the Malamar, allowing for an easier KO. Krueger is able to win a close battle with Gothorita with Slash. After our battle, we asked Crolea if she knew anything about this mysterious drug ring. Fortunately for us, she knew a fair amount. She told us to find Delicia so we could discuss the matter further in private. However, before we could do that, we caught another party member! Spoiler Pom Pom the Plusle! Belmont (Sandygast) is now off the team. I really want a Pichu and see some in the park, but I haven't found one yet. However, when I find one, that Pichu is definitely going on the team. Kantonian Raichu is one of my all time favorites, after all! As a side note I forgot to bring up last time, I'm kind of sad that Belmont's (Sandygast) original nickname, Ghastlevania, didn't fit, but still, Belmont worked well enough. After catching our newest team member, we realized there was only one place Delicia could be... ...the candy store. Spoiler The battle begins with Tad tanking Vanillish's attacks, KOing with Body Slam. Faye almost KOs Alolan Exeggutor, forcing it to switch out. Faye is forced to switch. Shortcake walls Slurpuff to death. Krueger skillfully dodges a Gunk Shot, picking up the KO with a couple of Slashes. Faye finishes off Alolan Exeggutor with Dazzling Gleam. In her first battle, Pom Pom tries to get the paralysis with Discharge. However, she unfortunately doesn't get it, forcing her to switch out. ...yeah, this battle's over, isn't it? With her defeat, the two are now waiting for us in the... contest hall? Are we going to have contests?! Even if they don't, I appreciate the gen 3 reference! Still, next time, we'll be trying to get to the bottom of this, perhaps even earning a badge along the way! EDIT: I just saw on the home page that the contests weren't working yet. Still, the fact that they are possibly coming is awesome, especially since it references my favorite generation (I'm biased, okay?)! J-Awesome_One
If you want a Pichu, I know in the very 1st town you start the game in, if you check out all the EV spots in the hotel, I believe Pichu is in the Speed Room.
Filthy Casual
Chapter 8: Clash in the Courtroom Before we begin this episode, I would like to introduce to you a new team member I caught and trained offscreen. Spoiler Yes, this means Pom Pom (Plusle) is off the team. She didn't do anything, so it's ultimately no big loss. After our brief training montage, we went to see Crolea, where she explained the situation. Yes, it was two gym leaders who were leading this drug brigade. As such, we began to look for their secret entrance. However, while doing so, we stumbled across (and trained) yet another new team member... Spoiler ...and he really hates anyone named Sherlock! This means Shortcake (Jumpluff) is off the team. Whenever she used Leech Seed and Sleep Powder, my computer would lag (stupid Mac). Moriarty will help battles move more smoothly. It also helps that I like Cacturne's design. Eventually, we found the hideout, where we found... ...well... ...yes it was this universe's version of Batwoman. She proceeded to tell us that in order to make it to Damien, we would have to fight her first! Spoiler The battle begins with Crobat being blown away by a Counter. Emolga gets walled, dying to a Thunderbolt. Tad is able to survive an Acrobatics with one HP and land Hypnosis, allowing him to KO with Bubblebeam. A couple Slashes finishes Swoobat off. Faye is somehow able to outspeed Noivern and KO it with Dazzling Gleam. The team was honestly extremely clutch! After her defeat, we found none other than the two gym leaders in the back. Indeed, it was time to fight... ...or, they just give themselves up immediately. I'm not a huge fan of this, and I'm going to share a quote from Insurgence to show you why: "What a great life lesson. It's totally okay to make money doing horrendous things as long as you stop eventually." -Radio Tower Director, 2017 Clearly, the circumstances are quite different, but the message still applies. The two gym leaders pretty much get off without any punishment whatsoever. Still, this did allow for us to challenge Raymond for our next badge! Spoiler I had a bit of problems finding a good theme, as it's in a courthouse. Perhaps this theme could work? The battle begins with poor Moriarty getting blown away by a Brick Break. Luckily, Tad is able to KO with Bubblebeam. One critical Dazzling Gleam finishes Tyrantrum. Coltrane is able to KO Aerodactyl with Thunderbolt. FUCK I HATE CRADILY Faye is sent out to hit Cradily with a Bug Buzz. It almost brings it down. However, Cradily then switches out. Faye is switched out for Coltrane. Coltrane gets off a Thunderbolt before going down. Lieutenant KOs with Counter. LOL SCREW YOU CRADILY Counter finishes Carracosta off. Easy. With that battle done, next time, we'll be taking on Damien! Current Team Spoiler
Yagami
How is Tad landing so many hypnosis? I don't think any of my pokemon ever hit a move that has below 80% accuracy.
Filthy Casual
Chapter 9: Caught Off Guard Before we could move on to the next town, we still had a challenge to face. Indeed, it was time to fight for the dark type badge! Spoiler The battle begins with Coltrane tanking a Nasty Plot Snarl to KO with Thunderbolt. Our Lord and Savior Lieutenant finishes Krookodile with Counter. Krueger goes for Slash. However... I was wondering why that Honchkrow went for Night Daze... regardless, Krueger is KOd. Tad misses a Hypnosis, suffering the same fate. It's at this point I decide to try. YOU STAND NO CHANCE! Faye is a monster! After receiving our next badge, we decided to continue onward to the next town, where we finally ran into Emily once more! As a side note: you can completely skip this battle by entering the town by the gap closest to the topmost wall of the desert. I hope that gets fixed. Still, after challenging Emily from the right (as we were forced back into this position), it was time to fight! Spoiler Faye decimates with Pollen Puff. Coltrane paralyzes with Nuzzle, then KOing with a Thunderbolt. One Thunderbolt doesn't KO Azumarill. Coltrane goes down. Fortunately, a Body Slam (along with Sandstorm) finishes it off. Honestly, her team kind of sucks. It doesn't help that- ...oh, no... I WASN'T READY! Poor Moriarty gets blown away by a critical Head Smash. Faye goes for Dazzling Gleam. It doesn't KO. Faye gets decimated. A Bubblebeam from Tad doesn't KO either! Tad gets decimated by a Dragon Claw! Yeah, I played up that "her team sucks" thing for laughs. That Tyrantrum just brought the fight back! Still, Krueger picks up the KO. Counter finishes Lopunny. While Ninetales goes for Nasty Plot, Our Lord and Savior Lieutenant lays a trap with Destiny Bond. Ninetales falls for it. That Tyrantrum almost single-handedly won her that fight! Despite the intense battle, Emily congratulated us for our victory. She told us about a tour going on at a temple supposedly built to honor Regigigas. Before we went there, however, we did a bit more training. In fact, the last member of our team received an evolution! The team is now complete! Before any of you say it, I chose Poliwrath because I don't like Politoed. It's face creeps me out. Still, after Tad's evolution, we continued to the ruin, where we ran into an old friend! Jim informed us that he flew here on his Staraptor. At first, I thought that was just irrelevant dialogue, until he gave us this: YES! To celebrate, we engaged in a battle! Spoiler The battle begins with Coltrane decimating with Thunderbolt. One Counter decimates Stoutland. Our Lord and Savior lives the Sucker Punch on 1 HP, finishing Komala with a Counter. Coltrane is able to get off a Nuzzle and Thunderbolt before being KOd by Dizzy Punch. Lieutenant cheeses Kangaskhan with Destiny Bond. Krueger is able to utilize his newest move, X-Scissor, to finish Girafarig. While Exploud tries to go for Rest, Tad capitalizes on this with Wake-Up Slap. Easy. Before we decided to explore the region with Fly, Jim asked us a strange question... After a bit of thinking, I decided to answer this... Spoiler Generation 3 is my favorite, and Snooze's starter is a Zangoose. It also helps that Mega Lopunny first appeared in Hoenn (at least in the games). We were then told by Jim that a group of Tepig had been spotted in the first town, and someone was on the way to clear them out. As such, we needed a Fly slave to bring us there (as Jumpluff can't learn it). Because of this, let's say hello to the newest slave of the team... Spoiler CIA the Sigilyph! After catching our HM Slave, we headed back to the first town, where we found someone who ran the gym leader trainer's school. As such, we decided to help her clear out these Pokemon. To be honest, it wasn't even a fight. Krueger (Zangoose) decimated them all with Slash. Still, one of the Tepig decided to join us! Next time, we'll be heading into the next town! Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted September 23, 2017 Global Mods Share Posted September 23, 2017 Thanks for mentioning that the Emily battle in Weather Wonderland is skippable. I didn't know it was. I accidentally left some openings to walk through between the trees and I've fixed that now. About the vitamin situation: someone on Youtube (whose channel was taken down) said something similar, that it was anticlimactic. Personally, them facing no punishment is the way I prefer it to end, since that part of the story was basically formed from a "wow, vitamins are really expensive" thought I've had since Gen 3. I don't really consider what they were doing to be bad, just probably not the best way to be going about it. It was only really borderline illegal to begin with since selling products isn't against the law, otherwise there wouldn't be any vendors at all in the region and you could only buy from Pokemarts. The only real issue is that only the Department Store sells them (for money; the Battle Frontier offers them for BP), while the cheaper vitamins were also being sold in the same city, so it could hurt the Department Store's business. If this was happening in a city that wasn't Olidroll, there probably wouldn't even be an issue. I do have a different criticism of it, though: there was originally going to be more to it. I was going to show the court scene. I don't remember why I ended up not doing it, and I don't think I really have an excuse. On one hand I don't actually know from an eventing perspective how to have the game show a scene that doesn't involve the player (like the Grand Hall interrogation of the Meteor grunt in Reborn), but on the other, all it would take is just looking at an event like that in RPG Maker to figure it out. On one hand I don't know how court trials actually work, but on the other, I shouldn't need to worry about making it seem "realistic" in a world where creatures like Pokemon exist, and going even further, Spork is a world where death doesn't exist and the aging process stops physically around the 30s-40s, so it follows different rules than what players are familiar with. I could have a rule that in Spork, everyone has to wear a purple mask to court if I wanted to. The court scene is something I really should go back and add. My opinion of that part of the story is that I had a neat idea but the execution could've been a lot better.
Filthy Casual
@CynTheSylveon Now I just want to see Snooze in one of those purple masks! If we can do that in the future, can we choose what kind of mask we could wear? I know that's asking a lot, but I'd love to have him wear a silly mask (or maybe a Zangoose mask because Krueger lol). Seriously, though, I'd love to see your interpretation on the courthouse scene if you ever decide to go back and add on it.
