Conor
An Rmt on the Sun team i've been using. just let me know what you think. here it is at first glance Ninetales (F) @ Wide Lens Trait: Drought EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Nasty Plot - SolarBeam - Hypnosis - Fire Blast Obvious lead for any Sun team. wide lens for extra accuracy on hypnosis. nasty plot to bbost while they sleep. pick your move fire blast or solar beam. I was thinking about putting air ballon on instead but i cant make up my mind. Sawsbuck (Sawsbuck-Autumn) (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Chlorophyll EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Swords Dance - Horn Leech - Nature Power - Jump kick My favorite sun sweeper. speed boosted by chlorophyll, focus sash to survive while he uses swords dance. horn leech for stab/recovery. nature power for earthquake which takes out most fire pokemon except for like charizard and moltres. jump kick for filler, i sometimes throw in bouce it really depends how i feel when im editing the team. Espeon (F) @ (No Item) Trait: Magic Bounce EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Sunny Day - Psyshock - Grass Knot - Shadow Ball obviously with a sun team your going to have plenty of fire pokemon. what hurts fire pokemon a lot? Stealth rock. Stealth Rock completely kills sun teams. espeon here takes care of any kind of hazard with magic bounce. this also helps me a lot because i run a lot of focus sashes so stealth rocks and spikes are a no no. he also has sun support with sunny day in case of a weather war. psyshock for stab, shadow ball for other psychics, and grass knot for ground pokemon that seem to give me a huge problem. Blaziken (F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Speed Boost EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Hone Claws - Hi Jump Kick - Blaze Kick - Stone Edge my next sweeper blaziken wrecks a lot of shit. first turn hone claws for boosted accuracy and strength. i chose hone claws over swords dance because all 3 of his other moves have lower accuracy. hi jump kcik and blaze kick for stab. stone edge for flying and volcarona. Rotom (Rotom-H) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Levitate EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Overheat - Volt Switch - Trick - Hidden Power [Rock] Rotom H is a great volt switch pokemon in sun. he has overheat with stab and sun boost whioch can just KO most things no problem. hidden power rock to take care of volcarona, who seems to be my biggest threat right now. trick to stop set ups. Conkeldurr (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Guts EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Mach Punch - Bulk Up - Drain Punch - Stone Edge Conkeldurr is here mostly because i had no priority. I've never used him before but he kicks ass. even though ive given him 3 fighting moves, its abosolutley no problem. drain punch OHKO a lot of stuff with only one bulk up. mach punch for priority (even though it hits like a regular move). stone edge to take care fo ghosts/flying. Threats: Vocarona, BIGGEST THREAT TO THIS TEAM EVER. i dont even know how, he just wrecks my team. Okay so thats the team in a nut shell. let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions to help me improve this team it would be well appreciated. Noivy
Oooooooh something in my field of study... Ninetales. Uuuuh... I can tell you from experience that Solar Beam is not a good idea if you're running into other weathers, and heavily encourage Energy Ball as the alternative. Im weary about Fire Blast, primarily because I've had a fantastically nasty miss streak with it. I'd recommend Heat Wave instead. Better Acc, 100 base power, punishes the sneaky Triples and Doubles Challenges. Sawsbuck. I can tell you here and now that not having Return or Double Edge is going to spoil the fun on just how destrucktive Sawsbuck can be. STAB Double edge with a Life orb, complemented with Horn Leech is a really scary thing to combat. Espeon. I know that stealth rocks can be utterly destructive to sun teams, but in all honesty, I've had better luck running Cresselia, or even Umbreon because they provide AMAZING bulk/walling and can reliably heal with Moonlight. Without Calm Mind on Espeon, I really dont see it being useful at all :x Maybe reduce the SR Vulnerability by taking out a fire type. Conkledurr. Y U NO HAVE FIRE PUNCH! If this is a sun team, put Firepunch on it! It gets a hearty boost in sun, and combined with possible Iron FIst(?), can really lay the smackdown on most things. Not worth making a new post for this, but I'd imagine the lack of Fire Punch because the coverage is slightly redundant with Fighting STAB... That, or he just didn't know he could use Fire Punch. idklol ~Ikaru True. Fighting types automatchally beat things like steel and ice, which fire does away with as well. Stone edge for that flying weakness... Edited September 15, 2012 by Listar Iostone
Skwayz
Huh, what have you got to take incoming water move ? If you always send tales, he'll die way faster, so you loose the weather war way quicklier. Why Sawsbuck ? He's cooln everything, but you don't really need him as you've got ken/conkeldurr. Venu or victribell should fit here. Volcarona is a threat to all sun team, but heatran would fit well here, as he check volcarona if it doesn't run HP ground. Try a sdefensive set, like toxic/lava plume/roar/SR. So, -Rotom-H --> Specially defensive Tran. -Sawsbuck --> Venusaur or Victribell.
