TamarJaeger
Greetings Reborner (yes, that's a word now), I have recently decided to get back into this game. I've played Reborn before, like 2 years ago (it was still E15). I don't have my old files anymore since new computer. The last thing I remember was beating the ice gym (I think it's Serra), but I sill consider myself a Reborn newby espacially after trying to get back into the game and reading some forum threads. I've tried out some starters in the early game these past days and trying to build some teams using the Monotype Availability Forum Thread , but I just can't find a team I find good and would like some suggestions and opinions from you guys. First of all: I tried starting again with E16, but I totally disliked the music changes, so I got E15 again and am using it. Did E16 change anything major for the E1-15 part of the game - should I switch to E16 or can I play E15 until the end and then switch to E16? NOTE: For my team I've tried to buil; I only planned until the "Aya to Serra" tab in the monotype thread as I've been there before. For the starter I ended up going with Protean Froakie. Slot 1: Greninja (Protean - Timid or Modest) - Should be a solid pick, even if the strongest Water STAB is Water pulse for a long time. Not sure which Nature, he should be fast enough for Modest I think, not sure how the Bosses/Leaders are past the ice gym. Slot 2: Hariyama (Sheer Force - Adamant) - I only have good memories of Hariyama in my old file, although I think I should replace him sometime after Serra I think. Slot 3: Camerupt (Solid Rock - Modest or Neutral Nature) - Not sure about the natures as his fire moves are special while he also gets earthquake and rock slide which are physical :/ Slot 4: Gardevoir (Telepathy - Timid) - Psychic and Fairy coverage, will replace the Meowstic that I usually use for early game. Slot 5: Crobat (Infiltrator - Adamant) - Not sure about this one, picked it because Acrobatics is in the learnset and good speed base stat. Slot 6: Magneton (Sturdy - Modest) - I don't know wherre to evolve him yet which is why I didn't write 'Magnezone'. Should hopefully be a solid pick as I use him for most runs of other Pokemons games as well. Honorary Mentions I was thinking about for a while: Flygon - Aggron - Diggersby - Dusclops - Growlithe/Arcanine (Not sure when Fire Stone is available) - Golem Like I said, I think something is missing from this team. Maybe you can give me some insight if that team might be ready for the game after Serra or not. Maybe naming some Mons I need to look out for in the past-Serra game might be really helpful. Thanks in advance to everyone! P.S.: I've read in the Forum about "Wonder Trade" and Battling others. I thought this game was a single-player-only Browser Game. Is it possible to Trade/Battle with others (probably via Internet)?
Nordling
First of all, you cn get water pledge for Greninja after Corey and before Shelly (which would be a gread idea if you let het set up rain). Agreed, Ninja is a good all around starter so no worries there. Also, consider not evolving it until lv. 44 when it lerns bounce - a solid coverge move having in mind its water/dark typing. Yep, Hariyama is a very solid pick overall. However, it has disadvantage vs. Corey, Shelly, Shade, Cain and Aya in the early game, so take that into consideration. After Aya, fighters are very useful up until Agathe Circus. I personally recommend waiting a bit longer for a fighter and go for Toxicroak/Scrafty - theyre both very nice mons with great STAB combo. Croak comes with nice fight STAB drain punch, and Scrafty comes with egg move that you can reset untill you get the one you want - elemental punches, DDance, zen headbutt and possibly drain punch (last one bot confirmed) Camerupt is meh imo. There are much better fire types available such as Growlithe, Ponyta, Houndoom. Diggersby is a straight up beast with pretty much complete movepool only from leveling up/relearning. Gardevoir is a very nice pick. Crobat is also a nice mon overall as well I think that your team could use a support grass type Edited October 31, 2017 by Nordling

Wolfox
maybe a fire type that resists Ice instead of it being neutral?

There is indeed a wonder trade and online battle system set up in reborn. You open the menu > pokegear > online play. Set up a new account and then you can battle/trade other people online. If you prefer E15 music, just download both E16 e 15 then copy paste the music folder in E15 to the one in E16, this will allow you to play E16 with E15 music Quote Slot 1: Greninja (Protean - Timid or Modest) - Should be a solid pick, even if the strongest Water STAB is Water pulse for a long time. All solid choices like the others have said thou I advise to go for another Fire type such as Arcanine and only keep camerupt for egg breeding btw to evolve Magneton you need to level him up on a room on Shade's Gym, if I'm not mistaken you can also get Rotom on the same room there later in the game which is another great option Quote P.S.: I've read in the Forum about "Wonder Trade" and Battling others. Yes E16 introduced online battles and trades you can access it through Pokegear -> Online Edited October 31, 2017 by DragonType
Seel The Deal
Camerupt starts to fall off a bit from Kiki to whenever in the future we get the Mega Ring (we already have Cameruptite), thankfully you get the Fire Stone pre-Kiki and Growlithe learns its last useful move at Kiki's level cap so if you're planning on using Arcanine, that's a great time to grab it. I'd recommend a neutral/hasty/naive (each has pros and cons) nature mixed attacker, with Heat Wave/Flare Blitz/Close Combat/Crunch or Extremespeed. Another good choice is defensive Arcanine with Morning Sun or filler/Heat Wave/Crunch/filler (protect, toxic, and will-o-wisp are the best options but protect tm is unavailable and the latter 2 are very late game). Arcanine's basically the best doubles Pokemon in reborn, and even in bad doubles matchups (e.g. aster+eclipse) it pulls its weight fine. Also, Camerupt gets Curse, so I'd actually recommend Adamant with Rock Slide/Earthquake/Curse/Amnesia. You miss a fire STAB but Rock/Ground covers everything relevant and bulk alone means nothing at +6 soooo yeah. Could also run Lava Plume with a Brave nature instead of going with Amnesia. Some of the REALLY noteworthy stuff post-Serra (fair warning, some of these will be well beyond Serra): Eevee (technically pre-serra but w/e), Mienshao, Conkeldurr, Lucario, Alakazam, Reuniclus, Golurk (if you didn't get it first try from the totem you need to wait until either you can obtain it in the wild or until you can buy more Ill-Fated Dolls), Staraptor, Braviary, Absol (can be found holding the Life Orb when caught, which is one of two available in Reborn atm), Hawlucha, >>>>Feraligatr<<<< (I don't like Feraligatr at all what are you talking about I'm not crazy you're crazy), Typhlosion, Roserade (available well before Serra but only really gets good after her), Swampert, Goodra, Infernape, Togekiss, Electivire, Bisharp Edited October 31, 2017 by Seel The Deal
