A worried expression flitted across Perlita’s face as she looked between Gabriel and Soryn, taking in their respective conditions... and then she spoke, with that worry translating into her voice. ”Ah...! Gabriel, I’m sorry, but Soryn really does need this Diarama more than I think you do, especially considering your element, please just keep hanging on!”

Perlita sputtered out for a moment as she was addressed by Atton, but despite this guy being a complete stranger, she couldn’t help but find his speech reassuring, to her pleasant surprise. ”...uhm... thank you... right! Right, let’s see if I can’t just be a bit more proactive here! Doing God’s work... uh, Crawford, come forth!” Once again tugging on the strings invisible to everyone but her and Gabriel that summoned her Persona... and she sent a strong infusion of pink healing energy towards Soryn!

Perlita casts Diarama on Soryn, healing him for 4d4+11+11 (from perk) health points!

Constitution: 6, Resistance: 4, Dexterity: 7, Intelligence: 0, Strength: 2, Synergy: 11

If dealt a non-stun Ailment, Perlita's Justice Arcana perk afflicts its dealer with the same Ailment, and her Dark Jacket protects her from sleep effects and confers 25% resistance against darkness attacks!

"Alright, your turn!"

Jeanne takes an Agilao.

Agilao: Deals 3d4+SYN damage, reduces the enemy RES to 55% of its original value. As this is a fire attack, this also triggers Sun Arcana.

Sun Arcana: All nuclear and fire attacks add a debuff that deals SYN/2 piercing damage for three turns, stacking with future attacks.

Beat of My Blood: Deal x1.3 damage against enemies with Burn, Freeze or Shock statuses. Sun Arcana's effect counts as a Burn.

Gabriel takes 25% less damage from fire attacks and is immune to burns due to his Blue Bomber Jacket.

Mitsurugi darts in with the fury of an Eruption, dealing [152!] damage to Saber.

Saber continues to charge her attack, the sinister flames around her making it painful to stand nearby.

Magnum gives some strategic advice to Soryn, yelling something about a blitz.

Fire spreads over the ground toward Snow, forming a ring around her. "This is the roar of my soul. . ."

The second Bel Lahmu spreads its limbs out, and makes a bizarre and unsettling chittering noise. The air ripples around the second Wyvern, granting it +11 STR!

The first Wyvern dive-bombs Snow, attempting to pin her beneath its claws! [19 vs 22] Snow manages to keep her footing. It takes 5 burning damage.

Atton inspires Perlita, granting her first strike for three rounds!

Perlita sends a burst of positive energy toward Soryn, healing him for [34] HP.

Snow stands there, looking tanky and rather unbothered by the flames.

The second Lahmu scrabbles at Snow, but it doesn't even seem to be trying to affect her physically. . . Suddenly, she finds herself much more open to attack. [Stalwart Stance removed]

"Polished by hatred. . . !" The flames around Snow close in and grow in height.

Gabriel blasts Saber with flames, dealing [35] damage and leaving a lasting burn.

Soryn impales Saber with a multitude of bloody needles, dealing [134] damage! His followup deals [34] damage.

Magna does a lot of things to the unfortunate Bel Lahmu along with her minions, sending it to the ground as a charred husk.

Edmond welds Lahmu B, dealing [39] damage. The next attack will deal [28] more damage.

Wyvern B slashes at Soryn with its talons, dealing [25] damage!

Three of the Dragon Teeth attack Mitsurugi for [28] damage. One attacks Edmond for [5] damage, and the final one attacks Soryn for [13].

"Le Grondement de la Haine!" A series of spikes erupts from the ground, stabbing at Snow for [3*3] damage and setting her alight once again. She also feels a lingering sense of hatred and malice about her.

The first Lahmu scrabbles at Mitsurugi, slowing her down magically. It burns for 10 damage.

Spicy HG strikes the wyvern with a flurry of blows, dealing a massive [2] damage.

Overall, things were going decently, it seemed to Edmond. Saber had just unleashed what should have been her most powerful card. But, it was distinctly underwhelming. . .These servants aren't stupid. I don't think she'd have used that unless there was something to be gained from it. Either it's something that gives her an edge, or something we'll have to worry about taking effect on Snow.

"We need to keep focusing the support! The spider things aren't going to last much longer, and we should be able to send the dragons off soon too. Healers, keep the goddess up and moving, along with aanyone else who needs help." Edmond glanced around the field, the visor on his helmet helping him rapidly sort through the many people. No one really seemed terribly injured, though Gabriel and Soryn could probably use a little help, and Magnum's bus was feeling a little bit of wear.

Edmond uses Weld on Lahmu A (or Wyvern B if it dies), dealing basic damage (2d6+INT) and adds 1d4+INTx1.25 to the next attack on the same target. Also regains 2 health, due to emerald font bauble.

Spoiler

HP: 62

Constitution: --4

Intelligence:.--9+2
Resistance:--2+3+4
Strength: --5+1
Synergy: --5

10% Dodge Chance. Attacks are autohit. Gets 4 more RES against bullets or arrows. Equipped emerald font heals for Con/4 +1 each turn.

((OOC: Not a detailed plan, because I'm busy, and things are going decently:

As usual, we want to keep Mitsu up and protected as a priority. After she's handled, heals should go to Soryn and Gabriel, and possibly Snow, since she's probably going to have something bad happen due to that status on her.

Taking out the supports is a good idea for the damage dealers, since numbers mean a lot.

. . .I've got nothing else, but feel free to ping with ideas and fears.))

"D-- uh--" Perlita began to hem and haw a little, but considering that she was in a rather inspired and encouraged mood, that bit of hesitation lasted only for a split second before Perlita came to her decision. If everyone was starting to take some dents, then Perlita would just have to finally whip out a Media! She didn't expect it would bring the goddess back to full condition, just from eyeing her, but Perlita also didn't want to have Gabriel and Soryn start really accumulating injuries...

"Crawford, come forth!" With another pull of the string only visible to her and Gabriel, Perlita brought forth her significantly glitzier, more visible Persona, who wreathed Soryn, Gabriel, and Mitsurugi in faint auras of pink, healing light. "Media!"

Perlita uses Media, healing Gabriel, Mitsurugi, and Soryn for SYN (11) health each!

Sun Arcana: All nuclear and fire attacks add a debuff that deals SYN/2 piercing damage for three turns, stacking with future attacks.

As the battle winded down, Jeanne appeared to be significantly wearied and battered from the group's relentless assault. But no matter how many times Soryn stared into Jeanne's eyes, she showed no sign of giving up. The enemy forces were thinning, leaving nothing but a few underlings and Jeanne herself. He knew it was senseless to prolong the fight any further. Soryn mustered as much blood as he could spare and dispersed it into a hazy mist around Jeanne. The mist was persistent, insistent on clinging to the air like a stain that couldn't be washed. It was an attempt at blocking her vision, if only to obscure his approach. And it was in this instant, that Soryn took this opportunity to draw his blade and aimed directly for Jeanne's heart.

For the entirety of the battle, Soryn had doubts festering within him. Wondering if what he was doing was betrayal, yet another treachery performed by the very people that Jeanne had tried to save. Moments before his blade connected, the mist extended itself into a sphere of blood which enveloped the two, obscuring all vision from the outside.

Jeanne's public burning at the stake those six centuries back was dejecting enough. As a Frenchman who had lived through the tumultuous times of the Hundred Year War, there was no need to subject her to a public execution for the second time. He would grant her the only mercy he knew, in order to shield her final moments from prying eyes.

By becoming her private executioner.

Soryn's blade met flesh, as the thrust pierced cleanly through her chest. He was aware that even if his attack connected at this range, there was a chance that Jeanne could counterattack. But there was something he needed- no, had to do.

With his free arm, he embraced Jeanne d'Arc.

"You... probably will not care, nor want to listen to about what I have to say. That's fine. I will just be talking to myself for a while."

Soryn knew that because Jeanne was a Servant, she would be able to survive for moments longer. But he would have to be quick.

"I wasn't lying, when I said that I will never forget what you did for our country. You were a beacon of hope for all of France to rally towards. Without you, France would not have become one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Did you know? Our wine production is reknown throughout the world. I wish you could have ah, um, tried some. And... and... our country has given rise to many talented artists, some of whose works are magnificent to behold," he continued to ramble on. Six centuries of living, and here he was, at a loss of words. He stumbled with his thoughts for a few moments further, before recomposing himself. "Most importantly, the people have gotten to know what happiness is."

Soryn embraced Jeanne a little closer, convinced that she could no longer hear him, but continued talking regardless.

"I know you aren't the same Jeanne now that I knew in life. I know I cannot apologize for the injustices we performed, nor can I ask for your forgiveness. But even if you walk a different path than you did in the past, your actions allowed me- no, countless of people to live through to a better France."

Soryn always considered his vampirism and by extension, his immortality, to be a curse. Always forced to watch history pass by and leave him behind. Unable to participate, for fear of recognition, and persecution for what he was. But for the first time in a long while, Soryn felt he was glad to have lived this long. He just wished he could've met his savior under different circumstances, but encountering her again like this was a miracle in and of itself.

Soryn withdrew his blade in one deft motion, while gently lowering her body to the ground before taking a step back and dispersing his makeshift barrier. Although being in the darkness of the sphere wouldn't have affected him, the outside world seemed a little different somehow. He began to wipe his face, certain that he had cleared the mist of blood around them, but there appeared to be some residue that must have collected around his eyes.

With a sorrowful gaze, he thrust his blade into the ground beside him and took a seat.

"And so, I give my thanks.
         Farewell, Jeanne."

Partway through Soryn's speech, a dark fire, crimson laced with purple, enveloped Jeanne, though he could be excused for not noticing it; it made no sound, and didn't seem to touch him at all. The person crumpled on the ground seemed different; her hair a less bleached blonde, and her eyes and clothing in dark blues instead of pale yellow and black.

"It's alright. I wish we could have met differently, too, but I'm so glad to hear people speak about my country so.

I don't know what came over me. You did the right thing, and I know God is at your side as well. . . Thank you."

She barely flinched at Snow's action, and finally closed her eyes, remaining for a few moments before fading away.

Edmond looked on in silence. He'd seen this before, and while he'd hoped maybe it'd be slightly different this time after seeing it happen to Cu, it wasn't a surprise. He glanced around quickly, checking to make sure that everyone was in one piece, all limbs attached.

"Alright then. Good work everyone. Why don't we grab the weapons and armor from the creatures that have it, and start making our way back to the castle. Sound good?"

"God, hm..." he said, letting out a sigh. He was just about done with fighting ghosts. "What an odd thing to be saying to a vampire."

Soryn disregarded Snow's act of spite; well aware of the fact that he shouldn't expect anyone to be able to sympathize with the enemy. Though he still found rather rude. He felt wearied after this entire ordeal. Being transported to another world, fighting otherwordly beings, it was certainly a tiresome state of affairs. But because of his selfish actions, an overwhelming sensation came over him. Catharsis.

"Sounds good, Edmond," Magna grinned, as she began walking, and clapping slowly towards Soryn. It sounded rather... sarcastic. The hollow thuds of her applause through her gloves were muffled, but oddly managed to carry the same weight to them. "Well done, Soryn. It seems you finished the deed."

One needed not to look at Magna, for even from beneath the cold, steel skeleton mask she always wore, none other than what could be described as sheer malice emanated from her very being.

"What is it, lich?"

"Why the hostilities, vampire? I merely wanted to congratulate you on a job well done."

Tensions rose quickly between the two of them, both wary of one another's intentions.

"What business do you have with me?"

"Not you, particularly. But since you already know what I am, you should know very well why I'm here," she let out an eerie laugh. Not a vocal laugh, but the clattering of her skull. The sound echoed dully in their surroundings, becoming lost among the ambient noise. Soryn's pupils narrowed, his eye color turning blood red. Bloodlust began to consume him, as he slowly rested his hand on the hilt of his blade. In turn, Magna extended her hand to the side, as her scythe gradually came into form from the shadows. "My, my, are you going to persecute me for what I do? Could you blame a lion for hunting other animals? A vampire for feeding on humans? But if you're still roaring for round two, I wouldn't be hard-pressed to oblige."

Magna had struck a nerve within Soryn, having just about enough of her idle banter. Soryn sprung up from his seat, grasping his blade from the ground blazingly fast. Before anyone could blink an eye, he was already behind Magna.

"Do what you will," he said in a cold tone. He sheathed his sword, his bloodlust subsiding. He started walking away, not bothering to turn back. "You're not worth my time."

"Don't forget, Soryn. You and I are both monsters," The laughter of the skeleton, signaled by the clattering of her skull, echoed once more. "No matter how hard we try to blend in."

Soryn stopped in his tracks at her words, before vanishing into a hazy mist. Magna let go of her scythe, as it disappeared back into the void. As soon as she confirmed his disappearance, Magna had begun her ritual.

The BOOMTOWN EXPRESS rumbles towards the general epicenter of everyone left standing. Magnum leaned out the window, looking around the ruined countryside like a tourist trying to decipher the value behind an esoteric burial site. "And can you believe that my wife always wanted to go to France? This place is a real dump! That's why Edward DeGaul left France to play for the Colts. He revolutionized the position of kicker, nobody before him ever kicked barefoot! And not too many either, especially when they started using weighted balls that ended up with a lot of broken toes. But those few years when the barefoot kickers ruled, those were special times. Leave it up to a Frenchy to come up with something like that."

"If anyone wants a ride in the bus, hop on in."

Gabriel doesn't know what to feel after seeing what Soryn did.

So that was Joan of Arc. He'd heard about her only from books, really; lady who dressed up like a knight, lead France to victory and was burnt to death as a heretic by people who disapproved of her dressing up like a man. At least, that's as much as he could remember; he wasn't that diligent of a student, and it was a long time ago.

On one hand, she'd just burned down a village, presumably killed people, and was clearly batshit insane. On the other hand, what Soryn said.....and of course, Gabriel wasn't too enamoured with what Snow did, or what Magnum was saying. Speak no ill of the dead, his family had always taught him, being devout Catholics. He wasn't one, but their values had stuck to him. For the most part.

He'd check up on Perlita when they were safe.

"Hey. Mind saving me a spot?"

Mitsurugi simply stared at Snow, her disapproval nearly exerting a physical force on the woman. Were she a pettier god, she likely would have laid a curse on the woman; as it were, she simply ensured that Snow saw her expression before turning away. The vampire - she'd always had an odd relationship with vampires - seemed to want some privacy, though she believed she could offer some comfort to the man. She didn't quite comprehend the emnity the shinigami seemed to have for him; perhaps she saw him as an affront to her duties? Not that she was particularly responsible about them. . .

The woman looked over the field for a moment, and sighed before turning and stepping onto Magnum's strange vehicle, doing her best to ignore the slight irritation at the man that welled up. Must he be so noisy?

Perlita had felt an initial rush of elation when the end of the battle came and no one was seriously hurt -- not only did she feel some pride that she'd done her job properly, but she was also just happy that everyone got out okay in and of itself. Of course, events transpired rather quickly to crush that good mood in its infancy. First of all, Snow spit on the corpse of their enemy, which just drew an uneasy stare from Perlita -- the village had been burned down and all, but she didn't know that she approved of that. And of course, THAT reminded her that they were standing in the charred wreck of a village around several dead people, some of which had probably been horrifically transformed... and, well, that took a visible toll on her mood too.

THEN Soryn and a skeleton lady started arguing, and Perlita had to resist sinking her face into her hands. They were about to slice each other up! Was this really what it was like here...? Perlita didn't know what to think of some of her slightly less recent teammates, but at least they hadn't gone at it like this... this certainly wasn't the happiest way to get introduced to this new team. Actually... she missed the old team, too. Malachi and Diane and the bunch. And speaking of her friends... as Perlita approached the bus, she saw Gabriel doing so too... and asking a spot be saved? Climbing into the bus, she turned to him. "Er... Gabriel? Save you a spot? What are you doing?"

Oh no, Perlita had once again fallen headfirst down the well that was her seemingly boundless teenage awkwardness. She put a hand on her head. "Wait, but why would you need us to save a spot if you're walking on, uh, I mean, I'm confused too--" Perlita dropped her hand and sighed... this really wasn't the time or place for this sort of thing, and she didn't have the energy with the mood she was in. "...sorry, uh, I thought you wanted us to save you a seat because you weren't going to be getting right on. But... whatever, you know?" Perlita settled on shrugging, and then extended a slender hand to wave Gabriel on in as she finished entering the bus and picked out a seat for herself.

Soryn

The strange mist that Soryn had transformed himself into had made its way to Magnum's bus. It gathered itself upon a seat on the bus, before Soryn materialized himself back into his humanoid form. "I think I'll take you up on that offer, Magnum. Thank you," he said graciously. He considered making his way back to the castle on his own, but decided it was for the best not to keep brooding on his own. On the exterior, Soryn was trying his best not to let his mood show. "I do apologize for not properly introducing myself earlier. My name is Soryn Éclaire, and as you may have already noticed, I am a vampire. I sincerely hope that no one was significantly injured in the fight."

Magna

"My my, I thought he'd put up more of a fight," she mused. By how he was acting, she thought Soryn would be opposed to Magna reanimating Jeanne, but it had turned out she was wrong. Either way, she would be able to bolster her army's fighting force. She did find it a shame that Soryn decided not to fight. He would've been an excellent specimen for her collection. In the background, Magna's remaining officers could be seen wrestling with one another.
