Chevaleresse
Once the party had slipped past the forces guarding the outskirts of the Asterlux forces, they headed quickly in the direction of Lancer; they'd been told where she was just before leaving by a rather beleaguered-looking diviner. It wasn't any further away than the other servants had been, but it seemed their battlefield was to be a featureless plain, gently rolling for nearly as far as the eye could see. Not that it could see far, with the almost unnatural darkness that cloaked the land. As a result, it felt like their walk would stretch on forever, until their target finally came into sight. A figure astride a horse, illuminating by a glowing lance. Her head turned toward the party, and she motioned wordlessly at the human soldiers near her. They formed up, and started to move toward the party; Lancer herself slowly turned her horse to face them, and then set her lance, preparing to charge. A few things, fouler than the skeletal monsters they had seen before, crawled toward them as well, four legs suspending withered bodies that might have been men once, with a head overtaken entirely by a sideways mouth with human teeth. DragonRage
Samantha, remembering what happened the last time she recklessly charged at a powerful enemy, decides to play things safer this time around. She draws upon the power of the Phoenix, surrounding herself in cosmic fire (12 backlash damage), activates her Phoenix Corona. The young superhero rises above the group, wings of psychic plasma extending over them, and surrounds herself in Psychic Armor (+synergy x2 to resistance for 4 rounds, base synergy is 11). As the reassuring layers of telekinetic force settle over her, she sets her gaze on the Lancer.
Powder Miner
Isobel stood there and found herself not entirely sure what to do at the start, sort of just raising her arms and preparing to move if she had to -- but during Isobel's initial idleness, LOTUS was taking in the situation, darting the eyes around on his screenplate to match. There she was, Lancer, with her glowing weapon being every bit as ominous as Nobunaga had suggested. She didn't appear to be prone to taunts or jibes, which could be problematic; there was a reason that professionality was a good thing on the battlefield. Still, his previous intel plus Lancer's motion to charge did well enough telegraph her intentions, and LOTUS didn't exactly relish the thought of the team getting slammed by that. He would have to keep Lancer hindered. At the same time, he did have to pay attention to her vanguard. Ten soldiers, and two officers who LOTUS knew had magical capability, they were a known threat, but they were a threat nonetheless. The twisted beings were a new problem, however (and LOTUS could see Isobel slightly uncomfortable with them, even if only slightly). With how monstrous they were, LOTUS couldn't well predict their capabilities, but the fact that it was only three of them present suggested that they were strong. LOTUS wanted to focus on killing Lancer's henchmen first, anyway; from experience both before his new occupation and from the battle he had just commanded earlier. Combining these facts, LOTUS decided that he wanted to strike decisively and take out the Lahnus, to cut their strength out of the equation before they could even use much of it. "Alright, here's the plan! Friedhold, Dackly, you two focus on Lancer, do your best to cut off that charge before she can complete it! We already know that Lancer is capable of doing some very serious damage with that lance if she's allowed to use it freely, and I want you two to make her life difficult especially right now so that the rest of the team's efforts can be focused elsewhere! Samantha, prepare yourself, but be aware that I may need your specific help soon! Hikari, provide yourself, Bridgett, Katsuo, Morgan, Ritsu, and Samantha with additional firepower, I'm going to want us to be able to strike decisively, and I'm going to help spot the weakpoints on one of our targets to further facilitate this! I want everyone else to be taking out these new monsters! Bridgett, Ritsu, I want the pair of you to light up that first walking monster, I'll call it Monster A, on the left! Katsuo, Morgan, your job is to attack the other one, I'll call it Monster B, on the right! I want you both attacking one each because I want to have a decent chance of offing these things before they can bring whatever their full threat is to bear! Be willing to spend some resources, but not all of them! I want these things dead, but don't completely render yourselves weak for the rest of the battle! Now, Monster B here so far as I can tell has a weakness at..." Weakness Pinpoint on Lahnu B, giving attacks against it a 10% chance to critically hit for double damage! Shamitako
Katsuo Katsuo accepted the orders he was given and set his sights on the second monster. Gwaedu beeped at him a couple times, blinking as she did so. "Yeah, I know it's gross, but now isn't exactly the time to worry about getting your spikes dirty." He responded. Gwaedu made a low siren-like sound, expressing her indigence. "Oh sure you weren't." Katsuo teased, "Let's just smash it, okay?" Gwaedu booped in agreement. Katsuo lifted the mace up to point at his target, her spikes glowed crimson with energy. Tendrils of magic launched out of her at high speed, attaching to their foes chest (at least Katsuo was pretty sure it was a chest). Another set of magical tendrils ran from Gwaedu's hilt to Katsuo's wrist, binding the three beings together. "Let's do this." Katsuo said with an anticipatory grin. Chevaleresse
LOTUS points out a few weaknesses on Lahmu B! Bridgett barrages the first monster for [109] damage! Hikari follows up, killing it. Lancer charges forward at Samantha. She drives her lance toward the woman with a flash of blinding energy, dealing [85] damage! Lancer, after recovering from her strike, rides about, trampling Ritsu, Dackly, Bridgett, and Gozer for [1], [15], [7], and [8] damage. Hikari uses a spell to increase the power of Ritsu and Samantha. Officer A targets Isobel with a flying shard of ice, dealing [13] damage and reducing her initiative by 2. Dackly gets into position to parry a lance strike, and gets a hoof to her face for her trouble. Gozer is marginally more productive, slamming into the mounted woman for [1] damage. The first group of soldiers forms up, and charges forward, attacking Ritsu twice, Morgan, Katsuo, and Hikari for [12], [Miss], [20], and [11] damage. Morgan deals [24] damage to them. Katsuo taunts Lahmu B. Lancer winds up for another charge at Dackly. Fortunately, she anticipated this one correctly, and deftly deflects the strike, interrupting the attack and stunning Lancer. The flying monster swoops at Gozer, battering him for [13] damage. The second officer sends an ice spike flying at Bridgett, dealing [3] damage and reducing her initiative by 2 due to the chill. The remaining ground-based monster skitters toward Friedhold and stabs at him with a sharp limb, dealing [2] damage. Samantha still manages to ward herself in powerful psychic energies, somehow avoiding burning herself up, and increases her RES by 42. The second group of soldiers attempts to take advantage of the opening created by Lancer, but finds that their attacks have a similar effect to a gentle breeze against Samantha. Ritsu chainsaws the Lahmu for [29] damage. The smell of brimstone momentarily suffuses the field. A burst of flame announces the arrival of none other than the party's second favorite Planeswalker. "Some weird guy with all these swords in him told me you guys might need help. Looks like he was right." Marisa has joined the fray! Friedhold knocks Lancer and the remaining Lahmu over for a moment, but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect. Morgan focuses, and channels void energies into his blade, increasing his SYN by 14. Powder Miner
First off, LOTUS spoke. "Alright... Samantha's the only one who came out of this really hit big, so I'm going to need our medics to focus in on her to make sure she doesn't go down to Lancer! Healing her is beneficial otherwise, anyway. Samantha is likely to be healing herself, but Isobel, Hikari, I need you two to patch her up too! Bridgett, Gozer, I can see you winding up to make people tougher, and extrapolating that to your targets... yes, keep on doing that, good plans!Ritsu, I want you to tase Lancer, and Friedhold, I want you to try to muck her up again, I want two people hindering her at minimum at any one time! Katsuo, you need to actually hit that damn Lahmu now, and I want you to use a strong attack on it! Morgan, I also want you to go at it now! Uh, the new arrival... I'm not familiar with what you do, but if you have anything that can help us put the pressure on Lancer over here, its use would be appreciated!" Isobel began to reach for the poppy in her pocket, but she found her attention briefly taken by the arrival of a new woman, one with a witch's hat, blue ringlets, and... "Ohhh goodness." Yeah, the new lady was also one of the most attractive women that Isobel had ever seen, and despite where she was, she couldn't help but look Marisa up and down for just a brief second, and though Isobel would have probably greatly appreciated lingering her gaze a place or two, she had to resist that urge what with how she was needed right now. Oh well, there would always be more time after the battle, assuming that the woman didn't just instantly leave... So Isobel jerked her gaze back to Samantha, and ran up to her, finishing pulling out that poppy and then getting it clearly into Samantha's view before tossing it to her -- directly handing it to her did look like it would probably get Isobel burned after all, and even though the bolt of freezing cold that had just hit her definitely did hurt, this wasn't a cartoon and fire would just also hurt her. "Samantha, quickly, eat this, it'll help you recover!" Isobel uses Healing Poppy, healing Samantha for 2d4+INT*1.25 damage! Also, she has a passive 10% dodge chance, and if stunned physically or chemically LOTUS' moves can still be used. Her Warsong activates, dealing [3] damage to Lancer, [10] damage to the remaining Lahmu and the Bel Lahmu above, [2] damage to the officers, and [4] damage to the soldiers. Bridgett creates a defensive ward around herself and Ritsu. Lancer recovers from her stun. Lancer charges toward Bridgett, her horse leaping through the air to allow it to connect for [6] damage. The first officer fires another ice spike at Isobel, dealing [13] damage and reducing her INIT by 2. Dackly casts Libra on Lancer, obtaining some information, while Dackly wards her protectively. The Bel Lahmu lets out an eerily human-sounding scream and fucks right off. Officer B shoots an ice spike at Bridgett. The projectile pings off of her shield, but the chill still gets to her, dropping her initiative by 2. Samantha, already feeling a bit better, surges with psychic energy, healing for [35] HP. DragonRage
Samantha draws upon the full power of the Phoenix again, rising above the battlefield on wings of stellar fire. Gritting her teeth as her flesh burns under power no human is meant to channel, she fires her basic attack at Lancer. The blast of psychic fire leaves a trail of glass as it sears its way between Samantha's forehead and the Servant's, leaving flash spots in the eyes of everyone near and raising the ambient temperature to uncomfortably warm before it connects, the raw power released leaving an impressive crater even though only half the blast is even physical. [She spends 12 HP, and deals 22d6+22 damage.]

Effects: Gains [LVL] Eve every turn, +[Syn] Res against cold attacks, Fire damage stuns. Friedhold continues to lash at the poor fools on the other side of the battlefield. Powder Miner
LOTUS watched other members of the party take initiative, and he wasn’t particularly perturbed — it looked to him like they were taking intelligent enough courses of action, largely putting pressure on Lancer, or preparing to, with Morgan appearing to be helping the party recover. There were a couple of things LOTUS found notable: Dackly seemed to have put into place the actions she’d been taking it upon herself to do, Katsuo was still mindlessly raging, and Bridgett was charging up one of her powerful blasts. With these variables in mind, LOTUS issued orders to the remaining members of his squad. ”Alright... Hikari, I want you to grant attack power to Katsuo and Bridgett again, the latter will need it and the former is pretty powerful! Dackly, I want you to start laying into Lancer, start prepping her for a big effect of yours! Gozer, you should renew your boost of Dackly’s toughness! Ritsu, I would appreciate it if you attacked that officer on the left, as well as you, new lady with the demons, it’d be appreciated if you sent your demon to attack that same officer! Support it if you can, otherwise just keep yourself protected! Isobel, I will want you to go give Dackly a poppy, because she could probably use it!” ”Right, I don’t need telling twice! Hold on Dackly, I happen to be an expert in keeping plants alive!” Oh God, Isobel thought, that joke was stuuupid... but no time to dwell! Instead, Isobel sprinted on over to Dackly, handing her a poppy. Isobel uses Healing Poppy to heal Dackly for 2d4+INT*1.25! Also, she has a passive 10% dodge chance, and if stunned physically or chemically LOTUS' moves can still be used.
