Valpix
First off, points to anyone who understands the Dropping the Gloves title. (Yet, for some reason, I didn't add Hitmonchan ZOMG SPOILERS) Mienshao (M) @ Normal Gem Trait: Regenerator EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Acrobatics - Hi Jump Kick - Stone Edge - Fake Out Mienshao works great as a lead with that Fake Out, and after a Normal Gem and that sick attack stat, it hurts like hell and also boosts Acrobatics, which is there to take out the bug-types that come in hoping to resist my team. Hi Jump Kick is the STAB attack of choice because of the raw power (and I can heal any misses if I do survive them by switching), and Stone Edge completes the set, slaughtering slower Flying-types. Lucario (F) @ Choice Specs Trait: Steadfast EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Dragon Pulse - Aura Sphere - Dark Pulse - Psychic Did you know Lucario could be a special attacker? Yes, Lucario can be a special attacker. Yes, it's very good at it. Dark Pulse murders Psychic types, while Psychic deals with other fighters that are slower and don't back Mach Punch, as well as Poison types. Aura Sphere is the STAB move (and never missing is awesome). Dragon Pulse takes care of Dragon-types, which is especially nice if I'm facing a Flying or Ground team and can nail them on the switch. Heracross (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Guts EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Close Combat - Megahorn - Stone Edge - Earthquake I'm one of the few who refuses to use Dream World abilities (there are some exceptions, such as Regice and Cinccino), and besides, Guts can be a godsend at times. However, that's beside the point. This thing is an excellent revenge killer, what with the Scarf letting it outspeed stuff and the combination of incredibly powerful STAB attacks. Edgequake, Close Combat, and Megahorn hits a LOT super-effectively. The big counter to this is Gengar. Hariyama (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Thick Fat EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Def / 16 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Low Kick - Payback - Whirlwind - Bullet Punch Here I was going for a more defensive Hariyama who can also phaze. EV spread is unusual, but I kinda came up with it on the fly. The moveset is mostly in tribute to Bruno's Hariyama that almost de-railed the 2010 Speed Gamers Marathon, and it works well. Payback will sting anything that hits it (unless Hariyama is burned); even dealing massive damage to bulky Psychics like Reuniclus. Bullet Punch is more or less a finishing move, or a last-ditch effort if Hariyama is being sacrificed. Low Kick demolishes heavy Pokemon, especially ones that are weak to fighting. Since it's more defensive, I went with Thick Fat for the extra resistances. Poliwrath (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spd Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Circle Throw - Substitute - Waterfall - Focus Punch The two Fighting moves may seem stupid, but there's a good reason: phazing. Circle Throw is very useful for stat-uppers who threaten my entire team (and also owns Baton Pass chains), and this is why I chose it over Hypnosis. SubPunch needs no introduction, and Waterfall is there for Water-type STAB. Water Absorb makes it easy to switch in on moves like Scald and Hydro Pump. Scrafty (M) @ Life Orb Trait: Moxie EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Hi Jump Kick - Dragon Dance - Crunch - Ice Punch DD + Moxie Scrafty is a great boosting sweeper that's very easy to get in. Bring it in on a Psychic move, DD on the switch, and now you've got +1 attack, great natural bulk, +1 speed, and fantastic coverage with HJK, Ice Punch (for Flying types and dragons), and Crunch. After that, with all the Moxie boosts it gets, not much can stop it, other than its own Life Orb recoil and super effective priority moves (which here is limited to Vacuum Wave and Mach Punch IIRC).
