[END - Town Win] League of Legends Mafia - The Noxians Attack!

Hello everyone! I'm Quinnox (also known as Quinn) and it brings me great pleasure to introduce a Mafia Game I have created myself: League of Legends Mafia - The Noxians Attack! This mafia game will be more unique than others as there will be a few custom roles along the traditional ones and there will be five (5) factions! We have the town, mafia, and three third party factions. Let's get right into all of the information (credits to @Myrmidon Divergent for the formatting and the information under: What is Mafia? & Rules).

1. What is Mafia and How is the Game Played?

Mafia is a social deduction game which requires analyzing, cooperation, and looking through lies. There are two main factions in a mafia game: the Uninformed Majority [Town], who have to find others of their kind while hunting for the mafia, and the Informed Minority [Mafia], who have a private chat and plan there on how they should trick the town and whom they should kill. There may also be Third Party or Independent roles, which have different agendas and win conditions.

At the beginning of the game, players receive a PM or a DM (in some cases) with their role and alignment.

There are two major phases in a Mafia game:

(1) The Day Phase – Typically lasting 48 hours, players use this opportunity to discuss about several things, which may include the outcome of the previous phases, behavior of players, and flow of the game; the ultimate goal in the day phase is for the Town players to find the Mafia slowly while Mafia players have to blend in carefully. Before the day ends, players must vote for a player whom they want to be eliminated on grounds of suspicion and the player receiving the most votes will be eliminated.

(2) The Night Phase – Typically lasting 24 hours, the thread is considered “locked” at this point and players may not comment at all. Instead, players with night actions, special abilities related to their role, may use these to aid their faction. The Mafia also discusses in the private chat on whom to dispose of.

The game continues until one of the major factions attains their win condition or unless it is no longer possible.

What makes this different from a normal game of Mafia?

(1) This is a semi-closed setup – roles to be used are unspecified (although there is a list of potential roles).

(2) Players may have the liberty to choose the character they want to play as; though, they may also let RNG decide. (read the section on roles to find out how this works)

(3) Roles and alignment will be revealed when someone dies, along with the official Role PM.

2. Opening Narrative to this Game

In the world of Runeterra, all was fairly peaceful until the Noxians decided it was time to invade other towns again and this time for a bigger goal than ever: Total Domination. They seek to conquer all and rule their world. They started slowly invading Ionian cities, and when Karma and Irelia - two esteemed members of Ionia's protective forces - noticed this, they fought back. This time, however, the Noxians brought so many forces that would overwhelm even the strongest of Ionians, so they decided to seek help in another town that wishes to protect their homeland from Noxus: Demacia. Karma and Irelia directed their forces to hold down what they could as they went seeking help from Demacia, only to find Noxus has already started to invade them as well. Both countries felt it was the only option to combine forces and fight to protect their homeland and thus a war broke out.

Meanwhile, over in the Freljord, Ashe, Lissandra, and Sejuani were all plotting to lead their tribes to invade one another and claim ruler of the Freljord. The war of raging on slowly spread through Runeterra reaching the Freljord and caught the tribes in this battle as well. They saw no reason to truly engage or take sides however, and focused on their main goal: eliminating the other two tribe leaders.

Over in peaceful Bandle City, an explosion erupted and everyone just assumed it was one of Teemo's explosive mushrooms but it wasn't. It was the war spreading to their home as well. The yordles saw this opportunity as a way to have fun and they decided to participate in a way where they help no one and feel they are winners when someone else happens to win.

Last, but not least, Zoe was watching over them and was really enjoying watching the mortals attack each other but she wanted in on the fun herself. Throwing Paddle Stars and Sleepy Trouble Bubbles into the fight from a distance when she would knock out anyone she would yell "Sorry my new friend!" and continue running around causing mischief. She wants the war to rage on until everyone perishes but she wants to have fun and be a part of it too.

Ionia + Demacia [D] (Town)

[D] Garen - Garen, along with his sister Lux, were born to the Crownguard. This family is an honor in Demacia, they are charged with protecting the king, Jarvan III (Jarvan IV’s father). Garen trained as an early child to protect the king as well as the prince. Demacians fear magic as it has caused them a great distress from the Rune Wars. His own uncle was murdered by a mage despite it being said he was slain in battle, to keep from panic. He joined the Demacian army at the age of 12, and this is how he met Jarvan IV, his inspiration to fight even harder -- to protect the next king of Demacia. As Garen, you serve as a bodyguard and protector to Demacia and their allies of Ionia in this battle. Each night you may choose someone to protect, taking on any potential negative damaging actions that night for yourself. If your target is attacked by Darius, you take the bleed. Garen is also Bulletproof for one shot, meaning one gunshot against him will not kill him but it will break his Bulletproof ability.

[D] Lux - Sister to Garen and another child of the Crownguard, Lux was much different. She wished to explore the world rather than stay and join the army with her brother no matter how much her parents asked for her to do so. As a child being told what to do didn’t sit with her and she eventually took off on her horse on her own during a harsh snowstorm. Her horse broke its leg and she was left stranded but did not wish to leave the horse when hungry sabrewolves came for the helpless animal. It was at this moment she learned she possessed what all Demacians fear: strong magic. It horrified her and for time she hid her abilities until she learned to embrace creating intense light that burns and destroys. As years passed she eventually was given an option: Use her powers beyond Demacia's borders to learn of its enemies or be exiled forever as a wielder of magic. She took the former and now works to protect Demacia with her strong magical powers. As Lux you are another dual role like her brother, as a Lightkeeper and an Oracle. You travel each night to a new target, unable to be roleblocked. When you die, the last person you visited will have their role will be revealed; not only that but also the day after Lux’s death will be shrouded in darkness and all voting will be anonymous with no discussion.

[D] Jarvan IV - Jarvan IV, Demacia’s Crown Prince, is the son of the line that houses the past three kings of Demacia, all bearing the name Jarvan. His family had him groomed since birth to continue the tradition, and have him take role as king when his father is to fall. For his combat training as a child, he was commonly paired against Garen, and continuously sparring with Garen, witnessing his sheer fortitude, they became inseparable friends. When he came of age his father allowed him to serve as a general in their army. As a general he commands his troops to protect Demacia, “For my father, the king” he chanted. As Jarvan IV you are a Jailer, you smash your spear into the ground and create fissures that build an inescapable earth wall around your target for the night preventing them from acting but also protecting them from any actions against them.

[D+I] Sona - Sona was left at the doorstep of an Ionian adoption house with an ancient instrument right under her. An unusually well-behaved and quiet but content child, her caretakers mistook why she behaved this way until they realized she had no ability to speak or produce sound at all. She remained at the agency until her teens, her caretaker sold her instrument in an attempt to build a trust fund for her but no matter what they did it always ended up back to them. A wealthy Demacian woman, Lestara, soon heard of the instrument and headed straight to Ionia. She adopted Sona as well as taking the instrument and guided Sona to connect with her instrument, that Lestara called an “etwahl.” Sona soon learned how to communicate through her music and learned that the songs she played had magical uses, potentially deadly. During the night phase Sona is able to visit a target and heal them from any ailments (bleeding/poison/blindness) as well as shield them from an impending attack. Despite not being lore friendly to prevent people from knowing who has the role of Sona, she is not mute during the day phases.

[D] Poppy- Despite being a Yordle, she is a Demacian and sides with them rather than her home of Bandle City. As a legend describes, this hero Poppy is always in search for is the only person who can truly unlock the power of the hammer leading Demacia to true greatness. Poppy tried to pass her great hammer to others but it always ended up disastrous, she refuses to believe she’s the hero from this legend claiming she is “just a yordle with a hammer.” In search for the hero, she manages to swing her hammer knocking enemies away pushing them aside, preventing them from touching her allies. As Poppy, you are a protector and Blacksmith to the Demacian and Ionian people. Each night you may hand out a vest to your target of choice; vests protect them from a potential night kill.

Karma - Karma once lived a very peaceful life in a small Ionian village, led by elder monks practicing benevolent magic and pacifism. Her inner peace was tested when the Noxian army invaded Ionia and she questioned why the monks chose to not fight and rather sit still. The Noxians were offended by the weakness shown by the monks and slaughtered them with an order following to attack the village. Karma did not accept death in this attack as she used her power seeing another path: sacrificing one life to spare many others. She had slain the Noxian general with her magical powers and caused the rest to surrender under her might. Karma became a formidable leader in the Ionian Resistance, and followed her third path of practicing peace but also protection. Karma is a Watcher who overlooks the night and chooses a target to watch over each night. She will learn if the target was visited/attacked and if so, who by. She can not see as far as to know what action was performed.

Irelia - Irelia’s father Master Lito was a highly esteemed swordsman and when he passed from a mysterious disease he left behind his son, Zelos, and his daughter, Irelia, with a very unique weapon. Her brother went to join the Ionian army while Irelia was left with the job of protecting their home when the Noxian army struck. After blood was shed the Ionians prepared to surrender, until Irelia wielded her father’s weapon and fought valiantly protecting her home. From her courage and defense of her homeland, she was appointed as Ionian’s Captain of the Guard. Irelia is a gifted battler defending her homeland, as the Vigilante each night she visits one target and strikes them down for a kill.

Ahri - Ahri was abandoned in snowy woods of northern Ionia and never knew of her real family except for the token they left for her. She had no one to teach her the magic she possessed and learned to draw it out from the world around her. When she first encountered humans they were curious to learn more about her, and one hunter in particular had many remnants of animals he had killed, some reminding Ahri of her fox family. When he was wounded by an arrow and slowly dying she took the opportunity to devour his essence and learned she could alter his emotions as he slowly died. This caused her to lust for more victims as she traveled Ionia. The more she killed the guiltier she grew at ending all these lives. She tried to absorb essence not enough to kill and she realized she can not do so as she would grow hungry from doing such. As the charming fox Ahri, you charm your target who you visit forcing them to reveal their role to you. If you are killed you show up as the last person you visited.

Master Yi - Master of Wuju Style, Master Yi’s mind and body have become one. While training and mastering the art, a monkey (known as Wu Kong) would mimic his movements and found enjoyment by turning Yi’s own techniques against him. Master Yi originally was irritated by this but over time he learned to let his anger subside and spar with the monkey. Wu Kong allowed Yi to realize a master of Wuju is not one with anger and hatred in his blood. Wu Kong wished to learn the ways of Wuju and Yi did such. As Master Yi, you are a swordsmith, creating swords for those of Ionia and Demacia to fight the long war against Noxus. These swords act like normal mafia guns and kill a target during the day.

Demacia and Ionia claim victory and peace once all threats to them are cleared (including Zoe and the Freljord, not Bandle City).

Noxus (Mafia)

Katarina - As the Assassin of Noxus, she fights to bring glory to Noxus and rise high within her family. She is beyond crafty, and can appear then leave within the blink of an eye. Katarina had a natural gift for combat even as a child. Despite many paths of Noxus being available and offered to her she declined each one to follow the path of the blade. Her first assignment after training among the best assassins in Noxus was to take down a low-rank Demacian officer. She went for her target but spotted a bigger opportunity: A Demacian General. This caused her original target, the officer, to lead his forces to ambush Noxian soldiers who were unprepared. She realized her mistake and corrected it the following night, assuring blood was shed not only from her target but by the many Demacian soldiers nearby as well. Katarina is a thief who will steal the item of her target during the night phase. This goes last in actions as she waits for the perfect opportunity to strike and is able to steal an item that was given out in the same night.

Darius - As the Juggernaut of Noxus, he is the leading symbol of Noxian Might. A member of the military, he is in combat and leaves many wounds on those he spars with. Each odd night he visits a target to leave them bleeding. Each even night he can target any bleeding enemy for an instant execute if they are still bleeding. If they are no longer bleeding then this is invalid. Those bleeding die within 2 days if not healed.

Swain - As the Leader of Noxus’s military, it’s only natural that he performs night kills. He rose in the ranks quickly and gained the respect of his army and commands them to take out his target. With his loyal troops that serve under him, he presses on as an esteemed commander. Each night he commands his troops to eliminate a target. If he dies Draven takes on his role of the kill.

Draven - As the Marksman of Noxus, brother of Darius. He wishes to be recognized and does so with his flashy style. He has no night action; however, if his brother Darius is killed, night or lynch[*] he will gain vengeance and determine who has done so, revealing their role to his fellow mafia members. This will unlock a one-time availability to strike who he revealed, copying his brother’s bleeding action; however his is empowered and they die after one day if not healed.

[*]If it is done by lynch the one chosen for role reveal is chosen by RNG with those who voted against Darius.

Noxus wins once they finally destroy Ionia, Demacia, and the trickster god trying to steal their plan for domination, Zoe.

Freljord (Third Party)

Ashe - One of the Avarosan, she fights for Justice and the Freljord's honor. She was always a dreamer as a child, marveling at the colossal abandoned fortress of her ancestors and listening to tales of the Freljord. Her favorite was the legend of Avarosa, the queen of the once unified, now split, Freljord. Despite her mother calling her foolish Ashe swore to one day reunite the Freljord’s scattered tribes. She is a marksman with great aim, she is able to slow her target down during the night causing their night action to be performed last after every other action takes place.

Lissandra - One of the Watchers, Lissandra travels around seeking her revenge continuously claiming "The Watchers will return." Called the Ice Witch, she corrupts nature and plots to unleash an ice age on the world. She betrayed her tribe before she was known as the Ice Witch, and worked with the Frozen Watchers in return for power. That was the last day she had warm blood in her as she became a blizzard sweeping through across the land with her newfound power. She may be blind but she has expert accuracy and can freeze a target during the night preventing them from making any moves. Lissandra’s loss of sight allows her to see things others can’t, so she can still target Teemo if he is stealthed and will roleblock him causing any of the others that may visit him to not be poisoned.

Sejuani - One of the Winter's Claw, Sejuani rides her boar Bristle due to her legs giving out on her when she was trapped in a blizzard. She now rides her companion boar, Bristle, charging into battle wishing to grow her tribe in strength. A brave warrior and commander of Winter's Claw, she commands her soldiers each night to go and question a target gaining information from them. She learns one of the three based on RNG: Whether they are holding any items, who they visited on the previous night, or if their alignment matches hers (Ashe and Lissandra will match Sejuani's). Sejuani breaks through roleblocks from Teemo, as Bristle charges onward carrying Sejuani while she is blinded.

Freljord is unique, and due to that each have their own goal. A Freljordian wins when they are the last one standing of the three. The game continues even if the Freljord wins.

Bandle City (Third Party)

Teemo - Teemo, oh Teemo. The yordle everyone hates due to his tricky style. A member of the Bandle’s Scouts, he is said to “ride a thin line between chipper compatriot and unrepentant killer” by his best friend, Tristana. Stealthy and quick, Teemo blinds and poisons his enemies. He may choose to either act or remain dormant during the night. If he acts he blinds his target causing them to have a 50% chance to fail their intended night action. If he stays still he becomes invisible to the standard eye and if he is visited during this he poisons his target, causing his target to slowly die and if not healed they fall within 2 days (2 full rotations).

Heimerdinger - A brilliant yordle, he’s known to be one of the most esteemed and innovative inventors known. He loves mysteries and wishes to answer all of the hardest, unanswered questions the universe has to offer. He believes knowledge must be shared and devotes his life teaching it to those who desire it. Each night he visits someone and determines their role or whether they possess an item or not (50/50 on which he finds out), and if anyone visits him one of the bits of information he has gained is shared with them.

Lulu - Lulu is a wild card who loves to just march to the beat of her own drum. She just loves to explore places others didn’t find interesting and is full of imagination. In her travels she found her fae spirit and companion, Pix. While with Pix she played games in its home of the Glade for what didn’t seem to be too long; however, when she returned home with Pix she realized centuries had passed. Using her magical powers she loves to play around and polymorph people into flowers or animals for a brief duration. Each night Lulu may polymorph a target, rendering their actions useless.

Zoe [God] (Third Party)

Zoe - Zoe is a god, a trickster god to be exact. She loves fooling around and being just an all-around goof. She's confused by the mortals she now resides with and wishes to zap them all to dust. Zoe has two night actions: She may execute a target, this goes first above all acts so if someone tries to kill her she will get her kill off first. This has 1 use and 1 use only. The other action is the ability to use her portals and bring a sword or vest to a target, but these are fake. Swords have reverse gravity by Zoe’s tricks, causing them to fly back into you rather than your target and vests fail to protect. She may only do one of the two actions each night.

You don't have to be a League of Legends fan to play this mafia game, lore is given and it's meant to be for all players! I have 20 main roles already set up, if more than 20 sign up I may introduce additional backup roles or just keep the last few who signed up as players who fill in if someone is inactive or asks to leave the game due to personal reasons, depending on how many over 20 it is. If you'd like to join leave a comment below stating you're in for this game!

Nah you don't need to know about the game to play it's a pretty standard mafia game meant for all players c: Just make sure you read up on what role does what and you should be fine!
