Let me tell you this much, the whole issue that you have been having with your relationship is the reason I choose to stay out of one. However, I can relate to being incredibly worried about a friend, and it has been some of the scariest experiences in my life. I will say that you having the social problems in your school; I can relate to that. Believe me, I have gone through HELL in my carrer as a student.

While others have respect, you have complete respect and admiration from me. To a degree that is beyond most other people. You've been to that hell hole in Afghanistan, and have had more than your fair share of bad experience. I know that I would not last long there; I have a very weak will when it comes to the things I've heard about. I hope I never go into war. I would not last long. Im glad you're back. I hope it stays that way.

Eh, well, while there's so many things home has over on Afghanistan, it ended up being not that bad and with pretty minimal risk (though we did lose some guys). Just another thing, another job to endure and get done with. As our 1st Sergeant rightly put, we've been paid pretty nicely to come out to Afghanistan and do what we do. No one owes us anything, but we do appreciate the recognition, so thanks. I'm no hero. Luckily I haven't had to be any situation that I could say determined whether I was or not. For the most part, being a soldier is just a job to me- one with a LOT of ups and downs. But other times, like after movies or whatever, it's put into a perspective that even I feel that we did something important and did things to keep the country safe, so honestly, I find it hard to accept all this respect just because I'm an infantry soldier. I just wanted to put that out there.
