e17 Questioning a certain character's motives. [E17 Spoilers]

Hello all, I just finished both branches of the episode, and I cannot understand why

Taka decided to impersonate Lin, leading up to his death by Titania, although he probably already knew that was going to be the outcome of it anyway. I don't get the whole "I'm putting team Meteor behind and going to sew myself a new life, starting by following the MC's footsteps" thing, if he's going to willfully commit suicide shortly afterwards.

Does anyone have insight on this? Could Lin have manipulated him? If yes, how?

While I understand Commander's point of view, I still believe he wouldn't be that selfless so as to forfeit his own life. His only interaction with Titania prior to E17 was in the WTC, and it is shown that the first time they meet each other is when the MC is present, and she is but friendly to him, calling him out almost in every room he shows up. The only speculation he would have that Titania and Amaria are together, is that the former fell down the waterfall while following the latter. Even so, he didn't have any clues of what the relationship is like, and from my 2 playthroughs I didn't quite get the impression that he is an empathetic genius. Perhaps it's my own way of seeing it, but I simply don't understand how a person would decide to kill themselves, when they're on the verge of changing their life, after living so many years unable to.

I haven't seen the scene itself take place or read the actual dialogue, so I will have to reserve some of my judgement until then.  Perhaps he was feeling guilty for not taking some kind of decisive (not half-hearted) action sooner------(an extreme shot in the dark, since I have yet to read the actual dialogue)?

 

If I had an earlier save, I might try to go the other route, but I'm not devoting that much time to an all new play though right now

Or....Lin just knocked him out again, put him in the suit, and as he was going to find out where he was, he got killed by Titania. Simple solution.
