Gashimon
Hi everyone! So glad E17 came out and since I got a new computer, I don't have my old saved file (Although I'm sure I uploaded it to the forum sometime before, but I'll just start over) So progress report: I started with Torchic after seeing some people say he was a good one to start with. Got so lucky to get Adamant and Speed Boost on the first try. Currently, I only have 3 mons on my team. Combusken (19) Espurr (16 ) and Butterfree (14) and I'm having some trouble with Julia. Since E17 came out, that Oricario is giving me some trouble. Anyone know any additional pokemon I can catch to make this gym battle a bit easier? Combusken isn't strong enough to OKO her pokemon and the other two don't do enough damage/have a weakness. Thoughts and assistance?
Alistair
Gulpin is easy to get and can sponge some damage. Kricketune is also easy to obtain and its Technician Fury Cutter is incredibly valuable at least until Corey. Goldeen can have Lightning Rod which makes Electric moves fall flat. These are just a few examples, but I'm sure there are others.
Zargerth
Goldeen with Lightingrod is actually pretty decent, since it can't take damage from Electric-type moves. You can also try Mightyena.
Wolfox
Mightyena. That and Moxie bite was always a surefire way to beat her
Maltor
technician meowth has always worked wonders for me, in every playthrough (technician persian later on is pretty useful too)
Gashimon
Mightyena seems like a good way to go. I'll go hunt for a Pooch now. Got one but it has Runaway
Jess
The casual early game Zigzagoon/Linoone at the Bridge learns Mud Sport at lv. 18 I think. Use it to terminate the Electric Terrain and have fun!

Galladiator
Leading a trubbish with toxic spikes can be a nice little boost vs her, but Gulpin and espurr are 1st gym mvps usually
