As per usual of the mafs i host, this one is centered with the idea of chaos 'what if everyone has their own agenda in mind?' This game might/will be hard so don't hesitate to ask me for info you might need and I'll try to answer your queries as fairly as possible. An intro about Mafia games in GENERAL (Credits to: @Meteor Admin Divergent ) Reveal hidden contents Mafia is a social deduction game which requires analyzing, cooperation, and looking through lies. There are two main factions in a mafia game: the Uninformed Majority [Town], who have to find others of their kind while hunting for the mafia, and the Informed Minority [Mafia], who have a private chat and plan there on how they should trick the town and whom they should kill. There may also be Third Party or Independent roles, which have different agendas and win conditions. At the beginning of the game, players receive a PM or a DM (in some cases) with their role and alignment. There are two major phases in a Mafia game:(1) The Day Phase – Typically lasting 48 hours, players use this opportunity to discuss about several things, which may include the outcome of the previous phases, behavior of players, and flow of the game; the ultimate goal in the day phase is for the Town players to find the Mafia slowly while Mafia players have to blend in carefully. Before the day ends, players must vote for a player whom they want to be eliminated on grounds of suspicion and the player receiving the most votes will be eliminated.(2) The Night Phase – Typically lasting 24 hours, the thread is considered “locked” at this point and players may not comment at all. Instead, players with night actions, special abilities related to their role, may use these to aid their faction. The Mafia also discusses in the private chat on whom to dispose of. The game continues until one of the major factions attains their win condition or unless it is no longer possible.What makes this different from a normal game of Mafia? THERE ARE NO FACTIONS IN THIS GAME. MOST IF NOT ALL ROLES ARE TREATED AS THIRD PARTY WHICH IS AKA INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY MAF GAME THERE ARE NO HIDDEN CHATS IN THIS GAME OTHER THAN THE DEADMEN CHAT! ACTUAL NUMBER OF VOTES HIDDEN BUT THE VOTING STILL HAPPENS IN THE THREAD SO YOU CAN STILL READ WHO VOTED FOR WHO! THIS IS A FORCED VOTING SETUP MEANING [ABSTAIN] IS NOT ALLOWED! II. Opening Narrative Reveal hidden contents In times of strife, war, plagues, and all the sorrows before the age of technology, a Hero was chosen and sent out on a journey to defeat the Demon King, who dominated the region and oppressed its citizens. The King who sent the Hero on a Journey wasn't actually interested in the Hero's success and hoped that the Hero would fail and die in vain. He had been afraid that the Hero would usurp his position as King, and sending him on such an impossible mission would likely put his enemy out of the competition. However, the King had not anticipated that the Hero would succeed and he now returns back to the kingdom. the title may not be edgy but the story still does so beware! III. FACTIONS Reveal hidden contents AS SAID IN THE INTRO EARLIER, THERE ARE NO FACTIONS IN THIS GAME. IV. ROLES AND GOALS Reveal hidden contents Since this game is all about having your own agenda, all roles have different goals. Some may coincide but just because they share somewhat similar goal doesnt mean everything will be simple. 1. The King - Description: He is a despot who wishes to control the region as he wishes. He trusts no one, not even his family. - Ability: If no decisive lynch happens during the Day Phase, whomever he votes will get lynched. He is unaffected by the Pope's urging and other roles which do not intend to kill him. - Goal: Ensure that the Pope, Hero, Heir of the Demon King, and Princess are dead while you are alive at the end of the game. 2. Heir of the Demon King: - Description: He loathes humans for igniting the flames of war and murdering his father, the Demon King. - Ability: He has the ability to kill someone at night. He is unaffected by non-killing human roles and he cannot be eaten by the Dragon nor can he slay the dragon. - Goal: Guarantee the death of all humans. 3. The Pope - Description: He is a charismatic man, who wishes to overthrow the ravages of monarchy and royalty and enact a theorocracy in the country. - Ability: He visits someone every night and converts them to his group. Those who are converted become aligned with him and lose their original ability. He cannot convert the Dragon and the Saint, however, he knows the Saint's identity. If he is killed in any way, he and his allies perish. The Converts do not share a chat and they only know the identity of their Pope. - Goal: The Converts must hold the majority. 4. Mad Sorcerer - Description: He is a cruel man, who isn't interested in the affairs of the kingdom and instead aims for a mysterious goal... - Ability: He visits someone once in the game and that person is afflicted with a curse. Whoever receives the curse will have no immediate effect, but whomever they visit receives the curse. After a cycle of being cursed, the afflicted's role will be revealed. In the succeeding night, the afflicted dies if the curse is not removed. He is immune from all forms of death except lynching and a visit from the Saint. He may be affected by the Pope and Princess. If he dies, the curse is removed from all afflicted. - Goal: Annihilate the most people (or accumulate the highest individual kill count) through the curse. 5. Dragon - Description: A weakened yet still powerful, destructive Dragon. - Ability: Anyone who visits the Dragon suffers from its fiery attacks. - Goal: Have three players visit you and die. 6. Princess - Description: She survived an assassination attempt from the treacherous King and is thought to be dead. She is leading a rebellion against her father. - Ability: She knows the identity of the King. She gains the ability of the King once he dies. She may not disclose the King's identity or hint at it while he is alive otherwise she is caught and executed. She may visit someone every night and turn them into a rebel. A rebel remains true to his win condition, but loses their ability while they remain in service. Converts may not be turned into rebels. Their votes will be counted as the same as the Princess' despite their actual vote. Once the Princess usurps the King, they lose their rebel status and earn their original ability. The Princess can only be converted once she usurps the King. - Goal: Usurp the king and remove all threats to the kingdom (Dragon, Mad Sorcerer, Heir of the Demon King) 7.Hero - Description: The Legendary Hero who defeated the Demon King, but was unaware he was merely being used by the King. He's planning to retire with a good wife on his side. - Ability: He receives the Goddess' Blessing. Along with this, he is immune to every first visit at night while the Goddess is alive. All throughout the game, anyone who visits him with a killing intent will be cut down instead of him. - Goal: Survive the game together with a female role. 8. Goddess - Description: She has fallen in love with the hero and is willing to give up her immortality to be with him. - Ability: While you are alive, the Hero receives your blessing, which makes him immune to the curse and conversion from the Pope/Princess. You may be converted, however. - Goal: Keep the Hero alive, even if it means your death. 9. Saint - Description: A holy woman, she is unaware that she is being used by the Pope for his own gains. - Ability: She is unaffacted by the curse. Every night, she keeps someone safe from harm while she also removes existing curses. Unfortunately, she cannot save herself. - Goal: Stop the curse from spreading! 10. Assassin - Description: A member of a certain guild who walks in the shadows, he hides in the dark side of the balance. - Ability: Thrice in the game, you may guess a person's role either at day or night (you may only use it once per phase). If you guess their role right, you assassinate them on the spot. You must utter the current role, not the original one. (send through pm or dm) If you use up all three guesses without hitting anything, you die. - Goal: At the start of the game, you receive a random player's name and you must assasinate them. If your target dies through other methods, you receive another name. 11. Prostitute - Description: She is a beautiful woman, who uses her charms to earn herself some money. - Ability: She blocks someone every night. If she visits the Saint, she is purified and loses her ability. - Goal: Visit all living players in the game. 12. Witch* - Description: She is a woman who is madly in love with the hero. - Ability: She targets two people at night and they apply their actions on each other. She also learns the roles of both players. She knows the Hero's identity. - Goal: Eliminate all female rivals and survive with the Hero. 13. Doppelganger - Description: He is a creature who does not have a real face. - Ability: He visits someone at night and takes up their identity. The original owner of the identity becomes the Doppelganger instead and can change faces in turn. - Goal: The Doppelganer cannot win. 14. Inquisitor - Description: He is a loyalist to the king. - Ability: He knows the King's identity. He silences someone every night, disallowing them from partaking in discussion and voting. He cannot silence the Pope and the Saint. - Goal: Ensure the King victors! 15. Important Noble - Description: He is one of the nobles, who earned power through bribery. - Ability: He identifies himself as a noble only. He cannot be lynched even if he turns to a rebel. - Goal: Survive with at least two females 16. Noble - Description: One of the nobles, who is a very neutral man when it comes to politics. - Ability: His vote counts as 2. - Goal: Survive with the Princess or King! 17. Minor noble - Description: One of the nobles, a mere merchant. - Ability: He identifies himself as a noble. Every night, he randomly switches positions with another player, redirecting all actions to that person to him, and vice versa. - Goal: Survive! 18. Sage - Description: An old wise man who joined the hero's party - Ability: Every night he can cast mirror magic at someone, anyone who visits the one affected will visit themselves instead.(they wont know it however) - Goal: Successfully kill a killer role by making them visit themselves or in case of mad sorcerer, just force him to get cursed. 19. Adventurer - Description: A man who aided the hero's party in information gathering. He has a lady waiting for him back home. - Ability: Every night he can visit someone, he will know who visited the person at the end of the night. If you visit the seer, **all night actions are voided. (his visit is high priority but its effects will be somewhat late compared to others cuz of the nature of effect) - Goal: Reunite with the Seer twice. 20. Seer - Description: A lady who can somewhat see the future. She's waiting for the man she loves. - Ability: Every night, she visits someone and the person she visits receives a random piece of information. If she visits the adventurer, **all night actions are voided. - Goal: Reunite with the Adventurer twice. 21. Jester - Description: A creature who terrorizes people every 27... Wait! You're in the wrong story! Well, might as well leave this place with a grin HeHeHe! - Ability: You have plot armor, which protects you from getting killed once at night. - Goal: Get yourself lynched. 22. Creepy Lady - Description: A strange lady who no one seems to know... - Ability: You can give out a doll at night (only one doll per game). The doll can be passed around by the one who got it. - Goal: Wins when whoever has the doll dies at night. 23+ ??? will be added if we actually reach this amount of players *the witch can affect the heir **this clause only happens once per game V. Rules Reveal hidden contents (1) The Reborn Forum rules apply here. (2) All Player Discussion must be kept in the thread; mandated special private chats may also be utilized. Other forms of contact outside of these such as Private Chats without the Host’s permission, IRL contact, and other methods are not allowed. (3) Day Phase lasts for 48 hours. Players must make at least 2 posts and vote per day phase. Failure to meet this requirement for two day phases (even non consecutive) will result in replacement or mod intervention. (4) Voting is done in the format: [Eliminate] Player Name or in similar formats. Changing of votes may be done in this format: [Unvote] Player Name. All votes must be placed in bold or they are not counted. In the case of a tie in votes, the king/princess vote will happen but if somehow they can't vote a tie just means no lynching. (5) Night Phase lasts for 24 hours. Players are not allowed to comment in the thread. Violation of this rule will result in warning (1st offence) and disqualification (2nd offence). (6) Sharing of Role PMs – through screenshots, verbatim copying, or other forms – to other players is illegal. Consequences will be given to violators. (7) If you are eliminated in any way, you may have a final post, that will not reflect critical game information such as night actions and the like. (8) Actions – day or night – should be sent to me via PM (Forums) or DM (Discord). (9) Editing of posts is discouraged. If you have minor corrections, you may do so, but if you wish to have additions, you must make a new post or quote your previous post if you wish to highlight the addition. (10) Respect the host and other players! Have fun! VI. Important FAQs Reveal hidden contents 1. If a player achieves their goal does the game end? -It depends If there are other goals that are still achievable the game will still continue. The player who achieved their goal still participates until the game ends. So, like I said in the opening narrative you may win but its not guaranteed you'll be having a happy ending but don't worry that will mostly be flavor text. 2. When will the game end? -The game ends once there're no more achievable goal or if the king/princess/heir/pope achieves their goal. 3.How will the MVP be chosen? -It will be chosen among those who achieved their goal. 4.Could we see the priority list? -of course! Here it is: Assassin*>prostitute>minor noble>witch>Adventurer>Seer>Saint>sage>doll**>inquisitor>heir>sorcerer>princess>pope>doppel *by default the fastest but he can actually decide his own priority. Will it actually affect the game? Who knows. :^) **if you want to pass the doll you can do it together with your night action but the doll remains the same priority.(also, this counts as a visit for those of the roles who normally dont have a night action.) 5. What happens when we win and the doppelganger steals our role? -the win is being held by the role not the player thus by the end of the game whoever is holding the winning role will be the one considered winner. 6. How about the pope converting us when we already won? -The pope changes not only your role, but also your wincon so pretty much no win for you unless you help him. Also, the game will start when one of the current mafia games is over and we have enough players or 3 days after one of the current mafia games are over whichever is faster. We might also hit the holidays so with that being said 24,25,31 and jan 1 (on top of my head...) this dates effectively adds 24 hrs to whatever the current phase on those days.(whether it be day/night phase) Just tell me if there are other dates we should note of so we can include those! As long as the curse stops from spreading out the saint wins meaning her goal is a bit flexible and doesnt completely require her to do it herself. The world itself told him to protect every life forms that shall live on its surface and that he did. The planet breathed more life upon its surface and eventually created a partner for the man and that's how the demon race prospered. Eventually, life prosper and it was good. Or so t'was supposed to be, until gods, beings from a different dimension, took interest upon the planet~~" The king was not even listening to the play prepared for him for he was staring at a certain noble and is waiting for that noble to drink the poison-laced wine his men prepared. When suddenly, the play was interrupted by a messenger. "Your highness, the hero had slain the Demon king and is now returning from the front lines as we speak!" The king showed a surprised expression only for a moment but immediately returned to his poker face. He's now plotting the demise of the hero. Meanwhile at the ruins of the demon king's castle, the adventurer is telling the hero how excited he is to see her girl.
