Stefen
Hi all. I'm looking for team members to develop a game based on an idea I have in my head. Due to my work and family, I won't be able to invest much time to learn how to make the game, therefore I need someone to help me realize it =( In terms of personal contribution, I can help in writing and giving ideas. Once the game is out I can try to market it for some extra cash for the team members. I do not mind that the main credit goes to other people; I just want that idea to be realized before I get too old lol. I would like to stress that it is merely an idea at this moment, and I'm still alone. I would love to have a team to make it happen, as a team. I understand I won't be able to help in terms of programming and developing, and I won't take credit for it. Game concept: -Open world concept, where players can choose the route of gym battles they wish for. You can start with fire -> water -> psychic etc, your call -True badge concept, IMO gym leaders are supposed to be OP, and they are taking it easy on newcomers. You'd need to beat the gym leaders of each type at full strength to obtain their badge -Most area of map is accessible right off the bat, so you can catch whatever type of pokemon you wish to plan your team (ie at lv1 you can go to magma area to catch a fire type, then to the ice area for ice etc) If there's any mistake in what I wrote, or if there's any inquiries, do let me know! Daniel Blackworth
I can't join because I have other more important things to me and I have other reasons, but I would like to comment to point out some things. This is in no way offensive; only some points to look upon. Firstly, I think you need to learn a bit more about game development from tutorials or resources posted by other people online. It's best to have at least adequate knowledge on what a game requires and what processes are needed to be able to develop a game fully. Doing this helps you relate to your team members even if you may not be in charge of their specific responsibilities. Secondly, I believe you should present the basic idea of how your intended game works and its concept as people may not be encouraged to join a project without any context provided. You should try to make a post surrounding your plans and what the game will probably look like. This way there will be better discourse between interested people. Thirdly, I don't think it's that easy to market a game, but if you're considering making a fan game of any kind, it's not allowed as far as I remember to make such with plans of earning profit from it. Stefen
1) I am reading here and there whenever I could. I travel often for work so I can read through my phone, but can't actually make the game because my PC is at home. 2) Is it ok if I share with you my idea (its written in a word file), and you advise me how much should I share? 3) Not necessarily legally lol
Phi-Bi
First, congrats for having the courage to develop a game. Many people have ideas but most of them don't have the courage to realize it due to the sheer work of developing a game. If you are more of an idea/writer person than a developer person, I'd suggest you to become part of other team instead of insisting to lead a project--considering how your real life work require you to travel often. I believe that there are people out there who is looking for an idea or writer to polish their game. Here's one recruiting thread I found: Spoiler https://reliccastle.com/threads/1212/ Other options is to try develop the game yourself which you must learn yourself. This channel should help you how to start: Spoiler Anyway, good luck and hope your dream comes true~

Stefen
@Phi-Bi I don't mind others taking the lead, however I am quite adamant on a few things (a.k.a. my fantasies), which is the shape of the map, and a particular set of rules, which is why it may be hard. I also personally dislike fan-made pokemons, and I prefer the original ones made by nintendo to avoid confusion. As for developing and starting my own, my concern is by the time I'm done, we're all grandparents. I recognize my lack of skills in computing, therefore to be realistic and for a better quality game I need other's help. Is it possible I start a PM with you and @Meteor Admin Divergent, so you can take a look and advice accordingly?
