yeah, though if my beta experience means anything, a lot of these could include typo's and tile errors that take only seconds each to fix. either way this wave of testing is way faster than the last two so far.

It's probably because the development pace has been up for these few weeks. The Testing's pace is up as well, and It's most likely going to be until the Community release.

Ah man can't wait for the alpha testing to be over ~  sucks that i cant join in the beta testing since im not a veteran

Don't be too sad. I've beta tested other games, and trust me its not everything its cracked up to be. Its far more enjoyable to simply wait for them to be done and play the ironed out version.

Finding out the dev team had been playing around and forgot a certain Techie Jonathan with a lvl70 Mega Rayqay right outside the Grand Hall certainly made me laugh. Tomas the little train too. The rest of the enjoyment while beta testing is to help fix a game that's (objectively) really well-made and has (personally) kept me company for quite some time now.

Actually....

  Hide contents

The Jasper Ward Prophecy was of a world where the PC never existed, and that they, and the current timeline, was created by Anna who made a wish upon Jirachi after Reborn fell to Meteor.

Oh..............That does make more sense. But, it mentions future, in the beginning of the prediction....so, not sure.

Fern was supposed to be there. It's his future the protagonist steals

Oh I can appreciate that. I'm just saying that most people want to beta test specifically to play the game early, when that's really not what Beta testing is, and it involves far more work than is generally understood. That's not to say you can't enjoy doing so, but as you noted, the enjoyment you get is different than simply playing it.

Just wondering, do Beta testing, and testing in general include only the upcoming episode content or the whole game ?

Whole game. You can start anew, from the beginning all the way to the end of the tested episode's content, or import any save file you may have already.

What parts of the game you test, is up to you.

Again.

Close, but not quite right.

What she says is that she cannot see your future, but she can see a world where the Player didn't exist and tells the story of that world.

I took it as "What I can see about your future is a world in which you do not exist at all". It could be interpreted that it was the original timeline that was erased by Anna, or that we will get to "see" in the future.

Can't decide now if I should apply - I like the technical side of any process, testing, creation, but on the other hand I know it will take some part of the joy out and will kill the atmosphere, and this episode is story-driven. On the other hand, some kind of a new experience.

I've beta tested this game for probably about 4 years and just had my first experience alpha testing, and I can say that it in no way kills the atmosphere of the story.  Sure you'll find some bugs that can be funny or make things a little easier or harder than they should be, but the story holds true throughout the entire experience and I'd say you should give it a try if you think you're willing to put the time into it.  Plus there's always the perk of knowing the events of the episode before others do, and that's a fun secret to sit on.  Makes these theory discussions in here all the more entertaining.

I've actually only beta tested Episodes 15-17 which in all honesty is the bulk of the wait time on the game. Anyways, the beta test does come with some perks such as it being much easier to avoid spoilers and the fact nobody will flat out tell you the answer (we used to be more trollish when community begged beta testers to tell them where things were) but the biggest difference is just errors. Beta usually had certain kinds of errors such as the reflect exploit which were fun to use, but there also were balance changes before it hit community. I know Ciel and Amaria got team changes going through the phases and pulse Swalot was nerfed. It's mostly small stuff, but community is a better experience than Beta in terms of the game itself.

I do want to say the early access does come with a little price. If you aren't willing to give roughly a paragraph long post of feedback as well as report I'd say 10-30 bugs, I wouldn't apply to beta test. A bug is simple stuff like tile errors (aka tiles you shouldn't be able to walk on but can or tiles that you can't walk on but should), typos, crash errors, sprite errors (I'm going to check if those certain mega sprites are fixed like Mega Sceptile), and anything that doesn't look right. It's not a lot of work, but that's kind of the minimum of what Ame is looking for when accepting people. That and...people who wouldn't leak or spoil the game.

Thx for your answers guys, this gives me some insight into how the whole thing looks - doesn't seem like something I would regret, and giving a feedback and reporting isn't much of a problem to me.

So just touch everything until the game hopefully breaks? I could probably manage to do that.

@Khaisz

Breaking the game is alpha's main purpose.

You can either start a new one or wonder around some previous areas to check for AI and battle problems.

Tiles errors, lines breaking, sprites having some issues, and a lot more of aesthetics are easily fixed, so they are not top priority.

Guys, from minor tweaks, would it be possible, to make the area near the sister's cottage burnt after we burn the field in-battle? Just the strip between the fighters. Personally, I like such small details, but I'm not sure how much of a work effort it would take.
