Rainlove
I'm guessing either tomorrow or Monday. I'm re-doing my run~
laggless01
Keep in mind that the fixes themselves combined could also lead to (finding) new bugs, so don't get too hyped for an early release.
Commander
For those of you debating on whether or not you should redo your saves...I'll keep giving my advice of play the new content first then go back to do a replay. It'd really suck if you missed something redoing the game again causing you to have to replay the game an additional time that could have been entirely avoided. I have only two playthroughs of one from E7 (Up through E10 Radomus) and one from E11 (current run). Once you complete the main campaign, I'd then suggest restarting to go for the extended ending in E19 once we have everything figured out (aka when the final version is released). All I can say are things of very little value sadly but there aren't very many major changes in this episode compared to E17 for previous areas. Some changes did happen though. I found a few obscure ones most people won't be able to find or tell. As for a release date: fixing all bugs =/= instant release of an episode. It will take at least a full day to have the episode uploaded and the post ready alone. Uploading stuff is a pain in the ass. I'd say Tuesday or Wednesday is a more likely time for it to come out but anything could happen. My advice is expect a date later than seems logical and you'd never be disappointed in a release earlier than that. Hopefully the episode is really clean in comparison to the Beta. Not saying the beta was bad, but it did need some polishing.

Not saying the beta was bad, but it did need some polishing. I'm guessing that you're gonna have to upload anywhere from 600 to 800 Megabytes of data, maybe less if you compress the audio files. I am aware that relative to the size of a normal fangame, this is a huge estimation gap.
Khaisz
So we went from like 2000 bugs to 400 just by fixing AI? Woopie! Maybe it won't take 2 months until Community Release.
Equitia
OMG. I was under the impression that the beta testing would have several cycles or bug reporting and fixing. It only occurred to me this morning that it would be the same as the other testing and we were only three hundred some bugs away from community release. Yesssssssssss. TwilightCoda
@CommanderThis may be an ignorant question, but were you implying that the main story will be finished in Ep18, and that 19 is the "Epilogue", if you will?

I don’t think he was. It’s fairly common knowledge that episode 19 is our last gym battle, our elite 4 battles, the champion and/or final boss battle, the conclusion of the story, and the post game. So unless things have changed plot wise since alpha and beta tests, you won’t see the conclusion of the story until episode 19.
Zander
I can't wait to replay the game after episode 19! Hopefully there is some method to transfer pokemon between save files. Otherwise we'll just have to trade with reliable people to get our pokemon or something. But finally seeing the story in it's full light and maybe even chosing different paths would be amazing to experience in full. Plus with all pokemon added it's going to be pretty cool to replay. There is a shared PC box mod - you can transfer mons between save files using the shared box. I believe links are outdated for now, but upon every episode's release modders update them for current version. Also, you can try opening two game instances at once to trade with your other save - it requires some ju-jitsu and juggling with save files in between opening instances, there is a stability issue (one bad click, boom, game freezes for good), but it is doable. The mod sounds perfect. Maybe Ame will actually make it a game feature. Because the opening two saves at once sounds pretty risky. Is there even a way to trade between games with the same account in the first place? Well, thanks for the info.

I doubt that will become a thing. The thing about mods is that they are a use at your own risk. If your game gets corrupted or you hardlock your game because of it...that's on you. I'm also pretty sure Reborn is in it's final stretch which probably will focus on making what it has be the best it is instead of trying to jam all this new stuff in at the last minute. Polishing is way more important at this point over quantity of QoL features. It's possible, but not likely. 4 hours ago, Chameleon109 said: @CommanderThis may be an ignorant question, but were you implying that the main story will be finished in Ep18, and that 19 is the "Epilogue", if you will? It's been stated numerous time that the game is 19 episodes long plus the postgame which will be included with E19. The story is altered by the choices you make earlier in the story such as the Maison fight in E15. We don't know how the plot will be effected by our choices in E19 and changes could happen then so restarting now might be a waste when you could wait a year for a even better experience. Seems like a huge waste if you ask me. Anyone would probably like to use the team members they raised on their own but each game might be it's own story. I guess everyone will start going to the people who hand out free IV bred pokemon and stuff.

It is possible to trade between two save files of yours from the same PC! I have been doing that, since forever! You need to make two online accounts, open one instance (window) of Reborn with one save file loaded on it, then rename save and open a second instance of Reborn with the 2nd file loaded on it! Alternating (clicking on) between them, each and every step of the way (1 step at a time, take great care) and provided that your synch is correct, you can reach the trading screen just fine! If you did something wrong, it will crash; it also has a slim chance to crash anyway, but this doesn't happen often. The only drawback (or not?), is that one window will freeze, while the other will complete the trade (which means one pokemon permanently lost and at the same time, an easy way to "clone" pokemons/items). If you experiment a bit, you will know which one does (freezes) and "rig" your trades between your save files, exactly as you need to. Hard, but doable. Well, there is Waynolt's weather mod, which includes "Shared PC Mod". It works nicely, but i think it needs update for Ep18, exactly how it needed one for each new episode, in order to work. Rejuvenation has its own version of this mod, tweaked by another forum member and extracting Reborn's shared box file, plus copying it over at Rejuvenation, makes it even possible to send your Reborn pokemon, all over Rejuvenation! This works, too! While it is true Amethyst avoids incorporating mods directly (as well as having announced something similar ages ago), episode 18 DOES contain one mod (the pick up egg with full party and choose which pokemon to send to pc, after you get a new one with full party. But this has to be the exception; which reinforces the rule, too.

If item/pokemon cloning is also possible then that's great. I'll have good pokemon in both files! Thanks
Lorans
Hello. So, I haven't played Reborn since E11, and I had a few questions. I'm thinking of restarting when E18 is released. I was wondering if after every episode, more/different wild AND event Pokemon and events in general are added in earlier areas/routes? Or do episodes strictly add to the story? I'm assuming you do add content to earlier area, right?
Developers Marcello Posted August 6, 2018 Developers Share Posted August 6, 2018 We do indeed add content to earlier areas. In particular E17 added Generation 7 and all of it's content, but we change stuff here and there as we go on and have better ideas and such. Lorans
Oh, that's great. I still vividly remember the first half of the game so it's nice to experience something new, even if a little, when restarting. Cheers.

You'll be able to build a much more solid team and you'll understand the story better too. Plus episode 18 is the one where your choices affect the story so it'll be fun.
