Hi, i ve just (few hours ago) updated the game to the episode 17 but there are too many new pokemons/alola forms in the game that I sincerely can't stand. So i've tried to return to the 16.2 version that i had before but the game doesn't work. Is there a way to return to the 16.2 version without losing the saves?

as far as i know you just have to find a place that hasnt changed

i guess the fairy arena will do

All the progress you have made in E17 will be lost, but you can try loading an older back-up. Follow these instructions and once you're in the right folder you'll notice that there are a lot of other files with your in-game name, time and number of badges, rename the game file or delete it and then change the name of one of the others to game. It might not work on the first attempt, but unless you have saved a lot after updating to E17 you should eventually find a file that works.

I would recommend against downgrading to E16 just because you don't like gen 7 mons. You'll be missing all of the content posterior to it: puzzles, sidequests, new areas, story...

The problem is that some new features were implemented in E17 (the control configuration option, I think) which didn't exist before, so a save from E17 will never work in an earlier episode.

Ok, i'll try to follow your instructions. Or maybe i will consider to follow your recommendation and continue to play Ep. 17.
