I'm murdering her after Charlotte, rest assured. Weird sisters. Only one adorable and sane is Laura.

Laura is amazing. And she most likely has OCD or a form of Autism (relatable to this guy)

Healing Solaris because his reasons for being monstrous are understandable (his means and ends still aren't acceptable, by any means), and he's the most wholesome character amongst the game's villains in terms of development and depth, and therefore the best villain so far.

Concerning Cal: I've read a couple of posts in this thread talking about redemption, of how popular and yet boring a theme it is, so it baffles me, to see an utterly cliché Zuko wannabe character, your usual family/self-esteem issues-good boy-gone bad being so popular. Cal is LAME, imo. From his whole onesided competition with his brother to his hurting and traumatizing a kid, he shows he's a pretty miserable fellow. Too worried about besting his brother, too self-centered to realize that emotional matters may be too much for kids to understand. Yes, he changed eventually, but as soon as a character hurts a child for merely failing to understand his petty inferiority complexes, that character oversteps a rather serious boundary, at least to me. I can't put up with Cal really. I'd rather have more Serra, Aya, Luna, Samson and Ciel than Cal.

never understood the victoria slander. She is just misunderstood

That's just the problem with Victoria. She isn't misunderstood. She's a character with about the same amount of depth as a cardboard cutout and just about every time you interact with her she is a hindrance in some way.

I will admit that she did express some signs of character development in E16, and I would like to see some improvement from her. But as of E17, she's a pretty bad character.

She certainly has OCD. Relatable to me. :)

And yes, I love Laura!

Yeah, Laura is great! The whole OCD thing is one thing (I can be very adamant about over-organizing and cleaning things), but she is just a great person. Instead of just harming Meteor grunts in Tanzan Mt., she just incapacitated them with Sleep Powder.

Way to go! You are a good person, unlike your degenerate sisters (okay Charlotte isn't that bad but Saphira is just a cold blooded murderer)

My thing is when she is seen as a hindrance , she only doing so with somebody else in mind. Shelly as young as she is, just saw corey's dead body and the MC just wants to battle her regardless of that fact. Atleast Victoria wanted the MC to wait before actually challenging her to see if she is alright.  its not too much different with KIki as she seems like she is pretty much on deaths doorstep. And Kiki seemed to be like a role model for Victoria so its understandable as to why she wouldnt want the MC to put even more of a strain on her with a battle(although the MC has to help the kids so it may seem reasonable). She may come off as annoying but she isnt being a jerk as much as everybody makes her seem

cliché or not, it works. Cal has always lived in his big brother's shadow and it pissed him off, which is not unusual. The issue with shelly is that he had no control over his anger and completely lost control one day, which again is not too unusual. But that's all in his backstory, all we have seen him do is trying to be a better person. He's at Apothyll mainly to learn how to control his emotions better. Later he meets you and Shelly to confront Blake and show that he actually managed to change. It's a typical redemption story, but it doesn't need to be more than that. As for your Zuko comparison: Zuko is always awesome. being like season 3 him is rarely a bad thing. And while you mentioned Clichés, Solaris can also fall into that category

Are you seriously going to make me watch how Taka dies while I can't do anything to save him again?

@the red guy hey, if you copypaste the list and then edit it instead of copying it all by yourself it's much easier

@the red guy And here i thought, you only hurt Taka yesterday cause you were mad, that Victoria died. But now you've done it.

With now 3 Taka haters, his actual lifetime decreases from day to day :( Sad.

I can't really disagree with some of your statements, I even stated that he did change, but the whole "not unusual" thing kinda irks me tbh. Those sentences could really give the impression that just because certain things aren't unusual, they are universally acceptable and understandable. I can't really understand why a dude would waste precious time in defining his whole existence in opposition to his brother's - a brother who's great at not giving a damn, no less.

Wether the whole thing about harming a kid while under the excuse of "anger issues" is forgivable or not, is a matter of opinion. To me, hardship and problems don't just build character, they reveal character, and the mistakes and flaws of character in a person's past serve as proof of what that individual is capable of if they break or stray from a better path.

Do I respect one's efforts to better themselves? Yes. Do I turn a blind eye to past behaviours I find reproachable? No. To me, a person's past can speak almost as loudly about themselves as their present, it's part of them. That's why I'm not a fan of the whole redemption stuff in culture. It forgets the past too quickly and easily.

hurting someone in a blind rage is never excusable, but I can say that I've done so in the past. it can literally happen to anyone. And Shelly being the one person who understood him suddenly not understanding him.. not too hard to see how he lost his temper.

Just because something happened to you doesn't really mean it can happen to anyone. Self control is a trait that varies from person to person. I have a seriously nasty temper myself. I hate to admit it, but it's ridiculously easy to tick me off depending of the situation, but it never really got the best off of me. You like Cal and obviously Zuko because you can relate to them on a personal level, and that's fine, but not everyone can see those characters as you do. Zuko to me is weak-willed extraordinaire. I'll never forget that shitty move of his on Iroh. Up until the crystal catacombs he was indeed my favourite character, but when he sided with his bitch ass sister to earn the approval of the guy who deformed his face, betraying his real father (Iroh) in the process, the character died for me. I can't relate to Zuko, but that's me.
