[IC] Neon Exodus Evangelion Act 2 - Crossing

There was a desert, as far as the eye could see.

They were inside their Evangelions, but even though the cockpit should be a carefully controlled environment, it seemed that they could actually feel the heat outside.

And they weren't alone - now they noticed hundreds of carcasses of Angels lying in the sand around them, some still twitching slightly - although clearly at Death's door - and a bigger number already rotting in the sun, all with their cores missing. Did they do that? They didn't know.

Aside from the Angels' corpses, another thing now got their attention. A lone tree on fire, right in the middle of nowhere. Although they just had noticed it's presence, it  somehow felt like it had been there forever.

They walked their EVAs towards the tree, drawn by it's strangeness. As they got closer, they started seeing something in the fire, and listening to something other than the sound of the flames consuming the wood. They got closer and closer.

They saw the end of the desert and a narrow sea, or a big river, beyond it. Somehow they knew they had to cross those greenish blue waters to get to the other side, but they didn't know how - where would they find an EVA sized boat to begin with?

And then, as they were looking for a solution, the sea got darker and darker, and suddenly a huge mass of dark blue jumped out of the water, showing jaws so huge that they could swallow them all whole, as if the sea itself took form to get rid of them.

Right before they got helplessly impaled by those huge teeth, the image in the fire changed and they saw the face of a girl with light blue hair and blood red eyes. She looked straight at them and said something, something they knew was important, but that they couldn't hear over the sound of the flames.

Asuka woke up with a scream, jumping up so hard that she hit her head in the bottom of Beverly's bed. "Verdammt"  she cursed as she came to her senses, still breathing heavily. Calm down - the red head thought to herself - She's dead ok? And this was just a dream.

Even so, it had been way too vivid - and she had been way too loud about it, apparently, as the shrink didn't take long  after that to appearat their door with worried expression.

"Asuka? Is everything alright?" Alma asked, her blue eyes scanning the room for the source of trouble.

"Yeah, yeah, just a nightmare. Nothing for you to worry about." The girl answered.

It had already been three days since their fight with the Angel. Kyou and Ahmed were living in the apartments right across theirs, though they hadn't heard much from them since they were still adjusting to their familiar losses. The shrink tried to convince her, Beverly and Ranga that it would be good for their 'friends' to have company to distract them and pass the time, but Asuka disagreed. Sometimes being alone could be the best terapy for this kind of situation.

"Ah, at least it was just that." Alma answered, then changed the subject. "It seems we have a meeting with Admiral Sauer and Dr. Hashimoto this afternoon, so I was going to call you all soon anyway... You girls want some breakfast?"

Satomi

Satomi bolted upright in bed, hand over her mouth to prevent herself from screaming. She'd been having nightmares the last few days - but this was different somehow, she felt. It felt real. She sat in bed for a bit, as her heart returned to a normal pace.

The last few days had been a flurry of activity, following the Angel attack. There had already been work to do setting up the new settlement. The attack basically erased most of what had been done and doubled what was left to do. People kept a wide berth around where the Angel had popped up, and some avoided where the Evas had stepped too. She helped where she could - she was one of the few that hadn't lost anyone in it, so she felt she had to do it, even though she technically didn't need to, being Doctor Hashimoto's daughter.

When she had a break, she was doing research about the Evas from all that time ago. There was frustratingly little information - most of what she could find was public knowledge and taught in schools, and the rest was classified things she didn't have the authority to access. She didn't like not knowing anything, especially when she may have to pilot again, and she couldn't get much out of her father either.

As for the others, she'd been trying to keep in touch. With some it was easier than others. Ahmed wasn't his normal, boisterous self. He was spending a lot of time with his surviving family and seemed eager for her to spend time with him and his mother, and she didn't mind Mrs. Albadhinjan. She'd tried to talk with Ranga and Beverly as well - the former was a nice enough girl, and the latter... she meant well, Satomi was sure. But it was a tad annoying to be called Princess all the time instead of her actual name. Kyou... she wasn't sure what to make of how Kyou had been acting. She'd been pretty depressed, but seemed to be just short of physically clinging to her, so Satomi had been spending a lot of time with... what was left of her family too.

Satomi shook her head, and fumbled around for her glasses. She'd have things to do. She had to make sure Father ate and didn't fall asleep at his computer again...

Ranga

Ranga woke from the dream in a befuddled daze. Her eyes were sore and the pillow wet with tears. She wasn't one to scream in her sleep. She just found it really sad.

Luckily, the doctor was there to greet them in the morning the same as every day. The doctor was as nice as Ranga could wish. She was the one thing keeping Ranga from feeling completely exposed in this new world. In a way, the doctor's presence gave her reassurance and safety. She knew that she could rely on the routine of waking up and meeting the woman once again all over again...

"Asuka, is your head fine? She crawled out of bed and over to Asuka's, placing a hand over at the redhead's...well head. "Did you have a bad dream too? Could it be from the Angels..?" Ranga's face was awash with worry as she gave a light, exhasperated sigh. She smiled at the doctor though. "I'll have some eggs for breakfast!"

Beverly

Beverly eyes snapped open from the combination of Askua hitting her head on the bottom of Beverly's bed and her own dream. She was breathing heavily and shaking from it "That girl again..."  She thought as she calmed down. She didn't know what to make of that dream nightmare or what ever you would call it. The only thing she did know t was the same girl she saw when the Angle first attacked and she was glad that it was dark and Asuka was being loud. So when the shrink came into the room she didn't see Beverly in this state.

Beverly listened in when Ranga came over to her's and Asuka's side of the room "So the Little Miss had a bad dream as well. Defiantly not going to eat any of the Shrinks cooking again for a bit she's probably putting stuff in it to "Help" us and that's whats causing things. She thought.  "I'll make something for myself later. I'm going to take a shower before we end up having to wait for ever again when Ace Pilot there is messing with her hair after hers." Beverly said as she climbed down from her bunk. Not that she took any less time then Asuka did with her hair maybe even a bit longer. '

Not waiting  for any response she grabbed her clothes and headed to the bathroom. Once she was in the shower she sighed and rubbed her side where there was a rather large bruise from where Kyou had punched her after they finally got in a fight that was eventually going to happen though Beverly had no clue what set the girl off she was only trying to help. She smiled a bit at when she remembered the event the little Chinchilla did get away unscathed from it either though she hasn't really been around the girl since it happened to see what she did. Though she did regret getting into the fight if only because of the chastising she got from the shrink after it.

Aside from that tussle Beverly has spent most of the three days at the shrinks place usually by herself or with Asuka and Ranga or that one boy who would come by every so often to bug Asuka about the Angles or the Eva's and she talked with Satomi and Kyou a little before she got in a fight with the latte since she seemed almost attached to Satomi's side for the last few days . She didn't mind the group that much. The Little Miss was rather easy to get along with, though Beverly thought she was a bit to trusting when it came to the Shrink.  She probably didn't have the same number of run ins with them as Beverly did before getting Frozen. Asuka bugged Beverly it always felt like there was something she was hiding but other then that she like the girl well enough she was fun to verbally spare with. The boy was probably the one she didn't like that much. He took  her calling him Lancelot as a complement well the main point of said name sake messing everything up just went over his head it seemed she thought about changing it to Astoflo but she figure the reason why would just go over his head again so she just usually toned him out when he was around. She liked to hang out with the Princess though she would still never come back and try on some of clothes Bevelry had that she thought would look cute on her, and Kyou well was complicated. Beverly wanted to help her and tried but that just ended up complicating things more so right now Beverly was content to leave her alone after all that's how she manged things when her parents died.

Ahmed

The first stage of grief is denial, and it set the stage for the events that played out in the first day. Ahmed had somehow managed to convince himself that his father had somehow survived that eventful day and had simply gotten himself lost and spent the rest of the day holing up somewhere in the savage wilderness, and that he would be back soon with nothing but a wounded ego and maybe a missing limb. He spent the most of the day by trying to help his mother get used to her new condition as best as he could, and he made frequent trips to the medical station to consult a doctor for any advice they could give that would allow her to live a relatively normal life.

He couldn't help but ask the man if there was some drug she could take, or some hopefully tried and tested operation she could undergo that would allow her to regain her ability to walk once more; because after all they were living in a highly advanced spaceship that had landed in a brave new world weren't they? And he did pilot a giant mecha to kick a giant worm thing in the face just the other day didn't he?. The doctor was unfortunately called away to help another patient before he could say anything in response, and after a while he got tired of waiting and simply chose to spend the rest of the day by trying to cheer up his family and periodically calling Satomi to remind her that she is always welcome in his family's house.

He didn't remember what his dream was that night, or whatever it is he dreamed of the night before, and in fact he found himself being unable to remember that much about what happened after he followed his mother back to their new home....or perhaps he didn't want to.

The second stage of grief would be anger, but Ahmed wasn't feeling particularly angry on the third day. His father had yet to return to the Ark, quite possibly because he was dead; yet despite everything Ahmed was still unwilling to let that fantasy go, and he chose to spend most of the third day by gathering up some supplies and surveying the local area in search of his father. He wasn't really surprised by how....broken the settlement was, as he was admittedly guilty for potentially destroying some of it by accident during the fight against the Angel. He eventually found himself getting sidetracked on his original goal as he couldn't stop himself from trying to help out wherever he can; because after all it is what his father would do in this situation after all; if he was you know....around

By the time he got back to the Ark it was almost time for whatever passed for 4ish PM on this new world, and he decided to have a nice little chat with Satomi about nothing particularly important or interesting. After an hour or so had passed he decided to get up and say goodbye before he knocked on the door to the shrink's home and visited the four or so other people he had met on that fateful day. He was quite surprised to learn that Beverly had already forgotten his name despite them having fought together less than three days ago. Although he didn't really mind her calling him "Lancelot", as despite the man's failings he was still a peerless knight who in a particular example could bring a man back to life by simply crying on them for a couple of awkward moments, and he found himself jokingly asking her "If I am Lancelot, then does that make you Sir Kay?", to which she could only respond by frankly dismissing him and walking away. Although he did make sure to tell her that he would be happy to answer any questions she had about the Arthurian myths.

He then left to help his mother and sister prepare a rather pleasant dinner after he had a very brief conversation with Asuka (Well he said conversation but all he did was say "Hi" and she closed the door on him), and a much longer one with Ranga that ended with him stating that she could come and visit him and his family anytime she wanted, and that she needn't hesitate to call him over if she just wanted to talk.

He had difficulty with sleeping that night, and he tried his best to keep Satomi just as awake with a series of messages to try and ward off the odd feeling of loneliness he had. He eventually fell asleep with the practice rapier (Heavier than usual) his father had gifted to him more than a century ago cradled in his hands.

Bargaining is the third stage of grief, and Ahmed's mind was certainly doing a lot of it on the third day as he tried to justify his belief that a presumably wounded 40 year old engineer could survive in unfamiliar wilderness for two days straight, and he couldn't help but admit that even his cool survivalist father would probably find it hard to do so without any equipment. Yet despite everything he couldn't help but cling onto his belief, as after all...they hadn't managed to find his body yet right?.

He took his rapier with him as he left to search for his father and trying to help out who ever seemed as if they needed any help. He then tried to glean any amount of information he could about the Angels, the EVAs they piloted, and how to best fight using them from Asuka. Which was an activity that could be best described as him spending the rest of the day by shadowing her until she finally gave up and sat down before she gave him a few piloting tips, told him some stories she heard about the special weaponry used by Angels on Earth in surprising detail. She then finished the Q&A session by outright telling him to start practicing some martial arts (presumably because of how poorly his first Angel fight went), which he responded to by simply pointing at the practice sword he was carrying and telling her that he knew how to fence. She seemed to not believe him and asked him for proof of his claim....and he replied by walking back to his house and unpacking his coveted first place trophy in NERV-03's annual junior's fencing competition and ran back to the shrink's office to show it directly to her.

Everything after that was a blur of activities that involved giving his relatives some love and affection to try and help them come to terms with their father's dea-disappearance, trying to hug Satomi and talking to her about what he managed to learn about the ANGELs, and practicing his fencing for the first time in a century (He found that the novelty value of saying that was greatly lessened by how often he was saying it); before he ate his dinner and went to sleep with both of his hands grasping his sword.

Depression is the fourth stage of grief, but depression wasn't the correct word to describe what Ahmed was feeling after that particular nightmare. For it was abject terror that caused him to practically leap out of the bed with the sword in both hands, it was a tad bit of impotent rage that caused him to bring the blunt blade down on his hopefully non existent foe as he fell on the cold and hard floor. But of course neither of those emotions were what caused him to lay down his sword and use his communicator to write down as much as he could about his nightmare, as he honestly felt that it might be a good idea to tell Doctor Alma about it...later.

Kyou woke up in her room in a cold sweat. What the hell was that? She groaned as she flopped back down. That blue haired girl. . . why was she there? Maybe it was just the association in her mind, or something. It was just a nightmare, right? Like she didn't have enough scary things to think about while she was awake. Kyou grunted again as she rolled off of her bed, feet haphazardly hitting the floor. She was still sore from the other day; stress from piloting the not-robots aside, she'd gotten into a scuffle with Beverly, and the French girl hadn't exactly gone down in a heap. She felt bad about it, though, reflecting; Kyou didn't actually think Beverly had meant anything that bad.

. . . She could still afford to be a bit less bitchy, though.

Other than getting into fistfights, she'd spent the last few days alternating between moping and spending time with Satomi trying to take her time off of things. Kyou would never admit it aloud, but she was sort of relying on the girl's relative stability to prop up her own. Ahmed was nice enough but dealing with his own problems, Ranga didn't seem to want to talk to her much at all, Asuka was distant, and Beverly was. . . Beverly. It just wasn't right, waking up in a strange place without her mother around. Okaa-san. . . I'm sorry. Her father wasn't exactly doing well either, having known the woman for longer than Kyou (obviously) and missing a limb to boot. To make matters worse, she just plain didn't have anything to do. Security was a lot tighter around here, so she couldn't just disappear into the maintenance tunnels, and it's not as if her father was doing a lot of anything that she could tail him during. Her mind was left to wander down what dark roads it might choose.

She sighed. If I don't get moving, I'm not going to be able to start. She hoisted herself up the rest of the way off of her bed, sloughed off her pajamas and put on what passed for clean clothes by her standards (they didn't slide out of her hands when she grabbed them.) Her father was still asleep, but she doubted she'd be able to return herself to such a state, so she decided to head across the hall. Satomi was probably busy with her dad. . .

A knock sounded at Alma's door.

"Yeah I´m fine, thanks." Asuka answered the younger girl while gently putting her hand aside. She wasn´t a fan of physical contact from people she barely knew, but it was getting harder and harder for her to get mad at Ranga, whatever the reason. Maybe it was because she was the youngest and more child like of the whole group, without all the teenager drama the others always brought into any conversation.
"So you had a bad dream too uh? Well, if something like that Angel didn't scare us, nothing else would." She had a long story with Angel related nightmares (although not many as vivid as this) and so it wasn't a surprise for her that her roomate started to have her own. It didn´t even cross her mind it could be the same dream.

The other people that Asuka spoke to in the last few days were, basically, Beverly and Ahmed. Although the former only brought to the table some verbal (and in that one case with Kyou, physical) altercations, the latter seemed to be focusing his grief in something useful, at least. He bothered her a whole day, but at least she discovered a way he could  be useful for the team, if all that talk about fencing was true. And Kyou somewhat showed she wasn´t half bad in a fist fight too, so that wasn't a complete waste of time either.

Now since Beverly beat her to the shower today (she was caught off guard this time), she headed for the dining room with Ranga and the shrink. After asking the same as Ranga for breakfast, she heard someone knocking on the door. It was Dr. Neummann who opened it.

"Oh, Kyou! How are you doing, sweetie? Please come in, the girls are already up." Alma greeted the girl gently, closing the door after her. "Did you have breakfast already? Would you like to join us?"

Satomi
Daisuke was, as one might expect, already up and working furiously in his terminal. At least he had a cup of coffee in his hand and a pack of crackers on the desk near him, so Satomi wouldn´t have to worry about him passing out from malnutrition.
"Good morning Satomi. We have a meeting with the Admiral in about two hours." He said, looking up from the screen for once. "Did you sleep well?"

Ahmed prayed twice before he started to dig into the food his family had prepared for him, he made one a perfectly audible and short one to quietly thank the lord for the new day and the meal they were about to eat (For Ahmed knew that the others wanted to eat soon), the dawning of a new day, and his father's soul, and a quiet and barely audible one for his father's continued survival...for he had yet to see a body, nor hear anything about one being found.

He then spent a few moments after the meal to help the others clean up and to have a small conversation with his mother to check in on her and how she was feeling today/what she was planning to do. After he was satisfied with how his mother wasn't planning any activity that would require him to be present, he decided to say his goodbyes and walk out of the door...but not before he sent a short text message over to Satomi that simply said. "Had a weird EVA related dream last night, might have had something to do with that conversation I had with Beverly's mom about EVA fighting tactics and Angel history. What's going on with you today?".

Kyou nodded. "I'm, fine." Her voice had the slightest hitch; she really wasn't fine, and Alma likely knew better, but she was up and moving, which was good by the standards of the last few days. "I didn't eat yet. I, uh, just woke up." Kyou elected to not mention the dream, for the moment. She just wanted food in her belly and company, not to have a (well-meaning, but still unwanted) conversation about how she was dealing with. . . things. That's probably all it was, just a nightmare about the most terrifying experience of her life. Kyou gave a polite bow to Alma - something she'd only started doing two days ago, not that Alma would necessarily know. "I'd love to have breakfast with you."

"Great! Then you can sit at the table with Ranga and Asuka. Beverly is taking a bath and should join us soon." Alma told her with a smile. The psychologist then headed into the kitchen and started preparing their meal. "Would you girls like scrambled eggs?"

"It's fine by me." Asuka answered. She waited for Kyou to get closer and then greeted the girl with a wave.

Satomi muttered something like 'One minute...' as she wandered to the kitchen to get breakfast being made, and while she was there splashed some water on her face to wake up a bit. She went back to her father. She yawned before responding. "Could've been better... another nightmare." she adjusted her glasses - they were a tad askew, so it was hard to tell whether this was that tic she had when she was nervous or just actually adjusting them. "How early did you get up? Have you had a real breakfast yet? Crackers hardly count." Back into 'concerned daughter' mode. She heard a muffled ringing from her room - she'd pick it up in a bit.

Ranga just let Asuka move her hand aside without much argument. Honestly she was really glad that the redheaded girl even talked to her. From how she obviously felt about their group from the start, Rang couldn't have guessed she would ever warm up even by a little bit, yet she was seeing changes, as small as they were. Each one was very welcome. She greeted Beverly with a "Good morning!" before waving her off on her way towards the bathroom. She followed Asuka and the Doctor to the dining table.

"Kyou-!" Ranga jumped up from her chair and ran up to Kyou before stopping herself next to the other girl. She wasn't sure these last few days how Kyou would react to conversations and everything...so she just kind of avoided them altogether. Even now her eyes were shifting downwards and she'd obviously just held back what almost could've been a warm good morning hug. Now that Kyou was here, though... "We've just woke up too. Asuka and I had nightmares." She said with a smile, swaying on her heels. She hadn't noticed she was barefoot. With a determined breath she grabbed Kyou's hand and led the girl over to the table, sitting her down on a chair next to herself.

"Scrambled eggs is fine, Doctor-!" She added when they were all ready at the table.

Kyou frowned slightly as she was led to her seat. "That's weird, I had a nightmare too. . ." Or maybe it wasn't. Ranga was. . . well, technically a century older than her, but in the ways that mattered even younger than Kyou. "Oh, uh, yeah, scrambled eggs are good." Alma was basically Kyou's only source of well-cooked food. Her father had never been a great cook, and he wasn't exactly taking the loss of his wife well either; lots of frozen dinners and the like when she'd eaten at her new home in the last few days. "What was yours about, anyway?"

"Oh it was really weird. I saw all these Angels in a desert...and we were there too in our EVAs." Ranga explained. "A-and we got to a tree on fire. And a big sea creature almost ate us but then it turned into a blue haired girl! I couldn't hear what she said, though." She looked at Kyou with a worried expression. "I thought maybe the fight with the Angels caused this nightmare."

"That's. . . weird. . ." Kyou repeated. There was no way, was there? "Were the Angels dead?" That blue-haired girl, too. Kyou had thought it was just a coincidence, or just an association with the girl's mysterious appearance and that of the Angels and Evas. Maybe it still was, but two people having the exact same nightmare? "In the dream I had, we were walking through the desert, with tons of dead Angels around. And we had to get across the ocean for some reason, until that giant sea monster showed up like you said. The tree was there, too."

"W-whoa!" Ranga yelped in surprise. "That's exactly the same as what I saw!" Could it be that they had the same nightmare? Then did Asuka have the same nightmare too?

The young girl turned to the redhead and tilted her head. "Asuka, was your dream similar to that too?" She asked. "B-because if we all had the same dream then it must've been the Angels' doing-!"

  • 2 weeks later...

Ahmed waved goodbye at his family as he walked out of the door of his home, and headed straight to knock on the door of Doctor Alma's home. As he wanted to check up on how she and the people who were presently squatting in her home were doing. He then took out his phone and sent a message to 'Sir Kay' that simply said "Good morning Kay! Did you sleep well? And do you have any plans for today?."

Asuka froze for a moment, a shiver running down her spine while she carefully considered her answer. She could lie in order to keep the girls from getting too scared, but if Satomi and Ahmed also dreamed the same thing then it would be for naught.

"Y-yeah. My dream was exactly the same thing."  Based on her previous experience with Angels, it was pretty likely that Ranga was right about the cause of her shared dream... But the presence of that girl in it might mean something more than that. "And yes, this could be some sort of mind attack by an Angel. I've s-" She stopped herself in time. "read about them being able to do that kind of stuff, but I think if that was the case they'd be more aggresive."

Alma was done with the eggs by them, and brought the food to the table. Asuka thought for a moment if it was a bad thing that the shrink heard them talk about all of that but, before she could go down that train of thought, they heard someone knocking on the door and the woman went to answer it.

"Ahmed! Good to see you! Will you join us for breakfast as well?" She asked upon seeing the boy.

Daisuke's face assumed a guilty expression as Satomi asked him that. "I... No, not really." He answered the second question, hoping she would be happy with that and wouldn't make him assume that he hadn't slept  at all. Better to change the subject "Could you make sure the other children are ready for the meeting? I'm afraid Dr. Neummann might be a bit... too kind to them. It would be bad if they overslept today."

Satomi squinted at him suspiciously - she'd noticed how he avoided the first question. "...I'll text them. Then, I'm going to make some food and you will eat something. And then I'm probably going to bug you until you take a nap because falling asleep during a meeting is a terrible idea." she said, before heading back into her room and picking up the phone... comm... whatever it was. She raised an eyebrow as she saw Ahmed's text, and shot off a response - Weird. I had a dream like that. Know if the others are up? - before texting the others that her dad wanted to check if they were up. After that, she headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

A few minutes or so after the food was set out Beverly came out of the bathroom looking at her com. "Hey Shrink is there a way to block people on this thing?" She asks before looking up from her com. Looking over the people sitting at the table, her gaze stops on Kyou for a moment before she turns and looks for the Shrink. "Why did you send me something when you were coming here anyway its kinda pointless.' She said looking rather annoyed as she saw Ahmed at the door, before giving an exasperated sigh and walking at into the kitchen and opening the refrigerator looking for something she could make for herself.

Busted. Great... Sometimes Daisuke was genuinelly surprised by Satomi's ability to read him. He stopped working for a moment and looked at his daughter preparing the breakfast. "You know, sometimes you sound just like your mother, Satomi." He said, not knowing exactly why he did so. It was pretty rare for the two of them to talk about his wife.

Ahmed reached out to try hug Alma for a few moments after she asked her question. "Nah I came here to see how the four of you were doing before I left for the day, although I wouldn't say no to a cup of coffee...if you are offering that is." Assuming Alma decided to accept his free hug, he would let her go a couple of moments afterwards as Beverly decided to yell at him about...something or other. Which is why he decided to walk inside of the room and said. "I didn't think that I would see you out here, don't you spend most of your day by moping inside of a room you locked or something?." as she started to walk inside of the kitchen.

He then turned to face Asuka after she asked him a bit of an odd question, and he shrugged his shoulders before he said. "It wasn't really that much of a nightmare, just a particularly weird and pessimistic dream about how the path we are all currently going down will be both blessed by the God in the burning bus-tree, and will also get us all killed by some giant monster.".

Beverly shot Ahmed a glare that was a bit more hostial then he would be use from her. "I lock the door so i can avoid annoyances. If your on that other side of the lock door what do you think you are then? Now why don't you leave before you burden everyone with your disillusion of finding your dea.........." Beverly's cut her comment off as she glanced over to Kyou before looking back to Ahmed "Never mind your not worth composing a thought on." she said as she went to dig something out of the refrigerator.

She Froze a few moments when Asuka asked about having a nightmare, she was sure she didn't do anything to indicate that she had one when she woke up. After hearing Ahmed replied she spoke "Nope. The only reason I ended up waking up when I did was because a certain person decided to play which is stronger between their head and the bottom of the bed i was sleeping on."  She said in calm manner as she finally decided on just making sandwich for her breakfast.

Kyou was visibly disturbed by the thought. "It's a good thing we're all seeing a psychologist," the tomboy murmured. A mental attack by the Angel, that was a scary thought. Not that basically everything about this place wasn't scary. She'd thought this would be a great new place to explore - not that she hadn't been anxious at all about exiting the familiar world of steel that she'd known her whole life - but now she was suspect of everything. Kaiju erupting from the earth, shared dreams about monsters in the water. . . not to mention whatever the people in charge weren't telling them. Kyou took a few more bites from the breakfast, though the doom and gloom talk was really killing her appetite for anything other than her bed.

Busted.

Satomi had grown quite proficient at reading her dad indeed - she saw the wince when she called him out. Maybe she wouldn't guess it so easily if he didn't do it so much, she thought as she returned to the kitchen - he needed to take care of himself!

Satomi paused as she brought the breakfast back into the room, hearing her father say that. They rarely talked about her, since she'd passed when Satomi was only seven. "...Do I?" she asked, not really sure how to respond to that. Then, a small smile. "Well, if I have to sound like someone, she's a pretty good option."
