I agree that Mega Evolutions should be differentiated from each other simply because of how competitive the Mega team slot can be. Lucario's thing is that it absolutely is a mixed attacker; it's why it's such a good wallbreaker/sweeper, much like Infernape it's incredibly unpredictable. Adaptabillity just gives too much of a boost to both ends of the spectrums, but there's not a lot of abilities that would fit it's mixed attacking prowess well.
