Benefiting one while completely ignoring the other is kinda hypocritical, if you want to be fair. Just because it happened, doesn't mean its okay. At the same time I'd argue that giving a pokemon a mega, just because they happen to be paired with a pokemon that already received one, is an attempt to cover up your mistakes. See M-Gallade, a mega I personally like. It got a nice design and pretty balanced improvements stat-wise, yet the ability is seemingly useless. Given most megas's boosts (and ultimately their uniqueness) stems from their abilities, you'd expect from Gallade to receive similar treatment to Gardevoir who boasts a boosted STAB Hyper Voice, which bypasses substitute, and hits both opponents in doubles. Sure, M-Gardevoir got a +20 in attack, but that's an obvious balancing tactic. Do you think Gardevoir was the only one that got useless boosts? 1) -10 in Spe for Heracross and Garchomp 2) +10 Atk for Alakazam, +20 Atk for Charizard Y, Blastoise, Camerupt and Ampharos, 3) +10 SpA for Pinsir, Aerodactyl, Scizor, Banette, Metagross and Swampert, +20 SpA for Charizard X, Kangaskhan and Medicham note: I'm excluding pokemon that can function as special, physical or mixed attackers (eg Sceptile) 2 pokemon received decreases in vital stats 7 pokemon received small increases in useless stats 7 pokemon received big increases in useless stats 16 pokemon share the same fate as Gardevoir, but for some reason they apparently don't matter, and we're targeting Fairies specifically. All i am saying if Gardevoir did not need Mega then Gallade too, Also i made a made-up Mega in that Custom Mega Pokemon thread,you can't find anyone more than me would like to see a Mega Butterfree. Like for real it's just a speculation from you. Rather ask the ones who actually hurt Gardevoir, why they don't like it. They have obviously other reasons, than it beeing a Fairy. It's not percentual, if you have form 1 with 50/100 hp and you change to form 2, which has 200 max hp then the result would be 150/200 (like it happens with zygarde and power construct), so if it works the same way backwards and you change from shell stance 80/120 to strike stance with 20 max hp the result would be -20/20. That's why megas never alter the hp stat, because it would cause all kind of issues and the only way to get around them is to have the pokemon recover hp upon changing from a form with a higher hp to a form with lower, which would be kind of broken specially if that change happens in the middle of the battle. My target list was: - Blaziken - Lucario (overhyped + broken) - Mewtwo X (not needed + ugly) - Zard X (again not needed but ngl I like the design) - Gardevoir I don't like Mawile either but I wanted to get rid of the unnecessary ones first. But truth to be told I went after Mawile exactly because of the reason you mentioned. Every single time someone hurts a fairy type or fairy leader there's nothing but bitching and whining. The types hurt and heal was weeks ago and yet it keeps coming back as a 'reason why'. It's getting old and annoying real fast. So either I leave Fairy's alone and save us from the salt and the whining or I get rid of them early to get it over with. Because no matter what, apparently we're not allowed to go after them. If you can't handle your favorites being targetted, stop playing imo. And get over it. Hence why I mentioned the SJW similarities. The argument of "who deserves/needs a mega" is totally subjective, and thus needs to be debated on such a premise. If being a pair is an argument, then is should apply to all obvious pairs. (see Gyarados/Milotic or Lucario/Zoroark) If being part of the same evolutionary family is an argument, then it should extend to that. (see Glalie/Froslass) I too wanted to see a M-Butterfree and a M-Raticate. All I got was a Dark/Normal fatter and less usable Raticate-A. Feels bad. Nevertheless, I'm not going to exclude a mega because of the fanbase. In general, if you're not a Normal or Grass type, receiving Fairy as a subtype is an improvement on its own. Back on topic: It seems "red" has been here. Let me fix that.
