Horrible LU Sun Team.

Hey kids, it's Hedron here bringing you another edition of broken LU teams

:D! Today, I decided to come up with a LU sun team with vulpix as my drought-setter. It's pretty broken, but it does work :] Anyway, let's just get into it.

AT A GLANCE

IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS

Vulpix @ Eviolite

252 HP / 160 SpD / 96 SpA CALM

Ability: Drought

Overheat / Power Swap / HP Ice / Will-O-Wisp

Well, I tried to make Vulpix viable. This thing's only real purpose is to set up the sun; with the Overheat / Power Swap combo , it has potential to stop special attackers and with WoW it stops physical attackers, making the cleaning job a lot easier for the rest of the team. HP Ice is just there so I don't get completely shit on by dragons. Power swap also helps with stealing Sword Dances, Calm Minds, and Nasty Plots from opposing pokes.

Magmortar @ Choice Specs

252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP TIMID

Ability: Flame Body

Fire Blast / Focus Blast / Thunderbolt / HP Ice

So, this thing is nothing but pure, undeniable power. Choice Specs Fire Blast completely shits on almost all of the LU metagame, while the move spread makes it that even a neutral hit on pokes like physically defensive gastrodon would still do massive damage.

252SpAtk Choice Specs Magmortar (Neutral) Focus Blast vs 252HP/4SpDef Leftovers Storm Drain Gastrodon (Neutral): 52% - 61% (224 - 264 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.

Nothing is safe. That is all.

Gligar @ Eviolite

252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SpD CALM

Ability: Immunity

Stealth Rock / Earthquake / Roost / Toxic

Gligar provides a really interesting synergy to my team in the sense that it serves several different purposes; it can set up rocks, stall out pokes, and offers a resistance to Ground (which poops on my fire pokes) and Fighting (which poops on my shiftry / everthing else because nothing else to resist fighting). It also provides me with a check to pokes with Stone Edge.

Shiftry @ Life Orb

252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP ADAMANT

Ability: Chlorophyll

Swords Dance / Seed Bomb / Sucker Punch / Low Kick

My physical sweeper. I chose this over Victreebel because it offers another ground resistance.

I was considering a mixed set with Giga Drain, but I ended up choosing this instead. :]

Entei @ Life Orb

252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP ADAMANT

Ability: Flash Fire

Flame Charge / Flare Blitz / Stone Edge / Extremespeed

Interesting Entei set that me and my friend made. It bluffs the choice band, sets up a flame charge, and proceeds (in most cases) to sweep teams. The only poke that is really safe from this is Gastrodon, which I have Shiftry for. This also serves as dual purpose as a revenge killer if anything gets too fast for Typhlosion or Shiftry.

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf

252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP MODEST

Ability: Blaze

Eruption / Fire Blast / Focus Blast / HP Grass

Another massively powerful threat. Full HP Eruption poops on almost every poke in the game, and HP Grass is there for coverage against Gastrodon.

Well, that's my team. What are your thoughts? :P

you need a spinner

typlotion will not be with full hp if you dont have one and that will reduce his eruption power. also it will hurt vulpix a lot and magmortor

You need to put a grass type on there because you have a major weakness to water and I see Shiftry won't be able to cover it or set up if he gets KO'd and if you use a grass type defensive with Chlorophyll then you'll stand against water types a lot stronger.

You should be careful about the amount of fire types on your team.

Currently, not including Vulpix, you have 3 fire types on it. No matter how many counters you get to compensate, there's going to be that big rock/ground weakness that will eat you alive. I recommend switching out at least ONE of them for another type entirely, to also counter threats to your team.

Magmortar is basically a second Typhosion, I recommand switching it out for stallers like Jumpfluff or tanks like Meganuim.

As for Shiftry, Nature Power over Low Kick. Nature Power in competitive will always result in Earthquake, thus giving a massive coverage over Fire and the resisting steel.
