Anyone new here who might be wondering about who can join this little game, the answer is, ANYONE and EVERYONE except for me :P. Reveal hidden contents Well friendly mortals, Mafia is a game that involves mostly psychological analysis that you wont even know you are doing. But the best thing about the game of Mafia? No matter what play style you have, be it Strategic and Statistic (relying on stats to determine your decisions), Follow the Leader Style (sheep (acting based on however someone you think of as being smart instructs others to)) or letting RNGesus decide (random with no particular reason) or even chaotic (anything and everything could be your decision (such as roleclaiming as mafia regardless if you are one, to read town reaction and get an idea of how others might think). In Mafia there is two game phases. Day Phase (This phase lasts 48 hours but may last longer if circumstances of the host change this): During the Day Phase, players will be gathered here in this thread, talking about what happened the night before, who they think should be lynched, if anyone and what they think of the behaviour of others. Night Phase (This Phase lasts 24 hours but may vary with the host's circumstances) During the Night Phase, the thread is considered locked, no one may speak in there during this time (except for someone giving their last word if they were lynched), during this time is when most action occurs, where the abilities of players roles, the mafia's attack and various other things occur. The Game Ends when one of the Factions achieve their win condition or it no longer becomes possible for anyone to do so. Opening Narrative Reveal hidden contents Blind Mafia, a game which will tear down the foundations of Mafia, the mafia have limited information to identify each other and haven't got a shared method of communication. This game will require trust and the players will have to decide if and when role claiming should be done as well as learn to quickly identify who their friends are...will the mafia wipe out the town...or themselves? Factions Reveal hidden contents Town - Uninformed Majority (the nerds): The Town Players will be trying to identify and wipe out the Mafia Agents, they can do this in any number of ways within the rules. They win when all threats to the town are eliminated. Mafia Agents - Slightly Informed Minority (bigger nerds): The Mafia Agents will be trying to wipe out the town and mislead them into lynching themselves. They win when they outnumber or equal the number of town 3rd Party: The 3rd party role has an objective that may align or clash at times or be completely different to that of the town or mafia. Roles Reveal hidden contents 1.) Celebrity (only Town): The Celebrity's identity is known to all at the game start. 2.) Vigilante (only Town): The Vigilante during the night may visit and kill another player. 3.) Doctor: The Doctor may visit another player at night and heal them saving them from death if they were attacked that night by a killing role or mafia, the Doctor's visit also heals bleeding. 4.) Bleeder: The Bleeder is tough and unless lynched any attack on their life will only result in them bleeding, however without treatment they will succumb to the bleeding. (If Night 1, bleeder was attacked, if not healed they will die when Night 2 ends). 5.) Jailer: During the night, the Jailer can lock up a player preventing them using their ability that night but also blocking them from having any other abilities used on them or being attacked. 6.) Gravedigger: As the one responsible for digging graves to bury the dead, they can visit a dead player and learn their role. 7.) Explosive: If he is killed during the night, he will explode killing anyone who was visiting him that night. 8.) Judge: The Judge has final say on undecided matters, due to this, if a majority cannot be reached during a lynch vote they get final say on who is lynched. 9.) Sheriff: Starts with a Gun. 10.) Secret Santa: Has a bag of goodies, during the night they can visit someone and leave their a present, only the one receiving the gift will know what they get, it can be a Gun, Vest, Crystal Ball or Medicine 11.) Armored One: Starts with a Vest. 12.) Medicine Man: Starts with a Medicine. 13.) Time Bomb: Starts with a Bomb, they can choose to visit someone to pass on the bomb, or detonate the bomb during the night. 14.) Enchantress: Starts with a Crystal Ball 15.) Party Host: Once per game, they may throw a party inviting everyone to it and nullifying all other NA's and Mafia Kill attempt that night. 16.) Copycat: Always mimicking people, the Copycat can once per game change their role to that of another player in the game (Night Action). 17.) Mayor: He is very important and special, so his votes are counted twice (this is not shown in public vote count). 18.) Guardian Angel (3rd Party): They have been tasked with protecting someone in the game, they do not care whose side the player is on. Once per game they can use their ability, if the player they are protecting would have died that day/night the Guardian Angel dies instead. 19.) Villager: Has no special ability. (only intend a maximum of 1 villager in the game so more roles will be added if needed) Mafia Kill Ability is randomly selected from a living Mafia Agent to be the one able to do it each Night, they can choose the kill or their ability to use. If they have a non visiting role, the mafia kill adds visiting ability. This is the priority of actions chain: Party Host > Jailer > Secret Santa > Time Bomb > Mafia Kill > Vigilante > Bomb > Doctor > Medicine > Copycat Dead Roles (these are only to give the dead players something to do, have no impact upon the game for the living and wont count towards win rate unless Grand Master Dive-O decides it before this game begins): Sun Spirits: The Sun Spirits are at war with the Moon Mimics for control of the Land of the Dead, the first player to die during the Day Phase goes to the Sun Spirit team (becoming the first one in it) from there further people recruited occurs when the Sun Spirits correctly guess a player who will die during the Night Phase (they must submit their guess during the DAY PHASE) or if they don't get it right, if the Player decided to join them. Moon Mimics: The Moon Mimics are at war with the Sun Spirits for control of the Land of the Dead, the first player to die during the Night Phase goes to the Moon Mimic team (becoming the first one in it) from there, further people recruited occurs when the Moon Mimics correctly guess a player who will die during the Day Phase (they must submit their guess during the NIGHT PHASE) or if a player decides to join them when they guess incorrectly. Items Reveal hidden contents Bomb: Held By the Time Bomb at start, it is passed on to a player when the holder visits someone (it's final stop during the night is decided by the chain of actions). If the holder has no visiting ability, they gain visiting ability while holding the bomb. It will kill anyone visiting the holder and the holder when detonated, wearing a vest will only minimise the damage to bleeding. Doctor cannot stop this kill. Gun: One use kill on someone during the day phase (can be blocked by a vest), has a 50% chance of revealing the shooter unless they are the Sheriff (Sheriff is never revealed) Vest: One use protection from a single kill attempt by gun or Night Actions, bomb exploding or visiting explosive when they die results in bleeding if a vest is held. Medicine: One use heal, will heal self if bleeding or grant ability to visit to non visiting roles, visiting a player while holding medicine will heal them if they were attacked or treat their bleeding. Crystal Ball: When the holder dies, all visitors they had throughout the game up until their death are revealed, the order of visits and nights they occurred are not revealed and the list is in no particular order. Important Notes Reveal hidden contents The Mafia Agents ONLY know the roles that the mafia agents have, not the names of the agents. The Town KNOWS the Mafia Agents will try to identify each other by their role. The Game begins on Night 0 Other than the roles specifically marked as 'Only Town' and '3rd Party' any role could be a mafia agent's role. Rules Reveal hidden contents (1) The Reborn Forum rules apply here. (2) All Player Discussion must be kept in the thread; mandated special private chats may also be utilized. Other forms of contact outside of these such as Private Chats without the Host’s permission, IRL contact, and other methods are not allowed. (3) Day Phase lasts for 48 hours. Players must make at least 2 posts and cast a vote per day phase (they are allowed to cast a No Lynch vote). Failure to meet this requirement for two day phases (even non consecutive) will result in replacement or mod intervention. (4) Voting is done in the format: [Eliminate] Player Name or in similar formats. Changing of votes may be done in this format: [Unvote] Player Name. All votes must be placed in bold or they are not counted. (5) Night Phase lasts for 24 hours. Players are not allowed to comment in the thread. Violation of this rule will result in warning (1st offence) and disqualification (2nd offence). (6) Sharing of Role PMs – through screenshots, verbatim copying, or other forms – to other players is illegal. Consequences will be given to violators. (7) If you are eliminated in any way, you may have a final post, that will not reflect critical game information such as night actions and the like. (8) Actions – day or night – should be sent to me via PM (Forums) or DM (Discord). (9) Editing of posts is discouraged. If you have minor corrections, you may do so, but if you wish to have additions, you must make a new post or quote your previous post if you wish to highlight the addition. Lord Drakyle Posted February 22, 2018 Author Share Posted February 22, 2018 You weren't late still got plenty time, we have enough now to fill all the roles that do something, sign ups will remain open for 24 hours, still room for more people if they wanted, I have extra roles that are kinda like villagers that do something with no real impact to keep the balance in the event that more people join. I WANT TO FIND THE MASTER OF BEANS AND AND AND...." distant shouting could be heard in response, angry, tired people, now awake, one opens their window nearby from a house yelling: "NEWT! SHUT. UP."
