Shing
That Rathalos armor is just like the one my character sports in MH4, bad ass. Also balance changes anyone? http://smashboards.com/threads/magical-engimatic-land-1-1-1-patch-notes.419067/ The shield stun increase tho. Godot
Luigi's down throw also got nerfed. Inb4 salt from Pyr and Omega. Most of the changes are slight damage changes (like .5-1%). And buffs/nerfs to customs.... Meh.
Shanco
The shield stun increase is a big deal. It nerfs characters such as Charizard who rely more on out-of-shield options, while characters with multi-hit moves such as Little Mac and Yoshi can slaughter shields since letting go of shield against multi-hit attacks can be impossible in some cases (take a look at this example from GimR). They also indirectly benefit a slew of other characters, such as Peach, Lucario and Mega Man. A lot of players are claiming this to be a huge alteration to the current meta. Also more shield stun of course means more shield damage, so beware of moves that dealt heavy shield damage to begin with, such as Collarbone Breaker (Ryu's strong F-tilt), Bowser Bomb and Arcthunder (although many of them had their shield damage nerfed, but those three examples were unchanged). Another Felix
I feel like the Shield stun is actually going to help R.O.B. Send out Bernice and if they shield her you can probably have enough time to grab.

And buffs/nerfs to customs.... Meh. LMAO @Godot saying I'll probably be salty. Hell no. D-throw Fair Fair combo is still there. It just gets more knockback at high percentages and doesn't work at 0% for a lot. inb4 salt from Godot. Nair didn't get nerfed either. inb4 double salt from Godot lmao. D-throw to fair fair works on Sheik at 15% and stops working at 45% However this doesn't stop D-throw to fair to u-air which does more damage. All in all this nerf did jack shit to luigi lol. Only real difference now is that D-throw to down-B no longer works as a kill from what I can tell. That doesn't matter because Nair, Bair, F-smash, U-smash and Down smash all still kill easily. This nerf literally did nothing to me. Maybe to other weegee mains but not me. Fireball didn't even catch a nerf. Get loled on Godot Edit: Also don't say Luigi needs double fair above 45%. He doesn't xD
Godot
@general I thought the shield nerf would hurt ROB more than anything since he is so defensive. I would imagine Zelda, Rosie,Villager, and DOGE would also feel nerfed. @ Pyr Luigi did get a buff with the new shield mechanics. He can probably fireball into grab again. Shanco
Luigi is still a notably worse character overall after the changes, even with the shield stun changes; in fact, they work against him since shield stun, when combined with his low traction, makes so many moves safe on block against him as he slip slides away. The changes to down throw also make kill combos more difficult to set up, requiring a good read or punish in order to secure a kill (no more Down Throw into Down B kill, for example). Hitlag increase on Down B makes it easier for opponents to survive through DI or SDI, and the KBG nerf doesn't help either. Fortunately for Luigi, his Down Smash and Down Air got buffed, but that really doesn't do quite enough to compensate. Just makes him a wee bit better at edgeguarding. Godot
No 0%-death combos yo!
Omega_Ra1der
Now since pyrr say it still work on heavy to mids. Lightweights is a problem considering the amount of knockback. The urge to pick up fox in exchange for my link is real.
Godot
Fox struggles with most lightweights since he relies a lot on his combos to do damage. The only light characters he doesn't struggle with are Rosie and Mewtwo.
Shanco
Well yeah, no one struggles with Mewtwo, he's a bad character right now Just give the fella some weight...then he'll be alright.
Shing
For anyone that cares.
Guzam
To be fair, if you're like me, you don't need down throw to tornado at all. Not to mention if you're a good player in general, those buffs to down air will be used to make a good edge gaurding game even better. Not to mention Down Smash isnt needed as much as up-smash which still comes out fast and still kills reasonably early. Forward throw and back throw are still great, as are his tilts and jab. Honestly, d-throw and tornado nerfs while heavy, don't do a whole lot to Weegee unless you previously relied on down throw to tornado a lot. imo Luigi got nerfed, but just by the tiniest bit. Let's talk about god damn Shiek who got no nerfs at all. hmmmmmm.

Don't forget rosalina and luma. They didn't get any nerf too. Also about shield stun thing. Rosalina's one example.

Shadow Tack
the shield thing hurts link quite a bit, since i can't safely grab OOS anymore
Shanco
I think you still can, it ultimately depends on who you are against. The ones it hurts the most are those who have short range (outside of projectiles) and those who rely on OOS options. Luigi and Kirby are two examples that fall into this category. Omega_Ra1der
Hmm, since Luigi is hurt a lot due to changes on shield, falcon can fall that category technically due to no OOS options but his dash is good enough to compensate if you can control it. Guzam
And we all know how fun of a game melee is... Cough cheat dashing, fun canceling and 8 tournament viable characters cough

Guzam
Sigh. Thanks Sakurai. You not only nerfed and didn't nerf a whole bunch of characters, but you broke the game also. Well done.
