Official Super Smash Bros. Thread for Wii U and 3DS

Lotsa smash attacks. I did like that you used forward tilt, but relying on the diagonal down smash can get you predicted and killed. I also noticed that you fox trotted at the beginning of the match. Was that on purpose?

Well Mac's power comes quite a lot from the Smash attacks with their super armor and whatnot. The Down Smash is more for attempted ledge guarding, which I luckily got off on Pyrrhon like you saw and predicted rolls.

Also that little trotting thing I did was kinda sorta purposeful. I usually bull-rush people if they don't make a move. If they try to rush at me, I'll slow down like I did to try a read with dodging or blocking.

If you have a Wii U Godot, I'd like a match or two because I've heard you are pretty good. I am WhiteWisper.

Yeah, Luigi's got a lot of early combos. Most of them are reliant on catching opponents' DI though; being a step ahead of your opponent is key.

Against Luigi your spacing has to be immaculate, and you also have to never shield fireballs. Either just straight up eat them or dodge them because the shieldstun makes you combo food.

His downsides post-patch are the same as Yoshi's really; a need to make a hard commitment to close out a stock at a reasonable percentage, and being edgeguarded somewhat more easily than the others.

EDIT: Practice with Jiggles. Anyone else play the puff here?

Too tru Pyrrhon.

Also. This fucking Ike here. I don't think I have ever seen so much combined spam in a For Glory match. But I still barely kicked his ass in the end.

What exactly was the Ike spamming?

I don't get the stigma around roll spamming in this game when it's still a pretty good option even after the nerfs, the Ike played the MU really well the first stock with not letting you get stage controll but he did roll into you too much which is fairly unsafe against Mac with his godly down smash, ultimately I don't think he was a Ike player

Roll spamming isn't that good at all, really...it's an easily picked up on and punishable tactic, and doing it can establish a bad habit. In offline competitive you will get crushed for doing it. Best to keep rolls to a minimum and incorporate spotdodges as well if you aim to be evasive.

personally I prefer rolling then spot dodging, usually after the dodge you're put in an uncomfortable position but a correct roll can bring you out of that danger, and especially with characters with long rolls like sheik, it's a pretty common tactic when playing them

Rolls are laggier than spotdodges however, so a mix of the three (spotdodges, rolls and shield) are needed to be optimal. Especially against characters with strong roll punishes such as Rosalina, Captain Falcon, Link, etc.

also Sheik's roll is actually pretty bad. ZSS's roll is really strong in contrast, not only because of the distance but because she's got lots of options out of it to avoid punishment in more situations than other characters. That argument could also be made for Palutena.

So I saw Abbey's Jiggle puff. I use to main jigglypuff until I found Luigi, Kirby and Ganon. I've come back to Jigglypuff recently and love playing her. It's so fun to either A) Get a hard ass read and land a rest or B ) Hit all of the b-airs.

So Hungrybox is in a jungle. And he has to fight a bear. So the question is... Who's B-air would win?

Interesting video to spice up the thread a bit.

Agree or disagree?

For me i agree most or screw that fully agree.

I would personally like to see him get an entirely new moveset, though at this point I think it's a bit too late for that. People are used to Ganondorf playing the way he does now, and if they suddenly changed him so drastically, it would cause an uproar from the Ganon mains who spent so long mastering the character the way he is now. I think the best way to go about it would be in the same way they've been changing Falco: slowly but surely. Granted, Falco's still pretty clonelike, but if they were to use the same method to a greater extent, I think that'd be the best way to go about it. Basically, change him slowly enough that by the time it's done, people don't realize they're playing a completely new character because they've had so much time to adapt.

...But I don't expect him to change much at all, really.

The vast majority of Ganondorf mains would appreciate a new moveset regardless of how long they've played him. I am among those who would love an overhaul.

Here's some potential inspiration.

This so much. Seeing around comments, a hell of lot ganondorf mains want a new moveset.

Also seeing that trailer, it was pretty damn cool.

Project m is really something.
