Shing
Tfw one of your main is a fastfaller. Anyway it is hard to hit with it so well fine enough.
Dark Desire
that's actually a pretty huge find, i've seen nairo do something similar with d-smash > nair > d-smash combos but if he can apply this to his play, he'd probably have a slight advantage over his character MUs with zero

And he will try it on for glory for fun lol. All info from his twitter.

Godot
It still does some cool things, offensively. My personal favorite is using it to separate Rosalina from Luma or Olimar from his Pikmin. It is a tech that used to be used on Ice Climbers and still works pretty well. Even though my main go-to character is Little Mac, I would probably main Fox and Yoshi if I had more time with the game. And before any of you guys offer to practice, I don't see online matches as anything more than casual. The the frames that are delayed or skipped are annoying to play under and cause the player to develop some bad habits that I do not wish to have. I have been boycotting online/for glory play for that reason.
mde2001
Okay. So I'm getting this game for Christmas (on Wii U). I've never played a smash game before and have very little idea of how to. So I was wondering is there a tutorial of how to play it in game? If not how would you recommend I learn how to play it? I don't mind whether that advice is just play it once you get it or whether you have some suggestions of videos or reading to watch or read. Overall, I'd appreciate any advice on just about anything to do with learning. Thanks in advance
Shadow Tack
overall if you want to learn basic controls just watch the opening movie, i'm pretty sure that explains everything you need to know, otherwise play w/ people here or watch youtube after learning them. Shanco
Smash Bros is one of those easy to play, hard to master games. The gameplay was initially based off the Kirby series but it's kinda branched out on its own now. And yeah, there's a How to Play movie that covers the basics. Characters to consider picking up first because they're easy to learn: Mario Yoshi Kirby Link Falco (needs to be unlocked) Lucina (needs to be unlocked, but is probably the easiest character in the game to pick up)
Maelstrom
Tip #1: do not underestimate the neutral combo. aka, the one where you keep tapping the basic attack button. They actually do a fair amount of damage and are the fastest attacks in the game. It's too easy to interrupt someone attempting a smash attack with a simple neutral combo or even a tilt attack. Godot
Neutral combo and Neutral Air or Nair can break you free from being combo'd in certain situations. I also personally think Pikachu is a great beginner character.
Guzam
>Talking about great beginner characters. >No Weegee. What a time to be alive :') I still think Mario is one of the best starting characters for obvious reasons.
Another Felix
Pikachu is not a good beginner character. All the quick attack crap. Best beginners are Mario, Captain Falcon, and Pit/Dark Pit.
Godot
Luigi, Doc, and Wario are more technical higher skill variants of Mario. Luigi is difficult for beginners to grasp since he has these weird "no friction" physics. He isn't "hard" to learn, but he isn't "my first main" material. When I first played the game I mained Pikachu and Subbed Yoshi. I then changed my main to Fox and sub to Link later. The rest is history. Another Felix
I've mained R.O.B. since the Brawl days, and only started liking Fox in this game. Knew I would also sub Morton and Miis when I first saw them.
Godot
I was talking about when I first played Smash. Aka back in the 64 days.
Shing
Also for beginners. Try ness too. He's pretty easy for beginners. Bread and butter combos(down throw to fair to fair).
Shadow Tack
don't use ness if you like being alive as a beginner, i didn't know PK thunder 2 existed until smash
Omega_Ra1der
I saw somewhere Pit was a good starting character but I dislike him due his tilts lag a lot. Other than that, good choice.
Shing
So it's december, and the direct will be in this month. If i remember correctly, it was said it's the last direct in smash 4 in wii u and 3ds as i know. So i guess the smash ballot will be in the direct. How do you guys think about the december direct in smash?
