Darvan Korematsu
Corrin's counter is ridiculously powerful. It would be OP if the window wasn't so small and the decent ending lag wasn't there, but of course it can be played around, it can't stop it from being scary. I Up-Smashed with Little Mac into one on FG and it KILLED me at roughly 18% --> taking me to ~55%. This was the first time I played against a decent Corrin and needless to say I was steamed from an early death. Tbh they should probably decrease the kill range on it because it's still absolute balls nonetheless.
Dark Desire
although i doubt we'll release another patch for the game, i wouldn't want to see anything changed about corrin, he still feels mid tiery to me
Shanco
With rage that counter can kill any character in the game off a smash attack at 0. At high levels of play it has the potential completely invalidate slower characters such as Bowser and Ike (from a competitive standpoint) as some Corrin players will be able to Counter a potential kill move on reaction and boom, they're dead. This move could very well be nerfed in a future balance patch.
Omega_Ra1der
They say bayo is op when Corrin is the near top tier due to his powerful spacing tools and how easy to win neutral with him. And that counter invalids the whole heavies outside from captain. He/she is the new pre-patch luigi with a better approach and decent combo game. (Spacing too). Bayo's frame data sucks, and she have trouble killing outside witch time. While Bayo is very powerful on her own but anyone can see corrin is the superior if used right. And oh, did I mention that corrin can efficiently shut down the mario bros if he wins neutral. Mario can bear it bit better unlike his brother who is just useless on shield, even if he powershield. And I am not sure about Cloud or ZSS on corrin but from my ideas, cloud can go even.

Maelstrom
You know that corrin in the video is a scub. You fought my corrin. Oh wait. That IS my corrin. In a bad match. My timing was off for everything in that one. And one of the few where you actually beat me that night. C'mon man. My Cloud is an even better match up against Falcon. But hey, I challenge you to a rematch. As a non-ZSS or sheik player, I still say Bayo is bs. I still have found ways to fight her, but you mess up and she really screws you over. Idk why but I almost never remember to use Corrin's counter. I literally forget. But then, that makes is a true clincher when I finally remember so I can get a kill. They're usually above 100, 120% by then.

She also has a better zoning projectile that you can cancel, not to mention bayo's better combo game and having 0 to death combos on almost all the cast .__.I've been playing a ton of both of them, mostly corrin but I seem to have the most trouble matchup wise against characters with longer range (marth, cloud, Ike)
Maelstrom
It hasn't been mentioned in here yet but there's more to corrin's neutral b than at first glance. Both the projectile and the claw snap can be charged individually. If you hold down b the whole time, the projectile powers up and the claw charges up. But you can tap b to quick fire the projectile, then quickly hit and hold the special button. It will charge the claw for an attack that tends to get characters that approach by jumping over the projectile and get in your face because they expect a quick snap to leave you defenseless. By the same token, you can do a quick snap after a full projectile charge if you let go soon enough after firing and hopefully being better able to follow up a stun. On a different note, mewtwo feels so good to play as now. It makes me happy. The matchup I have the most trouble with as corrin is robin so far. Guzam
Things I liked in patch 1.1.4: ZSS got her OP kill move ever so slightly nerfed so that's cool I guess FE characters yay (Roy B]) None of my mains got nerfed Kirby now weighs more than Rosalina Bayonetta and Corrin are really fun to play with I don't have to worry about my replays anymore Things I didn't like in patch 1.1.4: Jigglypuff, Zelda, Palutena and Samus didn't get buffs This is literally the last patch so no more "balancing" rip If you haven't heard the game isn't going to receive patches anymore and Sakurai is going on a well-deserved vacation. Still working with Bayo and Corrin and will try to main bayo, but Corrin just doesn't suit my play style :[

Godot
Making Bae a secondary. Also, I am pretty sure Mael just struggles against my Robin, not Robin in general. How does Corrin fare against Zoners in general? (Remembers the Megaman match i had last night.). I fucking hate having to play like that. ><
Maelstrom
Same. I really want to make Corrin a secondary, I'm struggling to understand how he/she works. Keep em pressured and moving. Get them in the air so you simply hit them from below with aerials. Get them to approach by jumping over projectiles and right into the claw half of that move (which does much more damage). Punish moves that used to be safe because they created just enough distance by using the wonderfully ranged side smash. If they run away while you're pressuring, get used to the range of your side special and go for the tipper for more power and launch. It's a great edge guarding tool too, where you jump off and do it or jump off, turn around before unleashing it. Try to predict when they'll roll in your direction and charge up your side smash, the buzzsaw blade will catch them and your smash will release and give 'em something to remember. Use side B to stick the ground and then use the following vaulting attack as a surprise, quick ranged attack with a bit of super armor. Remember you can do that to go the opposite way of the way you were facing when you stabbed the ground. I don't remember to use counter all that often, but it makes it less predictable when I do pull it out. Corrin isn't combo-reliant like most other characters. It requires more the spacing and timing that would normally be required for ganon or Lucina/Marth.

For example I have found the Mewtwo matchup to be laughable. He can also two-shot Luma somewhat easily. However I have found Cloud to be very problematic; Dark Pit has also caused me a ton of trouble because Corrin doesn't exactly have a dream horizontal recovery. Corrin is also a subpar edgeguarder so there is the potential to get bippity bopped by characters who normally have the issue of a poor negative, such as Ness, Roy and the Mario Bros, all of whom can easily combo him. Edit: Robin definitely wins vs Corrin

Godot
Thing about Corrin/Kamui is that he is a "first" for the series. There are several types of characters; rushdown, heavyweights, keep away, ect. Smash has never had a "weapon based Zoner" before. Other character examples are Dalsim from Street Fighter, Ivy from Soul Calibur, or Axel Low in Guilty Gear. Corrin IMO is an odd choice for this role. Especially since the most popular choices for this role were Bandana Dee from Kirby, Simon Belmont from Castlevania, and Waluigi. I would have liked to see Ephirim from Sacred Stones. The closest smash has ever had was Marth and Shulk. The thing about Corrin vs Zoners is that his play style along with Dsim, Axl, and Ivy is to keep people at a fixed distance. And most keep away or campy characters like keeping their distance. So it doesn't work out for the previously mentioned 4. The game can still be played, but it will be long and painful... Just like that Corrin/Megaman game I mentioned. **cringes** that shit lasted like 20 minutes.

Them lemons ruin everything... with the kind of projectiles and distance megaman can attack and zone with, it's a really annoying fight. But EVERY fight AS megaman is like that in my experience. But yeah, Corrin likes his/her prey cornered at the edge of the stage at just the right distance for premium damage, non-sweet spot spearing will get the job done too. I've learned this over the past few days in matches against my friends. I won every game playing as Corrin by patiently zoning and reading my opponents (This also caused my friends to get annoyed and make reckless decisions, which definitely helped). Maelstrom
Even the lvl 9 cpu's fall for the quick shot claw charge trick pretty often. Do a quick shot but charge up the claw, they roll though the shot at you and right into the waiting charged claw, which does 20%.
