Heading off to another local this weekend. I'll be entering Melee singles/doubles and Wii U singles/doubles. It'll be interesting to see how things go with Bayonetta and Corrin available now. I haven't actually updated my Wii U with them yet, so I'm planning for the worst. :c

Semi-unrelated, this is a clip of what I consider my highlight on stream from my last tournament. It's Project M, so not technically Wii U/3DS, but it was a fairly nice combo. 0-80 Falco combo for anyone interested in watching. He missed a tech in the middle that helped extend things a little longer. Sorry for low-quality too; I had to capture it from my computer's screen with Hypercam, and it caused a pretty big drop in quality. Still easy enough to tell what's happening though.

I ended up getting 5th in PM, so it was a pretty good finish overall.

Without adjusting other characters, giving Falco autocancel lasers would be a bit strong... It works in Melee because other characters have the speed and tools to keep up, but no so much if they did it in Sm4sh. Those videos are pretty cool though. I didn't even know there were people who could mod this game yet.

He would be more like brawl where he was high tier. Also we can adjust the other characters like marth lol.

And i think it may work in sm4sh because brawl isn't so different as sm4sh.

Also i'm surprised too with modding. Hope they can do wii u soon.

  • 2 weeks later...

did my promos on anthers and got silver 3, i ended up playing horrendous on some of the matches, even lost a rosa vs ness (i dont actively practice rosa but i've watched enough dubuz to get the idea)

luckily my WIP bayo had pulled out a couple of good wins, still trying to figure out how to correctly kill off the top at mid/high percents, i've noticed if you jump and up b into them too close, you won't connect the second up b or even side b

A trick I learned on bayo is that if you witch time someone near the top you can carry them a little closer to the edge of the top with up-airs and finish off with an up-b, because it's a multi-hit move it'll have the same properties as ZSS's boost kick and kill immediately if they're out of the screen if you have like 120%+ rage

killed someone on FD with it at 40% when I had 150% on me

I'm thinking I'm going to try playing around with Ryu and Yoshi as potential mains. I've currently been using Jiggs and Metaknight, but outside of a select few matchups, Jigglypuff has a really hard time approaching. Metaknight's been working okay, but he still doesn't really feel like a "main" to me. So far I haven't had a character that's really clicked with me, but both Yoshi and Ryu have been fun so far.

I play both and they are fun. They are both... Different from the rest of the cast. Yoshi is hard to play online, but he is very fun twitch based, reactionary character. He has a lot of interesting tricks up his nonexistent sleeves. Ryu is awk, because he has a lot of SF4 and third strike tech that just randomly in his moveset. The SF tech is also hard to adapt to in a smash setting. I am not just talking about his "command based moves" but FADC, special canceling, Empty Cancels, ect. His Nair is also incredibly interesting. I also hear a lot of people say that if you are playing Ryu. Set your c-stick to attack. It makes doing weak attack combo strings easier to do.

Edit: another handy to know thing is that Yoshi's Forward smash causes his Hitbox to change size. You can use it to punish people in interesting ways. It is also stupid hard to play the two in FG since Yoshi relies on reactionary/twitch tech and Ryu is quite input heavy.
