Eigengrau
Hey guys I am confused whether to go for a bulky attacker spiritomb or bulky special attacker spiritomb. Which one works better? any thoughts?
Celeby
It depend if you want a Pursuit Trapper Spiritomb or Calm Minder restalker. I prefer the Pursuit Trapper so Pursuit, Sucker Punch, Will-O-Wisp and Foul Play or Shadow Sneak. EVs Max HP and Atk obv
Eigengrau
@Celeby I feel the pursuit trapper can handle things independently but the special attacker with calm mind can be one nasty mon to get rid off if it has help from a team mate
HUEnd
Also, another option (that is out of the regular meta) would be a TR All-Out special/mixed attacker (Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball/Hidden Power Fighting/Utility move you would like, such as Will-o-Wisp, Sucker Punch, Shadow Sneak, Foul Play, etc)
seki108
In in-game Reborn, I used a mixed set of Calm Mind, Dark Pulse, Sucker Punch, and Foul Play with more defense investment. It worked when it needed to, though keep it away from Faries at all costs.
Ghost141
For reborn adventure I used it adamant, with suckerpunch will-o-wisp shadowsneak rock tomb. If u wanna use in a competitive team, adamant suckerpunch will-o-wisp pursuit foul play
Q-Jei
I personally use a modest Spiritomb in my current run. To get through Reborn without too many troubles, I would recommend to get Pressure. My moveset is the following: Dark Pulse -> Best Dark Special move of the game in my opinion. Shock Wave -> Another Special move which harmonize a lot with most of the field effects (To be honest, I'm still waiting for Shadow Ball to be available.) Double Team -> Extremely useful in single battles, it will force your foe to overuse his abilities. This technique is even more interesting in the later part of the game because you'll encounter a lot of Pokemon favoring moves with low PP. Nasty Plot -> To optimize Special Attack, of course. Considering the present moveset, it would be clever to trigger a growth of evasion, then using Nasty Plot to inflict as much damage as possible. This strategy is your best friend in long battles.
