CodeCass
So I've hit a small wall again! Could really use some help. Cain is blocking my path to the Bysbysion Wasteland and I can't seem to take him down. I checked the walkthrough but didn't really see any kind of strategy for him. The current team is: Chesnaught: Level 43 (Bulletproof) - Seed Bomb - Spikey Shield - Bite - Rock Smash Granbull: Level 39 (Intimidate) - Bite - Headbutt - Rock Smash - Heal Bell Magneton: Level 44 (Analytic) - Discharge - Flash Cannon - Screech - Mirror Shot Gothorita: Level 39 (Competitive) - Psychic - Feint Attack - Charge Beam - Future Sight Growlithe: Level 40 (Justified) - Flamethrower - Close Combat - Crunch - Take Down Seismatoad: Level 36 (Poison Touch) - Muddy Water - Uproar - Mud Shot - Aqua Ring Some notable PC pokemon are: Vibrava Starmie Unfezant (M) Persian Zebstrika Darmanitan Nidoqueen Toxicroak Carvanha. Thanks for any and all help folks!
Elvenlore
For a while there I thought you just had a level four Chesnaught Would suggest you grind your Pokemon up to even levels so you're not tackling him at a slant. You have an eight level difference between your highest and lowest team member. Those levels can be the difference between one of you taking a hit or going down. Ghost141
I think u just need to grind seismatoad to level 42/3 (in the hall there r trainers u can fight how many times u want). Maybe train Vibrava too. His team has 3 pokemons weak to ground so with seismatoad and vibrava should get easier. Magnezone alone should be enought to defeat Primarina, whole for Meowstick try use Growlite + grandbull. (I suggest u to find fire stone asap, maybe if u have still a rock where use the mining kit, softreset untill u can find one)

I hit buttons too quickly and posted before I really even began to write! Thanks! I'll do that for sure. I really need to get Gothorita and Growlithe evolved for sure. Now I've just got to figure out where to grind! I should have used my time with Victoria double-battling with me in the volcano more wisely. And of course the trainers in the Grand Hall are too strong now. So I'm on a grinding-spot hunt!

Just waiting for Growlithe to get to 45! Also really need to level my Granbull enough to get Play Rough!

Any time you get a partner combatant, use them to grind with. You can grind by switch-training in the Grand Hall, then drop your levels with common candy so you don't have the higher ones going over the badge cap. You earn money that way, if I recall correctly which I often don't and you can use the money to buy healing items to support you against Cain. Alternatively, go back to the volcano and hunt for rock and fighting types. When I was training my Growlithe (now Arcanine) in Pyrous Mountain I went for the Rock Smash Magcargo, switch-trained until I knew she could take them on her own, then just let her have at them. Stick to Rock Smash Magcargo though. If you run into Arena Trap Diglett/Dugtrio with Growlithe out front you'll just get knocked out every five seconds. The Sawk/Throh there should be good for your Gothorita, too. You could also take her down to the Corsola at the shore to make use of Charge Beam if they're still there. Also check to see if you missed any trainers. Edited May 30, 2018 by Elvenlore spelling correction

No problem. As an afterthought, just be wary that Corsola have Recover and the Sawk/Throh may have Sturdy and dark type moves, so they may not be easy pickings for a quick Psychic. Be sure to save every now and again too. You can grind Seismitoad on the fire, rock, and ground types there also. Do you have any stronger moves for Chesnaught? There are move tutors and a move relearner in Reborn. The move relearner you need to find a house key for (she's up in Onyx Ward, left from the Casino) and she'll teach your Pokemon old moves in exchange for a heart scale. She's standing outside her (big) house with the sign on the right of it. If you can unlock her at the stage you're at (I can't remember if you can) you could get some good moves for Chesnaught. dubble
There are a couple of move tutors, don't bother with it though as they all teach garbage before the city restauration (then you get some nice moves like Hyper Voice for Sylveon/Gardevoir). If you can get a strong psychic type you basically oneshot everything but his dark type with psychic. Espeon by wonder trade for example. Alternatively, Gothitelle (just 3 more levels) with an X-Speed should do the trick too, even if it's a rather poor poke. You should also really get a Fire Stone for Growlithe. Other than that I refuse to run anything below 80 base speed with a speed nature, but that might just be me. You also have a Starmie, which would be about the best pokemon you currently have. I'll keep that in mind. I actually have a couple Fire Stones at this point. I'm just waiting for her to hit 45 for Flare Blitz before evolving! I never could find that lady's key! I never knew what her deal was. I'll see if I can get it soon.
LemonJones
Get some levels, it's more than enough to beat him. Perhaps you'd like my way of leveling - gain 2 levels on each of your pokemon and keep that in the cycle as much as you can. Getting gaps is a bad idea since you cannot ridiculously outlevel in this game with the cap in it. Not to mention you can run into a wall if you reach a tough double battle or a tough type counter to your team.

I won't spoil it in case you want to solve it on your own, but there are Youtube videos in case you get stuck. Good luck!
