Hey! I'm Silver D:<

And don't worry, I was just derping around in custom games. I thought, "Lots of CC for ganks. He might clear okay with his passive, but probably not. His mobility is low, but mobo boots can take care of that... This is not going to go well but #YOLO" But his cooldowns are just so friggin low, you never get to proc his passive so he literally takes ten minutes to clear the jungle once. His ganks aren't very good either, because he's super easy to run away from (his stupid E throws them away from you >_>) But hey, the mobo boots helped with his lack of mobility. Oh, and did I mention he has absolutely no sustain? Pre-Machete, you have to back every two camps

TL;DR I was bored and thought it'd be fun to try (which it was, purely because it was so bad)

Silver might as well be bronze. (I'm silver so I know it well)

That feel when tilting so hard I can barely play my favorite champs at a decent level right now.

Yep, I played too much 3v3.

This happens to me way too often. Someone yells at me for losing lane and I can't even Maokai anymore

Yeah all those shyvanas in the smite/teleport meta pisses me off too. :^(

On the one hand, SHYVANA META <3

On the other Smite/TP meta >:c I like Smite TP as an occasional surprise, but as a top/JG main (I prefer top, but play JG more owo) it's kinda messing up my roles ono Also it doesn't work nearly as well in yoloQ as it does on the pro scene (where it barely works...)

im not saying vel jg is good but just a few things

how are his cd's being low a bad thing for clearing the jg? thats a great thing.

you can proc his passive. easily. aa to refresh the passive timer.

E them into your ally or away from tower.

Sustain, you just gotta try to kite.

still not very good.

It is very possible to jungle with Vel'Koz, I actually did a game (and didn't do too badly despite losing). Just gotta make sure that you start frog > blue buff > wolves > b for a Ranger's Trailblazer, and (at least a little bit) leash the monsters as best you can without them hard-resetting.

Hard resetting is where they just run back and heal up completely, ignoring all your damage; this happens on the 10th time they try to back after being too far away from their camp; before then any damage will turn them back and have them come after you. Thus leashing the jungle is an art and definitely takes practice, but ranged junglers can do this to prevent a lot of damage in the jungle when they do it right.

This video by Kikis, jungler for the Unicorns of Love, has a pretty solid demonstration of leashing the jungle and although it's Twisted Fate being used in the video, it's possible to carry some of these kiting mechanics over to Vel'Koz.

Almost, Ryan. Almost.

This was changed to 5 times before they hard reset. This is what completely fucked over some junglers like Twisted Fate, and while still able to be used, is a lot more difficult.

Yeah, in an interview with Kikis after EU Finals, they discussed how he was the driving force for this change.
