Shanco
Your friendly neighborhood Shanco is back for the first RMT in ages, and he's been longing to do one. We call it "Multiculture", after the wide array of functions and strengths each Pokemon brings to the table. Why don't we give it a look: M u l t i c u l t u r e Did I look like I was kidding about the multicultural part? Aw hell no! But without further ado, let's get to the team. @ Light Clay Trait: Heatproof EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 100 Def / 152 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Reflect - Light Screen - Gyro Ball - Stealth Rock The Zonger acts as my hazard setter. Bring things in and erase their sashes and Sturdy. It also provides dual screen support, allowing another Pokemon to set up. Gyro Ball lets it come in on Weavile and destroy it. Heatproof allows it to serve its purpose in the line of Fire (yeah, I just went there!), while most poor souls are thinking it is levitating. @ Damp Rock Trait: Unaware EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Recover - Toxic - Rain Dance Somewhere between a supporter and staller, Quagsire has proven to be a very reliable team component. Only two usable Pokemon in BL are immune to both Toxic and Earthquake, and both of them are killed by other members of my team. Rain Dance can jack up my team and make it really dangerous, like Toxicroak further restoring health and Meloetta's devastating Thunders gaining accuracy. Recover is an obvious choice for its intended use. Sometimes, I may lead with Quagsire to give Bronzong an extra edge when setting up rocks and dual screens. Whether I do or not ultimately depends on my mood, I guess. @ Expert Belt Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 52 Atk / 252 SAtk / 200 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Relic Song - Close Combat - Thunder - Hidden Power [ice] People who have gone up against Meloetta do not like doing so. The reason why is because you have no idea at all of what it will do. I could masquerade Meloetta as a special tank before using Relic Song and all of a sudden Weavile and Blissey are sitting ducks; change it back again. Thunder's paralysis chance combined with its damage means it deserves a spot on the set, regardless of the presence of rain. Hidden Power [ice] hits Gligar very hard if it thinks it could simply switch in on it. @ Choice Scarf Trait: Illusion EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Dark Pulse - Flamethrower - Focus Blast - Extrasensory Meant to hide behind the guise of a Toxicroak, Zoroark works its deviosity as an effective revenge killer, in addition to something that can spring a surprise kill on our dearest friend, Forretress. The beauty of this is that most people don't really catch the reason behind the extra health drop from Stealth Rock, so they go about their business. Then, the trap is sprung. Dark Pulse smashes Psychics like Victini. Flamethrower decimates Forretress and other common Ice-types and Steels like Magnezone and Cobalion. Focus Blast does damage to a wide variety of targets, including Empoleon and Kyurem. Extrasensory gives Fighting-types who don't wanna leave some extra encouragement. @ Flame Orb Trait: Magic Guard EVs: 252 HP / 16 SAtk / 240 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Cosmic Power - Stored Power - Psycho Shift - Roost I make people hate Sigilyph. No, seriously, I do. The technique is to find the perfect switch-in and stuff Sigilyph in front of it, with Flame Orb activating without wasting an extra turn. Then, up go Sigilyph's defenses. Roost provides the occasional recovery (it doesn't take hazard damage, which is beautiful). When Cosmic Power has hit +5 or so, it's time to destroy. Anything that doesn't resist it is eliminated immediately. Psycho Shift can also initiate combat with another Pokemon, nullifying Sturdy and Focus Sash so Stored Power can sweep them out. NOTE: I have considered a few times over to change Cosmic Power to Calm Mind. Why? Because its power is frightening. God forbid it gets to +6, but if it does, it can OHKO Blissey, effortlessly 2HKO Max Special Defense Jirachi, among slaughtering many other things. The trade off is that physical defense is lacking, but Psycho Shift can make up for that if timed properly. Also, Psycho Shift can also do favors and snap sashes and Sturdy so Stored Power can clear them in one blow.@ Black Sludge Trait: Dry Skin EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Drain Punch - Sucker Punch - Bulk Up - Bullet Punch / Ice Punch Bulky sweepers are rarely seen in OU, but they're plentiful in BL! Toxicroak is one such example. Bulk Up improves its physical prowess, namely its attacking power, and its ability to take an Earthquake or two and punch back. Drain Punch further improves its versatility and survivability, making it very annoying to fight. Sucker Punch catches Ghosts and Psychics who want to ruin Toxicroak. Bullet Punch is for overall variety, while Ice Punch sees fliers and Dragons die.Go ahead, steal the team, see if I care! Bronzong @ Light Clay Trait: Heatproof EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 100 Def / 152 SDef Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Reflect - Light Screen - Gyro Ball - Stealth Rock Quagsire (F) @ Damp Rock Trait: Unaware EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Recover - Toxic - Rain Dance Meloetta @ Life Orb Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 52 Atk / 252 SAtk / 200 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Relic Song - Close Combat - Thunder - Hidden Power [ice] Zoroark (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Illusion EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Dark Pulse - Extrasensory - Focus Blast - Flamethrower Sigilyph (M) @ Flame Orb Trait: Magic Guard EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Cosmic Power - Stored Power - Psycho Shift - Roost Toxicroak (M) @ Black Sludge Trait: Dry Skin EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Drain Punch - Sucker Punch - Bulk Up - Bullet Punch Of course, the raves and rants are what make this kind of thing happen, so let's hear what you have to say about my latest concoction!
