Fallon was staring off into the woods when Johanna gave the command to move out. He felt like he had been here before on his travels, but it was too dark to tell for sure. Deciding it probably wasn't important, he started to make his move when he felt a small hand grip his robes. "Evil? Hmm. I suppose so. They certainly made it sound like that during the briefing. They're some kind of escapees from the old war." he responded as he returned his attention to the trees. "Either way, no one here will get mad at you for doing your job. If it ends up being some big misunderstanding, the blame will be on the higher ups. Not us." Or at least he hoped that would be the case. He knew full well it didn't always work out that way.

And Ceridwen stabbed at the mage — a real stab, since she had in fact fought for real before, if only bandits.

It was something of a distracted attempt, though. She couldn’t help it! The trees were very pretty.

And then, like, there is a big man with an axe that executes them." As she rambles, Naomi raises her hand and the light flows out of it and over the knight. Slowly it builds into the shape of a huge axe, made of light. "I'm not that big but I think the axe is good enough. Bye bye!" And then with a motion of her arm, the axe slams down on the knight ignoring their armor and bringing them down instantly. Naomi clutches her burned hand, but smiles and sighs in relief. "I needed that."

As the scout rushes off again, this time to the south past the village, Kiba exhales heavily through his nose. "Forgive me, Maria, Klaus. I hope you never have to know me for this act."

Further west, having received the order to move out from the deployed scout, a unit of armored knights appears and begins to march north down the pathway towards the village under the cover of night.

 

Spotting the approaching line of lumbering shadows, the boy at the head of the assortment of villagers defending their home tightens his grip about his sword. "Hey! Hey, out there at the tree-line-- I see movement! I see movement in the trees!" he shouts, waving an arm in gesture before hastily drawing his own blade. Hah, if those tin-can fools were stupid enough to try and attack the men of the Warriors Village, they'd be sorely reminded real soon of why that was a bad idea.

 

"Let's get 'em, Flynn!" a younger voice chirps out from behind him. His grip on his sword is a little less practiced and confident than the other's, but he makes do, and makes up for it with quite a bit of exuberance to conceal the underlying current of nervousness. "We'll show 'em what we're made of!"

 

MAJOR VICTORY (OPTIONAL) : At least half the villagers remain standing.
