One javelin hit her, mostly bouncing off of her armor but rattling her enough to hurt -- not enough to normally matter too much, but with her current shaky physical condition it did hurt. Still, her own javelin had done better, and since she was sure that she could take a few more hits like that, she was prepared to do so. Hardening her face into a tight-lipped line, Ceridwen grabbed another javelin from the side of the dragon beside her, strode forth with a jangle, and then sent it flying at the javelin-wielding Calissian as hard as she could, that tight-lipped line opening into a shout.

"Hyah!"

Argos kept moving forward but he couldn't help but notice that Dulcibella was quite injured wither her encounter with the myrmidon. With no hesitation he tossed the last remnants of his vulnerary to her.  "Think fast!"

Sounding like she would be going into her usually torment that she put Rhian under in a battle before stopping and addressing someone? else.

"What do you mean..really....but...fine." she seemed to have lost an argument from the look on her face as she put her knife away and pulled out the tome she was now carrying. "It says its better if I used it right now. Something something such weak power can't overcome its darkness or something along that line." she said to Rhian puffing her cheek a bit.

"Alright who's next?" Naomi says as she steps out into the courtyard switching tomes in her hands. And then her eyes see her. They gleam, at the unusual sight, the first time Naomi had ever seen it. A pair of wolf ears, sitting on a human. "Fallon! Fallon! She's got like... Cute ears! Like a cute dog! She's not a human, she's a dog person Fallon!" Naomi beamed, running in the direction of Hati, walking as if she was no longer in a battlefield. 

 

 

Move to AA17, equip Lightning

"Runes damn it, Naomi, you can't just run forward like that!" It's almost as if the light mage were searching for more reasons to make Rhian dislike her. She was childish, and now she was going to bolt ahead and get herself killed because of it. "Come on, move up or she's going to get ripped apart!"

"Okay, you can go to her. I'm going to see what's behind mysterious door number one." Kris said as she went to in the completely different direction of the other two girls and begun to pick the lock on the door nearby.

 

Kris moves to AE11 and opens the door.

The lock clicks open easily to Kris' experienced hand, and the door swings open to reveal a storage room. Boxes and crates are stacked up against the bare walls, wooden and iron shelves housing various knickknacks: clothing, utensils, household items. It looks somewhat dusty, like things in here aren't moved around very often. Near the center of the room, as Kris looks around, she'd find three treasure chests scattered about, locked to seal their contents.

"Don't get in my way! I don't want to fight you." Naomi shoots a purposefully weak warning shot, as the archer attacks her. Using the cover from her own attack, she moves behind the archer with swiftness she didn't even know she had. As she gets closer to the wolf girl, she puts her tome away and approaches with her hands in the air, and the most innocent and excited smile. "Hi! I I'm Naomi! I uuuh..." She rubbed the back of her head and looked down a bit. "I made my way here in such a rush and now I don't even know what to say... Sorry!" Naomi giggled, wrapping her hands behind her back and leaning forward a bit. "Are uhm... Your ears real? They are right? You're like... Half dog! A half dog person right? They are so cute I love them!"

 

Move to AC19 and talk to the wolf!

"Naomi, she's going to cook you in your damned skin! This isn't the time to compliment her on her fucking animal ears!" She was going to get herself killed, diving into the enemy formation like that, and there wasn't much Rhian could do at this point other than hope to take down the others before they had a chance to finish the mage.

 

Z17 and shoot the Myrmidon, AFTER Naomi finishes her conversation (unless said conversation would logically stop it)

A triumphant smirk on her face from watching one of the invaders go down, Hati blinks when she hears rapid footsteps behind her. Anticipating a surprise attack, she turns around, pages of her tome already open and a hand poised above them, electricity crackling between her fingers, ready to strike—

 

And the girl doesn't look like she's ready to fight her at all. In fact, she starts blabbering... about her ears? Said ears flatten down against her skull in annoyance and confusion, and she growls. Half dog?

 

"Don't fucking insult me, hu—"

 

Suddenly, she pauses, then sniffs the air. Narrowing her eyes at Naomi, she sniffs again, then the bewilderment grows. "... Hah. You're kidding." The look of fury turns to one of smug derision and amusement. "Well, don't I feel sorry for you. What the hell is someone like you doing here?"

[Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~]

Naomi tilted her head in confusion, but kept her smile. "Hmm... Well short-ish story I ended up being part of the Allied Guard, and they sent me here to retake the castle or something. So, basically the same as you right? Except you're here to like, defend it." Naomi glanced down, noticing her tome. "Oh we're both mages as well! That's so cool! Well, no amount of payment or shouting or anything will make me hurt you now. So don't worry about me! Are your friends also dog people? I won't hurt them either anymore. Or I promise I won't kill them. But it might be easier if all of you drop your weapons, after all you don't have a reason to fight human battles. If you're un-armed my humans won't harm you, we'll just stride through and take the castle."

'My humans'?

 

"Someone like you is leading this band of mice? I find that hard to believe."

 

The girl doesn't make a whole lot of sense with her blabbering, and Hati can't say she sees any sense in her decision not to kill any of them just because they're laguz. Does loyalty to some polluted bloodline trump duty to everything else? If they start killing the rest of this 'Allied Guard' for being invaders, is she still going to refuse to kill them in return? The thought is amusing, and it's almost tempting to test out.

 

But something she says stands out. Laguz, no reason to fight human battles, huh?

 

"If it were that easy." She scoffs, then raises an eyebrow. "Listen, I'll tell you something because I pity you, half-whelp. I don't know if you're familiar, but the lord of this castle is a stinking half-wit with a personality to match. I'd rather eat him alive slowly than take up arms for him one more day, but as it is, my paws are tied. You guys are here to take him out? I'd be happy to see that asshole bite the dust. But here's the thing. If you don't end up being strong enough to pull it off, my guys here and I'll all suffer for failing to stop you. So I'll think about it, on two conditions. Want to hear them?"

 

Static pops and cracks from the opened pages of her tome to her hand in unspoken indication of what'll come to pass if Naomi isn't.
