Pokemon Reborn: Ask Your Questions: Quests, Pokemon/Item Locations, and Other Information

The Fush

Question

Since there seems to be an array of topics on individual questions everywhere, I've created some general topics to ask them in, just for neatness.

In this topic, you can ask about any problems you're having regarding in-game quests and pokémon locations, along with anything else of the sort. Have at it, you phoenixes.

It's be best to bring a pokemon that has resistance against poison pokemon.

^ this

I generally find that using more defensive strategies unless you have a very clear advantage works out better than simply brute forcing the leaders, probably because they all actually have good Pokemon and moves unlike the main series games. For example, I beat Shelly and Shade by Hypnosis'ing their stronger Pokemon with Noctowl, and then switching to Gigalith and dropping them hard. In the case of Aya, I had Lanturn, Gigalith, Ninetales, Mawile, and Gardevoir (I forget the last pokemon- I just know it wasn't Blaziken because it was already at the level cap thanks obama) and I'd paralyze anything faster than Gardevoir with Lanturn before destroying their lives with her. Mawile lived through the entire battle from turn one, ending 2-0 with it and Ninetales.

TL;DR- probably going to need actual strategy as opposed to spam super-effective moves all day to win

EDIT: unless it's Earthquake.

Out of all the leaders after Julia: Shade, Shelly, and Aya gave me the least trouble. With Aya I had to use the double intimidate strategy with Gyarados and Luxray to take out Drapion before I sent out my Gardevoir (only reason why I managed to beat her Muk and Gengar).

Hey guys, just started this game and I think I messed up pretty bad.

I couldnt find a single worthwhile pokemon that I would ever want on my team prior to the second gym battle. As such, my Combusken and Spinda are too high of level and never listen to me :( I never once had this problem in other versions of the game; I didnt think levels would ever outscale gym battles.

So now Rini is whopping me. Most of the time I cant even take out Carnivine. Are there any recommended pokemon I could go catch in areas prior that would help me out with this?

Zubat is pretty worthwhile as long as you keep it from getting knocked out and with the hair salon place you could end up with a Crobat as early as level 24, only if you manage your poke cash wisely. Mine evolved at level 27 and you have a type advantage against Rini more or less.

Awesome I think I'm gonna go through the pains of getting a Golbat and then Crobat. I have a couple trainers left over so Ill have a higher level carry. Just to double check you can pick one up in the grass right outside the place where you get your starter, right? Certain time or day? I've been running around for awhile now

You basically circle around the forest, I can't post a screen shot right now since I'm at work. But, after a few attempts of trail and error you find out how to get through the forest. For now, just go walk around in a circle in that path that's available.

You're going up against the Hax Queen Serra, she is the biggest pain for fight. With her Glaceon (careful witt this one it outsped a crobat and an infernape with a speed boosting nature) having snow evasion as its ability and Abomasnow with its Snow Warning. It's a serious pain for the beginning of the battle and when I face her (7 attempts it took me to beat her) it was like she either got a crit or freeze every other turn. I suggest you have at least two fighting types or fire types, a dark type to battle her froslass one with a high speed stat. Also a pokemon or two with good Special Defense. For a level benchmark my average level for my whole team was 47-48, with my Inferape being level 49 at the beginning of the battle.

You should get an escavalier it's steel and bug so that should help, you can get it be trading

with a kid in the town that the gym is in by giving him a Shelmet. Also you should make sure the

shelmet is lvl 36 or under so when it gets to lvl 37 it learns iron head, plus you should try to get

the ability shell armor on it so that glacions frost breath doesn't always crit you.

No, unfortunately you don't get another badge between Shade and Aya. A lot of people including myself have ended up overlevelled by then, making Aya a pain to deal with, but there's nothing much you can do at this point.

Since this seems to be happening a lot, maybe there should be a list of tips somewhere, with one of them being 'Don't fight the trainers in Apophyll'...
