Roserade vs Dragalge

So I actually had a team planned out but then while picking up Beduw, I saw this little Calm natured guy.

I usually don't like using two mons of the same type and I love this shiny so for the first time I may use two posions on the team (or at least until I get to Turtwig or Leafeon).

Is Roserade any good without breeding cause if not I'll go with Dragalge cause I don't wanna breed on my first run through.

Without Breeding, your Roserade will likely end up with Leech Seed (Level Up), Giga Drain (Level Up), Venoshock (TM), and Toxic Spikes (Level Up). It's passable and has the Special Attack stat to work well, but you'll probably want to breed it to have it reach full potential (Hidden Power Type, Extrasensory, Sleep Powder)

Dragalge evolves late, but Adaptability and good Special Bulk make it a fine option as well. Dragon Pulse, Sludge Wave, Hydro Pump, and Toxic Spikes will probably be your moves assuming you don't Hidden Power breed.

A Rosarade needs Extrasensory and Sludge Bomb which it doesn't get on level up. Plus Dragalge nukes harder and takes hits better. It also gets Draco meteor which is the ultimate nuke though you might have to wait a while for it to learn that.

Imo roserade is way more usefull in reborn. You get access to Grassy Terrain which lets you cheese so many gym leaders by changing their field 😄
On the other hand when I tried using dralage, she wasn't as good as I wanted her to be, and ended replacing her very soon.

Another thing about dralage,  as far as remember, you get it rather late in game. Even if you get it from other player, it evolves to dralage at lv 48. Soo leveling it will be a bit painfull as skrelp is bit weak 😞

Budew evolves to roselia by happiness, and can be usefull in early game 😄

Roserade is great in Reborn. Beyond usual strategies already mentionned, it can abuse field effects.

Teach it Grassy Terrain and you can override gym leaders advantage. Combine that with fire type pokemons (Drought Ninetales with Heat Wave is perfect for that) to set the field ablaze and you can easily destroy even fire-resistant pokemons.

Combine it with a pokemons with Sludge Wave to create a corrosive field you can also abuse

Or simply use the Grassy Field itself, it will boost Growth to the power of Nasty Plot, will boost Gigs Drain, etc.

And if the current field suits you, you can abuse it with Nature Power.

Well, Roserade is one of my favorite Grass mons. as phoenica said, it's quite useful. It has access to Grassy Terrain, Toxic Spikes, Toxic and Ingrain which can be helpful in lots of battles. Also 95 Speed + 125 Special Attack are something to mind. It's ability techinician + Magical Leaf are a great combo. But it'll shine when have Sludge Bomb, Extrasensory and HP, which will give you many options and coverage.

Dragalge is just not my type. Too slow. It learns more powerful moves than Roserade through level up and also has access to good moves via other methods (Toxic Spikes, Haze > breed and Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Scald > TM)

In my opinion, even if you don't breed, Roserade will give you more options to work with the team. For example, both can learn Toxic Spikes but Roserade will almost always set it up first, Dragalge will work better on a Trick Room team though.

It all comes to the strategy you'll work. I'd go with Roserade xD

Never used dragalge but roserade is pretty neat with good special attack and lovely technician ability. It's my fave grass type hehe

Also, there's a mod to teach your budew egg moves without breeding, if you're into mods lol
