Simon
no words for that link M. Yerp, forgot to talk about the Seven Deadly Sins and Parasyte today. Both were really good, with Seven Deadly Sins finishing the fight between King and Helbram and leading up to some pretty amazing fights. In Parasyste, seeing the actions of the Assault Squad towards the public and Uragami.. gah, that urked me a bit. But the whole deal with Gotou, man that was pretty awesome. But the whole deal with Gotou, man that was pretty awesome. ikr? gotou is going to be pretty tough to beat, if that'll even happen, and the other parasyte will probably have a job similar to that of tamura (he'll likely end up dying, but give us a rational speech regarding the parasites vs humans issue before that) there are only four episodes left though, im starting to wonder if the ending will be satisfactory enough. i mean, we've yet to come across an extremely relevant event that changes everything, and they havent touched shinichii's dreams again. at this point, i can only see this "event" being a potential fight between shinichii and gotou, that could lead to serious harm or even death of a relevant character. im also still hoping we get to know more about the parasites and their origins >>
Simon
Yea, the more backstory we got on em, the better. Anyways, the chapters for Akame Ga Kill and Magi were mad good. I'm tempted to create a thread just to talk about manga to avoid spoiling, but idk. Tokyo Ghoul Root was something I definitely enjoyed, even with the small screentime they had for Kaneki. Seeing the sad past of Kuzen, from just him trying to survive and find a place to the him leaving his child, was very heartfelt. Too bad they did cut out some parts from the manga that I felt like were important. The next episode should be a sight to see, especially with that cliffhanger. JC Staff announces another weird LN adaptation but they can't do Index III? The novels are already 22 volumes away from where the anime left off, dammit. :/ I'll admit that the series name piques my interest, though. Anyways, the chapters for Akame Ga Kill and Magi were mad good. I'm tempted to create a thread just to talk about manga to avoid spoiling, but idk. Tatsumi raised the biggest death flag I've seen for Mein. Holy crap. I like you Tatsumi but you do not talk marriage to your comatose gf in this type of series. I'm now partially certain that Mein will be killed by Cosmina and Dorothea during their outing.
Simon
Quite interested as to why you think that'll occur Hiss, but then again, anything is possible at the moment. Jojo had its hilarious comedy with Polnareff and his lady friend I should say, but the current antagonist is meh. Just waiting for the one and only.. Assaination Classroom seemed different compared to the past episodes so far. Karma is a pretty chill character that I like so far so that could be why considering what he and the others did. Death Parade... oh man.. Nona, why do you make me think something else was gonna happen when this happens. Man, that cliffhanger was something else and the preview for the next episode.. hyped. Meruem
Sure. JC Staff announces another weird LN adaptation but they can't do Index III? The novels are already 22 volumes away from where the anime left off, dammit. :/ I'll admit that the series name piques my interest, though. I KNOW, RIGHT? This angers me SO much, I've been waiting for Index III for way too long now. The To Aru series were one of my first animes and are one of my favorites. Most arcs and action scenes are executed so well, and, overall, the show has so much potential in the way they explore esper abilities and magic. I haven't read much from where the anime left off (or played the VN, for that matter), but from what I've read and spoiled myself on, I can't wait for othinus, dark matter and the arcs that'll finish the god's right seat. And some supporting characters' own pasts too, like saiai's. Same here, it was a little more calm and didn't have as much action seems, but it was arguably even better than what we've got so far. Things seem to be getting serious, it just gives me the feeling that the show's coming to an end, which is great since it's likely not going to be rushed and will probably be very satisfactory too. Ass Class (sorry I had to) was fun to watch today, too. Once again, the animation was superb on the action scenes, and I simply couldn't help but root for the characters. Also, I like the small development they're giving to the supporting characters every now and then. Death Parade... I have no words. This episode was simply amazing. They've pretty much broken out of the episodic structure at this point, while maintaining all the awesomeness contained in the games. These particular cases (i.e. when killers are the ones being judged and also, as seen before, people like mayu who can't be judged) make the show a lot better because of how unpredictable it becomes. Instead of using the same situations over and over again, they try to find the most unusual ones and explore them as much as possible, which makes the show that great. Can't wait for the next episode, that cliffhanger was too much, seriously.
Support Squad Felicity Posted February 27, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted February 27, 2015 I need to catch up badly. The only things sustaining me is the fact that I've read the manga for TG and parasyte, the two I had been watching this season
Hiss13
Quite interested as to why you think that'll occur Hiss, but then again, anything is possible at the moment. Weirdly enough, I feel like I've seen something similar to what I predicted. It's on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember what it is at all. Well, that and this ain't YuYuYu (also written by Takahiro) where Takahiro literally said that he didn't want to kill off any of the cast because they didn't do anything wrong…or something along those lines. I KNOW, RIGHT? This angers me SO much, I've been waiting for Index III for way too long now. The To Aru series were one of my first animes and are one of my favorites. And some supporting characters' own pasts too, like saiai's.sly. Let me say first that if you loved the anime, then you should absolutely read the light novels. They are fantastic. Volumes 01 and 02 of the LNs are absolutely amazing and my favorite Old Testament volumes alongside WWIII. These two volumes are what sold Touma as a character to me. Reading these two volumes especially gave me a whole new appreciation for the series itself. I would read them if I were you especially since Volume 02 had less than half of it adapted for the anime. But yeah. Read all of the novels from the beginning and I guarantee that you will love them even more than the anime (especially since you said you love the anime). That being said, I am not holding my breath for Index III. Besides, if Index III did come, I expect it to only adapt Volumes 14-19 which is ends right before WWIII (which would be great). Well, the main solace for me is that the next volume of the novels (and the start of a new overarching story arc) will be released on March 10th. So I'm already hyped. I'll probably catch up during the spring break, in 3 weeks.

Simon
True, true. I actually liked him back when he just hanging out with the twins, but I don't know. Right now, I hate his guts. And Izaya probably is considering the last scene they showed. Also, that moment with Shizuo haha.
The Fush
any moment with shizuo in it is gold i don't really know enough about aoba to form a proper opinion of him yet, he just seems VERY underestimating of Izaya and VERY overestimating of himself so far like if there's one thing durarara does its wait a long time to fully develop a character you can tell he lets shit get to his head considering he's always cracking that smile when talking to mikado with his goons and tending to rehighlight when the izaya twins smooched him
Support Squad Felicity Posted March 2, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted March 2, 2015 Not related to any of the show this season So, today I was talking to some friends and recently me and someone else suggested binge watching an anime, I think it was Angel Beats, and we invited a few other friends who aren't too partial to Anime to see if they might like it. Thing is, one friend of mine just outright declined. Nomally that would have been fine, but his reason for declining was "Anime is Shit". I know for a fact he has next to no experience with the medium, so I start asking why, but I can't get an actual, reasonable answer aside from "It's shit". It makes me genuinely sad that people, even one of my best friends, are so narrow-minded in regards to Anime.

It makes me genuinely sad that people, even one of my best friends, are so narrow-minded in regards to Anime. You're not alone, trust me. I totally feel you there. I only have about three irl friends that actually like anime, and even then, they've only watched a bunch of mainstream crap like Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Bleach, SAO, Fairy Tail, AOT and TG. I don't mean that these are bad, but seriously, they act like complete weaboos and don't really care about other shows (shows that are actually really good and worth praising). Still trying to convince one of them to watch Higurashi, Hunter x Hunter, Fate and Psycho-Pass, tho he's also making me watch Fairy Tail, which I have no interest in >_>. Fate's quality is easily comparable to The Game of Thrones, something most of my friends watch, while Psycho-Pass is the perfect example of how to treat a Police Mystery show the right way, without having a shitty episodic structure or resorting to bad comedy. Hunter x Hunter is, like, the best and most consistent shounen ever to be made (so the exact opposite for Naruto/One Piece/Bleach/Fairy Tail, etc). Higurashi is just... I'm a fucking fanboy for that show, it was the most enjoyable shit to watch to me, ever. Then you've got amazing things like Madoka, Baccano! and Zankyou no Terror, that are just so good and unique that there are practically no comparable "real" TV shows to them. Not to mention that all of these are ten times more violent than most of the crap they watch, which is funny, because one of the main reasons they use to bash on anime is that they treat them as "cartoons for kids". Other than these three friends I mentioned, most of the others are way too narrow-minded and treat anime as if it were complete shit, when they haven't even tried a decent one (or one at all, tbh). The only justification they give me is something like "lol fuck ur yu-gi-oh cartoons, they're shit, for nerds and for kids" - quoted the exact way it came out of their mouths. Plus, it's not like I'm even trying to make the latter ones watch an anime. As long as it comes up to the conversation, they instantly bash on it like utter retards. These type of reactions really disappoint me, but in the end it's their loss. I'm sure they would've enjoyed most of these shows even more than I did, if they gave them a try. Most of my friends aren't harsh at all when it comes to movies/TV shows, and are easily entertained by crap like shitty comedies that focus on a bunch of overused sex jokes and have nothing but a piss-poorly written story, boring and plain bad episodic police shows and terrible romances like fifty shades of fuck. also a girl whos a really big friend of mine called anime crap and likes to watch spongebob. i think ive said enough. Hiss13
The attitudes people have towards anime can be plain ridiculous. It's a medium. I can guarantee that there will be something for everyone. It makes me glad that I have friends who actually watch anime and watch more than simply the mainstream Shonen series. That being said, why is it that the only anime this season that is actually making me eager for more is Yu-gi-oh Arc-V? Seriously. The series is awesome. No other series this season is making me annoyed that I have to wait another week for a new episode.

I hate that Force is on hiatus since it was starting to get really interesting. I really love Vandein's character. The guy's too much fun and probably the only character to ever make Nanoha fear for her life onscreen.
VoxelHeart
On the topic that Anime is a medium, I know this first hand. I tend to prefer animes that are psychological, horror, tragedy, you know... stuff like PsychoPass, (and some other manga's, like Berserk) ones where there is blood and gore, and main protagonists die. So I like to say, "I like anime," but then whenever I meet someone who also says that, turns out they watch stuff like High School DxD and other ecchi like romance stuff I feel like puking watching. So yeah... when I tell people I watch anime I never am able to relate to others who watch it as well, kinda makes me sad.
