Hiss13
I love what they did with 8man in the intro of the Oregairu finale, even though the cliffhanger at the end was like "NOW YOU'VE GOTTA BUY MY LIGHT NOVELS." It's like forced DLC but for anime. Light novel adaptations tend to be like that. In reality, they're generally advertisements for their more superior source material counterpart. I didn't watch Onegairu so I can't say anything about that.
CrazySheriff
This really was a good season(especially compared to the winter) but yeah some shows werent as interesting as they were on start. Shokugeki is getting better and better, I did read the manga but I enjoy the adaptation, they did a good job. Sad because of no new episode of kekkai sensen, Probably dropping Ore mon, just like someone said nothing new is brought into the story. Plastic Memories. Damn I liked this one. I tend to watch some drama/sad stuff from time to time and the last episode really made me sad but also left me satisfied. Yahari ore, good show as always, but last few episodes were kinda meh to me. I understood most of the stuff but it left me without the answers I wanted. Cant wait to read the LN. Dungeon - good action scenes as always, the MC feels op from time to time but he is just trying really hard to protect his friends. And interesting family info on the end. Support Squad Felicity Posted June 28, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted June 28, 2015 I mean, I can't blame Yahari for ending on the suggestion to read the LNs. It's a bit of a failsafe in case there's no season 3 so that there's still some a bit more attention for the author on the last few novels. It makes sense from a business stand point, even if the consumer kinda gets shafted by it. Also, I may watch Plastic memories next weekend. I figured if they were gonna go for the feels I may as well rush it aall so that each episodes feels compounded like it did with Angel beats. Get the maximum feelage out of it rather than get emotional each week only for a long ass cooldown period.
Hiss13
I FINALLY caught up with my backlog for the season on all but one of the series I watched~ Time for some final impressions Assassination Classroom: This was solid. I already read the manga so I knew what to expect for the anime and I got what I expected so it was all good. JJBA: That Dio vs Jotaro fight in the last two episodes was the main reason I came to Stardust Crusaders and it didn't disappoint. Owari no Seraph: Pretty good series with a fairly likable main cast. If only it wasn't the case that all but one of the Shinoa Unit's members was a tsundere. FSN UBW: Solid. Far better than the movie overall and the production values were off the charts. Meanwhile, the Shirou vs Gilgamesh fight was incredibly well done. Huh…if only Shinji didn't survive. After Heaven's Feel, I became 100% certain that Shinji was an irredeemable asshole (to put it lightly) Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Vivid: Another solid one. It took me a while to get used to the art-style from the new studio but it became a solid adaptation of its manga. I can only anticipate the Sieg vs Einhart battle in the next season~ Houkago no Pleiades: Hands down, my absolute favorite for the season. This was one of those anime that kept me watching and enjoying it to the bitter end. Not to mention that they created a nice and small cast that was really well developed. Now then…time to go back to looping Radiant Force by Aoi Yuuki, Nana Mizuki, and Ayahi Takagaki and Exterminate by Nana Mizuki in order to hype myself up for the Summer Broadcast Season~ Edited June 29, 2015 by Hiss13
Meruem
alright, I'll leave my first impressions on the shows i decided to watch this season, in case someone's interested on them but isnt completely convinced on watching them: - Gangsta: Whether you're into this type of action/mafia shows or not, I think you'll greatly enjoy this. I'm already loving this, just from the first episode. The city is pretty dark, as expected, filled with prostitution and drug dealing, which are pretty common issues nowadays and is something that you rarely see in anime. Not much has happened so far, other than a proper introduction of the characters and some action scenes. The characters are all very interesting, especially Nicolas (due to a deficiency that I'm not going to spoil here, but that I had never seen portrayed so well in an anime) and Alex. The action scenes are okay, though I expected more from Manglobe. Try watching at least the first few episodes, the writing seems great from just one episode and I guarantee you'll enjoy it. - Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace: Seems okay so far. I would probably not recommend it unless you're into horror/mystery shows that involve solving murders, such as danganronpa and death note. The setting is pretty interesting, it has some things going for it such as the characters, which have been given decent backgrounds so far, but I can still see it becoming crap. At least it's not going to be as terrible as shows like Pupa, which I had initially expected lol. Speaking of dangaronpa, the studio and people doing this are the same as the ones who adapted danganronpa, so you should expect a similar bizarre mix between comedy/horror and interesting murder cases to solve. - Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri: HOTD/STRIKE THE BLOOD OPENING Military and Fantasy is a weird mix. A really weird mix. Not much has happened on this first episode, so it's hard to give a recommendation. In fact, rather than episode 1, this seems like the prologue lol. The characters that seem the most interesting haven't even showed up yet and I'm not entirely convinced by that main character either. Also, it seems like the show is trying to be dark or is going to get dark, but at the same time, they keep putting in some slightly lighter/less serious moments so I can't even take the entire thing seriously. I really need to watch at least two or three more to see if it's really worth continuing. - Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki: ... (to be updated. episode 1 and 2 are both out in some places, but in shitty quality. waiting for it to be on kissanime or something) - Charlotte: Well, as of now, the protagonist's just an hateful shithead you can't possibly relate to in any way. The other cast is somewhat interesting, though some characters are kind of stereotypical/copies from previous shows (i.e. the imouto and the guy with glasses who provides comic relief in an absurd way). Given this is KEY, I can already predict almost every single possible way the show is going to go from here, meaning it will not be interesting in any way, though I'm still hoping this will surprise me eventually and that it doesn't end up being a shitty melodramatic romcom. TL;DR: don't bother watching this unless you're an angel beats! fanboy who doesn't mind watching stereotypical characters in a predictable romcom full of annoying over-dramatic moments. - Rokka no Yuusha: This seems really promising (DAT ANIMATION THO) but, sadly, it seems like it's going to be a 12 episode show, which is really disappointing (unless this is just the first season). I really hope they don't rush things, because it has a lot of potential. I also surprisingly like the main character, which says a lot because, usually, these type of cocky protagonists tend to be really hate-able. The only issue I had with it was the soundtrack, which seriously annoys me because it's just typical crap you hear on every fantasy anime or movie, be it the instruments used or the rhythm. In any case, you should definitely give this one a try. - Gatchaman Crowds Insight: For starters, this is a sequel to Gatchaman Crowds, in case you didn't know, so FIRST GO WATCH THAT don't bother with it unless you've seen the first season. Anyway, I really liked the prequel, so I have high hopes for this. They've already introduced two new characters which I think will eventually get the right development (mainly the albino looking chick) and play a relevant role in the story. Also, Hajime and O.D. are back and they're still providing 90% of the awesomeness, like they were in the first season. The only thing left to find out is what's the show going to try to accomplish this time, since what it did on the first season was way beyond my expectations. Definitely watch this if you liked the first season enough. - Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai: What on the living fuck even. Every now and then, a comedy show like this airs and most of the times it is produced by J.C. Staff. A comedy that's so bizarre and weird that you've never ever seen something that compares in any way to it. I have a lot of doubts because this type of comedies tend to fail on delivering a good story and ending with the right character development (a good example being watamote) and are therefore not even worth your time. But, at the same time, this had me laughing for a good amount of time with just the first episode. I'm going to stick with this and I'll also recommend that you do, if you have enough free time. I really hope I'm not disappointed by the end because it seems to be pretty promising so far. I think those are all the ones that started airing this week and that I decided to give a try. Not sure tho, could be missing one or two. on a different topic, this episode of shokugeki was great as per usual. ive reached a point where i cant help but enjoy every single episode that comes out every week. seeing how the characters deal with irregularities and unexpected twists is so much fucking fun. ALSO FINALLY THEY ENDED IT PROPERLY AND WITHOUT MAKING ME SUFFER WAITING A WHOLE WEEK TO SEE HOW THINGS TURN OUT Edited July 5, 2015 by MMM
Support Squad Felicity Posted July 4, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted July 4, 2015 I agree with the verdict on Gangsta but I haven't got around to a lot of this season. Nicholas is a very interesting character yes, I love his design as well as how he simply acts all throughout the episode. And that final scene with the cop was just, well, it sent shivers arunning Also Shokugekis episode was good simply in how they knew another few episodes of tension would start hurting. They took the chance to give the audience that pay off of relief and it worked fantastically, setting them up for the second half of the show quite nicely. Hiss13
Senki Zesshou Symphogear continues to be awesome aswell. Catching up atm first eps of durara, gatchman crowds insight, charlotte and Rokka no yuusha are subbed now aswell. Someone also watching Symphogear! Can I have a hug please? Anyways, first impressions: Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX: Those first 7 minutes set the tone for the series. I was watching the raws live as it was airing and I have to say, watching those first 7 minutes with the missile surfing, shuttle surfing, punching through K2, and suplexing a space shuttle over a building was such a freaking rush. The concert scene was also visually stunning. I am already impatiently waiting for next Friday's episode. 10/10 for a wonderful start. DRRRx2!! Ten: A nice way to return back to the series, though it did feel a bit disconnected at first. Luckily, that was fixed as the episode went on. Still, the episode was a wonderful reminder that Izaya is a complete sociopath. Edited July 4, 2015 by Hiss13
Support Squad Felicity Posted July 4, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted July 4, 2015 Aight -Gangsta: Opinion above, I like the main two protags -Gate: I kinda really, really like this one so far. The opening made me think of the song from highschool of the dead, which is one of the best parts of that titfest. The protagonist is also interesting. Dude works for his hobby. Easy, done deal. He's also a generally nice guy, though this is offset by the fact that he quickly and easily murders an enemy just like that. plus there's the simple concept of ARMY VS MUTHAFUCKING FANTASY SHIT LESGO. That fantasy land is about to get Destroyed, until they bring out magic nukes. -Kekkai sensen, y u no have an episode anywhere cri, so close to being done QQ

Support Squad Felicity Posted July 7, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted July 7, 2015 I quite liked Overlord. It's neatly distinguished itself in it's genre whilst using a nice chunk of the associated tropes quite well, the music was quite nice and they got a lot of the character intros out of the way just like that in 1 episode. It's given itself a lot to work with and has me hooked, so I'd say it was a good start. I also thought it was a nice touch how the characters thoughts and the skeleton voice is different. I imagine some studios may have hired one VA for both voices but the difference between the two is nice. Especially in a show which is probs gonna be very soliloquy heavy. Also Monster girl was hot and heavy for that skeleton, jesus christ. No, I'm not going to make the obvious bone joke, I'm better than that. Meruem
MONSTER GIRLS LOOKS AMAZING, IM SO FUCKING HYPED FOR NEXT WEEK. its so much fun to watch ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and its pretty uncommon for an ecchi/harem. the show (specifically the protagonist) is constantly making questions that ive always had whenever watching shows that have feminine supernatural creatures like this (how do they fuck do it, how do they put on underwear, etc). besides, the way part of the society rejects them opens a lot of chances for character development that you normally wouldn't see in ecchi/harems. or they could just use this for some comedic relief, like having that specific couple laugh and get smacked on every single episode. Meruem
ok there's a shit ton of yaoi and pedophilia on game of laplace, holy shit. and whats up with lerche and trap characters (dangaronpa, ass class and this). though, at the same time, this is one of the few shows where ive managed to find that uncommon, bizarre mix of horror and comedy. gangsta was pretty great again, cant wait to see more depth on nico's past. and HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHIT CHAOS DRAGON'S OPENING Yeah i just hope they dont focus to much on Yuki´s illusions (90% of the first ep), that would ruin the show so much. from some manga pages ive read, it seems like its going to be mainly from miki and kurumi's pov. this is tagged as a school slice of life though, so we're still going to see a lot of scenes from yuki's perspective. EDIT: OH MY GOD http://prntscr.com/7qvse5. you can see this message for a few frames during one of yuki's illusions. maybe yuki's pov wont be all that boring? if they keep putting some clues like this, it would make her illusions 100% more interesting to watch.
