And mystery will too. This is a dance of masks, and the wearer can easily change. A person can change to become more like a costume, and costumes are easily interchangeable and disposable. Just because someone is on your side at the moment, doesn't mean they are in the next. You never know who could be under the mask, and maybe not knowing is better then knowing. With that in mind, I wish you safe travels and a fun time in Masquerade Madness. Rules Reveal hidden contents (1) The Reborn Forum rules apply here. (2) All Player Discussion must be kept in the thread; mandated special private chats may also be utilized. Other forms of contact outside of these such as Private Chats without the Host’s permission, IRL contact, and other methods are not allowed. (3) Day Phase lasts for 48 hours. Players must make at least 2 posts and vote per day phase. Failure to meet this requirement for two day phases (even non consecutive) will result in replacement or mod intervention. (4) Voting is done in the format: [Eliminate] Player Name or in similar formats. Changing of votes may be done in this format: [Unvote] Player Name. All votes must be placed in bold or they are not counted. You must vote every day and the most voted player will be lynched. (5) Night Phase lasts for 24 hours. Players are not allowed to comment in the thread. Violation of this rule will result in warning (1st offence) and disqualification (2nd offence). (6) Sharing of Role PMs – through screenshots, verbatim copying, or other forms – to other players is illegal. Consequences will be given to violators. (7) If you are eliminated in any way, you may have a final post, that will not reflect critical game information such as night actions and the like. (8) Actions – day or night – should be sent to me via PM (Forums) or DM (Discord). (9) Editing of posts is discouraged. If you have minor corrections, you may do so, but if you wish to have additions, you must make a new post or quote your previous post if you wish to highlight the addition. (10) Respect the host and other players! Have fun! What is Mafia Reveal hidden contents Mafia is a social deduction game which requires analyzing, cooperation, and looking through lies. There are two main factions in a mafia game: the Uninformed Majority [Town], who have to find others of their kind while hunting for the mafia, and the Informed Minority [Mafia], who have a private chat and plan there on how they should trick the town and whom they should kill. There may also be Third Party or Independent roles, which have different agendas and win conditions. At the beginning of the game, players receive a PM or a DM (in some cases) with their role and alignment. There are two major phases in a Mafia game: (1) The Day Phase – Typically lasting 48 hours, players use this opportunity to discuss about several things, which may include the outcome of the previous phases, behavior of players, and flow of the game; the ultimate goal in the day phase is for the Town players to find the Mafia slowly while Mafia players have to blend in carefully. Before the day ends, players must vote for a player whom they want to be eliminated on grounds of suspicion and the player receiving the most votes will be eliminated. (2) The Night Phase – Typically lasting 24 hours, the thread is considered “locked” at this point and players may not comment at all. Instead, players with night actions, special abilities related to their role, may use these to aid their faction. The Mafia also discusses in the private chat on whom to dispose of. The game continues until one of the major factions attains their win condition or unless it is no longer possible. Opening Narritave Reveal hidden contents Dancing. Classical music and ballroom dancing. That was supposed to define the evening. Murder was nowhere on my agenda. But it happened regardless. Someone was murdered in plain sight. And the funny thing is, I gave everyone a way to hide their guilt. They can just hide it behind a mask and no one would suspect a thing. So I ask you, unmask the masked brigands. Don't let the guilty hide away behind a mask, detective. Factions Reveal hidden contents Ballgoers: The uninformed majority. They win when all remaining players share their win condition. Their win condition is the eliminate of the informed minority. Marauders- This is the somewhat informed minority. They win when they equal or outnumber the remaining players not aligned with them. Third parties: These folks have their own unique win conditions. Roles Reveal hidden contents Confirmed innocents. Sleuth: Reveal hidden contents The Sleuth is a well dressed Sherlock Holmes imitation. He got all the details right down to the exact tweed pattern. Hopefully his deductive skills are to match. They better be if he wants to get out alive. Reversionist: Reveal hidden contents As much as the Reversionist, in his old fashioned tuxedo and gallant mannerisms, stands out among a crowd, he is wholly good it appears. Just because he has a natural aversion to modern things doesn't mean he's evil. He really enjoys balls, masquerades, although not his favorite due to modern costumes, are no exception. Physician: Reveal hidden contents The physician is one of the very few people at the ball who actually mostly is not partaking in ball activities. He is the Party Host's in house doctor. Any injuries upon the ballroom floor are his responsibility to fix. Wouldn't want any sprained ankles from dancing. He is a fan of hospital jokes. Seer: Reveal hidden contents Adorned in what appears to be a gypsy costume with a real crystal ball to boot, the Seer has one of the most in depth costumes. In fact, for enough money she will try to imitate a real gypsy, palm readings and everything of that sort included. Helper: Reveal hidden contents The Helper is a fairly selfless girl. Years of working for big performances have taught her emergency sowing skills, allowing her to repair most any costume damage at a whim. Her and the physician are good friends, if only because they are mostly confined to the sidelines. Knave: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents This guy is a most dishonest fellow who often lies and trips over himself. No one trusts him with secrets, given that he is crafty. He is a fair weather friend, often leaving situations that don't favor him. Storyteller: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The storyteller is a jovial old grandfatherly figure. Some might claim he is more like an uncle, much to his dismay, but he does have grandfatherly charm in his new constant storytelling. Didn't help he was once a reporter, meaning he always has some near endless story to tell. It's kinda unnerving to a few how he has a story for every situation, including his current one. His confidence of escaping the manor alive so he can live to tell the tale is a little off-putting to a few. Performer: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The Performer's ability to get into character is only rivaled by that of the Cosplayer. The Performer is a talented entertainer hired to provide entertainment if the Ball gets boring. Conversationalist: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents Although she prefers the title 'Conversationalist', gossiper would be more accurate. No gossip escapes her and her circle of melodramatic friend. Some find it kinda odd that she finds gossip even in the face of death. People are beginning to wonder how she gets some of this gossip, some of the rumors seem particularly hard to extract from the apparent source. Improviser: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents This poor girl is a creative, clumsy, ditz at the best of times. Having forgotten any sort of costume, the poor girl has had to take a pair of scissors to her clothes to make a borderline scandalous costume. Not even the Helper can help this girl with her costume. Maid: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The Maid has been at the manor serving others for most of her life. She grumbles about the tasks occasionally, but she is always able to be counted on when things need to get done. She yearns for freedom from the manor though and will seize it the instant it arrises. She has been confined to the kitchen for a good portion of the ball to prepare the food. Mis-matcher: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents This clumsy clown is the horror of any cosplayer or masquerader. He has absolutely no fashion sense, to the point of where it looks like he grabbed some cool black half-mask and whatever was on the top of his closet. The mere fact that he always seems to be holding some sort of chocolate, probably from his cargo pants pocket, is unnerving. Doubly so when you know he is secretive about his pockets. Either he is a serious chocoholic, or a latent criminal. Maybe both. Maybe a more important thing to ask is why he had so much chocolate in a pair of pants hanging in his closet. Worrywart: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The Worrywart has one of the almost severe lack of confidence known to mankind. He lacks zero confidence in himself, his costume, or his talents. He is very much a pessimistic who constantly puts himself down by comparing himself to others. People have to wonder if he is the murderer. It would make sense if he did it out of a sense of jealousy. Clergyman Reveal hidden contents The Clergyman is a benevolent old priest at a nearby church and happens to be on good terms with even the most unruly sort of people. Some wonder how he is on such good terms with ruffians who would never be caught dead in a church. Some claim he is a satanist, and others claim he is a cultist, or that he leads the radical sect of some religious group. Regardless, everyone can agree that he uses fear to preach as much as love. He is very much a fire and brimstone preacher Reveal hidden contents . Messenger: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The messenger is a grim sort of fellow, having combined real life and his costume for a unique, odd, frightening result. Although he looks like a mailman, he is an undertaker outside the ball. He fancies himself as some messenger of death, delivering wills he claims are in his post bag. Not that he lets anyone look in it. The mail is sacred. It's the most important thing in a time of crisis. At least that's what he claims. He gets mad if he sees you opening a letter not addressed to you. He doesn't like being shot at. Disgruntled Patron: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents Every party has that guy. Everyone knows him, he is often the black sheep of social events. Drunk, quick to anger, very vocal and very slow to forget, you don't want to get on his bad side. No one would doubt it or even bat an eye if he was accused of murder. They all expect it. Well Dressed Patron: Reveal hidden contents This girl was a little overprepared, using the masquerade as an excuse to wear her largest ball gown she hadn't yet had time to wear. No one doubts that she might be hiding things in her costume. According to a few others, she's hidden bigger things in less. Reveal hidden contents Distracter: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents One of the Conversationalist's cousins, she absolutely loves the expression that results from completely blindsiding someone with a secret or even just making their train of thought completely derail. And somehow, her secret she uses to do such things are somehow always true. Even the wildest ones were accurate. No one trusts the Conversationalist, and, by extension, the Distracter, her accomplice. Doorman: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents This guy is the simple doorman, although basically a bouncer, which he dresses up as. He makes sure everyone who gets in has an invitation. Nothing gets past this guy if he watches a point. Well, most things don't. He makes it a challenge if his to guess everyone's costume and real identity as they enter. It seems he made more then a few bets about who would wear what. Everyman: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The Everyman is a pretty standard, average guy, according to himself. He is willing to put the extra mile into anything he does. As a result, he can accomplish things no one could have dreamed he would be capable of, being as good as the best at times. But he's not a master of it by any regard. Footman: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The footman is a rather jovial, flirtatious fellow. He has a tendency to flirt with literally anyone as he walks them to their room for the night or to the ballroom. Or anywhere. He hasn't been successful yet, but not for a lack of trying. Despite this, no one trusts him too much due to the unfortunate facts which he claims he had no control over. The mere fact that a few people have vanished from their rooms put everyone on edge. And one person visited everyone who vanished from their rooms, and knew which room everyone was in... Party Host: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents No one wants to accept the fact that the Host could be evil. But it would make sense, if the Host was hiding them, as no one has more of a knowledge of the manor then him. He is a cheery, positive peacemaker despite the theories and mood. He is responsible for the Ball and the invitations. Confirmed guilty parties: Vagrant: Reveal hidden contents Reveal hidden contents The Vagrant is the only uninvited guest the Host even partially approved of. Originally a squatter on the Manor Grounds, he evaded many attempts to arrest him. After a time, the Host found he deserved to be on that land after so many escapes. Rain poured and slammed down around the manor, drenching the Footman and any new arrivals. Inside, soft music was heard as the guests danced and swayed in a hall, a mask and costume hiding their features. With a boom of lightening, the lights went out and stayed out. A scream could be heard from one of the masked ballgoers. A high pitched, ethereal voice floated straight into everyone souls. 'Say Goodnight everyone. I kiss you all a sweet, permenant, goodnight.' DigitalAmber Posted September 15, 2018 Author Share Posted September 15, 2018 Day 1 The servants of the manor and a few guests finally managed to fix the lighting issue that had happened last night and they still couldn't find the voice that had spooked every single guest in the room. Many guests had costumes in disarray when the morning came and mourned their losses. Finally, someone managed to get the lights back on. The Party Host and multiple squeamish guests wished they hadn't. Lord Draykle was found hanging from the ceiling, the strap of his costume's satchel made into a noose. Multiple paper cuts adorned his slowly rotating body and envelopes laid scattered below his feet. Lord Draykle is dead. He was the Messenger. He was TownSided. Day 1 has begun and lasts 48 hours. 1. Alistair Posted September 15, 2018 Share Posted September 15, 2018 To my knowledge Drakyle isn't someone who is often N0'd, so there isn't really a pattern to be studied here. Xe can sometimes come up with good ideas and an original perspective however; being a rather vocal and involved player, xe looks like a good target to silence early. The decision to eliminate xem doesn't strike me as bad or nonsensical. Could have been the doing of either mafia or vigilante, but this is a set-up with a small number of players. A potential vigilante should tread very carefully otherwise they may give a significant advantage to the mafia early on. My personal opinion is that Drakyle was killed by the mafia, I don't see an uninformed player randomly deciding to kill xem like this. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Looking back at one game a Mafia died to a Random N0 Vigilante Action. So there is always the possibility. With that beeing the case, Mafia could have attacked someone who got protected.
