phoenica
Hey i just realized that Windy weather is weather that did not exist in other pokemon games. Does anyone knows if it affects combat in anyway? Like rain halving fire moves dmg by 50%? Can it be generated by some moves?
Swampellow
It does actually exist in the official games! It’s the same weather created by Mega Rays Delta Stream, which removes flying types weaknesses
CrossImpact
I'm p sure it's this thing The only Pokémon ever having access to a 'wind' weather is Mega Rayquaza, with its Ability Delta Stream, which will, in addition to the effect of removing Flying-type weaknesses, also hinder other weather moves and abilities from working, with the exception of Desolate Land (Primal Groudon) and Primordial Sea (Primal Kyogre). (To clarify, Reborn's windy weather does not have these additional effects.) Unless I have missed something big-gish, no move or anything else can create it. Autumn Zephyr
Tailwind can create it in the Mountain, Volcanic Top, and Snowy Mountain Field Effects, but those are some pretty niche scenarios- as far as I'm aware, you cannot create them outside of bouncing between them or pulling some shenanigans with the Sky Field. Though that description CrossImpact pulled up is curious- why did PSMD decide that the only pokemon worthy of being boosted by the Wind were Arceus and Tornadus (silvally didn't exist yet)? That just seems silly, given that the pokemon that activates it can't even benefit from it!
phoenica
Volcanic top? You sure thats a thing? I'm pretty sure that field effect at top of volcano is just "superheated field"
Autumn Zephyr
Hmmm... it seems Rejuvenation replaced Superheated with a more mountainous (and arguably common) variant. Can't say that choice doesn't make sense, though- you are on top of a volcano when you find it, after all.
CrossImpact
Ah, of course Tailwind can do that, yes. Have I been to Teknite Range or have I not :') Me fool. And I just noticed that for PSMD it says "pure" Flying-types, which is not the case in Reborn. Mixed Flying-types benefit as well. ...Arceus and Tornadus are the only pure ones? lol ...Well that's not a surprise anymore if you think about how they strapped the Normal-type to any of the early available birds ever. Autumn Zephyr
Yeah, it's pretty bizarre to think about. Prior to Gen. 5, it seems to have been pure coincidence- at around Unova's era, it became pretty clear Game Freak didn't even want to think about the concept of there being anything without a Type, doing such wonderful things as redubbing Curse as a Ghost move, dummying out Arceus' ??? Forme completely (which is especially odd, given that the Azure Flute and the God Stone are both floating about the games' coding to this day, if I remember correctly), and ensuring that neither of the pure-Flying Types could learn Roost. Yes, this is despite the fact that Tornadus is the one of the Genies that wound actually being a friggin' bird. And then Burn Up happened, and the rest is history.
