Hello I just came back from life to the game and found an update. My old pc died so I deiced to start a new file but there was something really rubs salt into the wound. 

The first double to save pachirisu was it switch or randomized or does the gender of the trainer matter on getting the pokemon first hand?

(I picked a female and it was a useless zigzagoon and then a no gender and got pachirisu and then tried a male and got pachirisu)

I was just wondering since I still kept my first save file sadly without the pachirisu so I would have to wait till the woods soon.

its all random so I guess you've got bad luck with female characters

That happens sometimes. Its completely random and not dependent on gender. There are other changes as well such as instead of the above level 20 Snubull its a Stuful and stuff like that.

The moment you pick your starter up, all event pokemon that have multiple candidates for one spot (like the police egg, slums egg, onyx ward egg, malchous forest egg etc) are selected and set for your save-file. If you save game before picking starter, then reach that place again, any can be found.

 

But Zigzagoon is far from useless; at 11 level, it learns Headbutt. At this point in the game, other than Bidoof, it is the earliest one to use trees and also, it makes a great HM-slave!

Thank you, sorry for the late reply to the answer. But also I really don't care about the trees to be fair, so I let that Zigzagoon in a box to never poke again. ^^;

Welp I started with my starter and do not want to change due to being lucky with early shinies ^__^;

The Pokemon you get here is randomly picked I believe when you get your starter,  or maybe its talk to Victoria. The same holds true for the mystery egg, Espurr/Minncino, Joltik/Grubbin, etc.

 

But...Zigzagoon's not useless. Its more useful than Pachirisu really, not that that's hard. It gets Pickup (which admittedly Pachirisu does as well), gains Mud Sport by level up, allowing you to totally negate Julia's field, learns pin missile by level up, which devastates Florinia's team, learns most of the HM moves, etc. Not to mention getting headbutt, a 70 bp STAB move really early. Its a solid Pokemon in the early game.
