My introduction to Pokemon Reborn

Hey Reborn peoples, I got into this amazing game a little while ago and I couldn't help but create an account on this site. I browsed these forums for a couple of weeks, so I thought I might as well have joined.

First and foremost, this game is absolutely outstanding. I haven't been this drawn into a Pokemon game since I started Nuzlocking. The story and difficulty of the game is so appealing. The characters are also fantastic and lovable (EXCEPT you Fern). Ame is also an expert at torturing me in my Pokemon choices (it took me hours to choose a starter).

The gym leaders of this game need their own section here. They are a huge step up from common Pokemon games and this has been needed for a long while. Florinia is the first and only gym leader to ever defeat me. Although I'm probably in the minority here, I'd love it if you'd keep Aya and Serra the same, if not make them more intense! Or you make the rival battles tougher, especially for Fern (if he's going to talk all that trash, he needs to have the skills to back it up).

I love how this game makes me think about my team and about the actual story. The story is very engaging, but sometimes it feels as if your character is being put to the side in regards to the whole gym quest. It feels like your character is taking on gyms just because.

Anyways, this game is fantastic! I can't wait to see how everything plays out and I plan to try to be active in the Reborn community. Thanks for reading and stuff!

Hi hi. :) Nice to see you're enjoying the game so much, I'm sure it'll make Ame happy. Yeah, Florinia can be trouble for some people, depending on what your starter was (Combusken smashes her easily). The whole six pokes/high levels/good movesets thing is something that's done in most rom hacks and RPG Maker games. Anyways, hope you have a fun time here.

Welcome to the community!

I actually had to restart my entire game because of Rini and the level cap... Some people say Julia is tough but Rini was definitely my bittersweet awakening in the world of Reborn.

I wouldn't mind if Fern got beefed up. He's a total joke. I usually take one or two pokemon that are much lower level to fights with Fern to proxy level them. Aya and Serra are pretty tough for newer players but I agree with you; they both have strategies/certain Pokemon to beat them, as long as there's some counter play there's no need to swing the nerf bat!

Welcome dood!=D

I trained a bit for Florinia since I kept hearing that she was, well, difficult. I did sweep her team with a lvl.23 Trubbish with the ability stench, moves Acid Spray, Sludge, Stockpile, & Toxic Spikes & a Sitrus Berry equipped. I thought I wouldn't be able to win, but somehow I did, Trubbish went to lvl.26 after the battle. I'm currently working on the 3rd gym (I took a big break after Florinia). But yeah the game & difficulty are great, though I never done a Nuzlocke playthrough before, & it interests me alot.

Iro, have you played Blaze Black 2 or Volt White 2? They're fan ROM hacks and the gym leader difficulties have been ramped up something fierce.

I played the original Blaze Black, but I got bored of it about halfway through. While the difficulty was upped in that game, the creator took away from the difficulty by giving you really OP Pokemon really early in the game.

Welcome to Reborn, where the gyms are tough and the members are awsome.

Also if you have a Kricketune just spam Fury Cutter and Florinia shoudn't be as tough (unless you miss). In my second playthrough of this, my Kricketune destroyed half her team and almost OHKO Cradily which was enough to let me take everything else with Magby.

Prinny Manes, reporting for greeting duty, dood! -salute-

The game also drew me right in here. I've had fun here, too, even though I'm not playing Reborn itself at the moment. (Spritesets are hard, dood!) Florinia didn't give me a lot of trouble with Hariyama in tow. (Was he a Hariyama, though? Oh yeah, he wasn't.)

I'll get back on the horse later. Dood.
