The Host beamed over the crowd of guests filling his parents' living room. Everything was going perfectly. There was a sudden gasp, and everyone turned in unison. There, at the end of the snack table, lay a single pizza box. With pineapple. This would not stand. "Attention, everyone," the Host declared over the crowd. Everyone turned to him, silent. "Someone tried to sneak this abomination into my party to crash it! We must hunt down this villain and bring them to justice! Until then, nobody leaves this house!" The crowd roared in response. A box this big couldn't have been sneaked into the house so easily... perhaps there was more than one perpetrator at hand! The Host's eyes flicked about the room, looking for suspicious faces. His investigation was cut short by the lights flickering out... It was going to be a looong night. What is Mafia? Reveal hidden contents Mafia is a social deduction game which requires analyzing, cooperation, and looking through lies. There are two main factions in a mafia game: the Uninformed Majority [Town], who have to find others of their kind while hunting for the mafia, and the Informed Minority [Mafia], who have a private chat and plan there on how they should trick the town and whom they should kill. At the beginning of the game, players receive a PM or a DM (in some cases) with their role and alignment. There are two major phases in a Mafia game: (1) The Day Phase – Typically lasting 48 hours , players use this opportunity to discuss about several things, which may include the outcome of the previous phases, behavior of players, and flow of the game; the ultimate goal in the day phase is for the Town players to find the Mafia slowly while Mafia players have to blend in carefully. Before the day ends, players must vote for a player whom they want to be eliminated on grounds of suspicion and the player receiving the most votes will be eliminated. (Or in this case, executed.) (2) The Night Phase – Typically lasting 24 hours, the thread is considered “locked” at this point and players may not comment at all. Instead, players with night actions, special abilities related to their role, may use these to aid their faction. The Mafia also discusses in the private chat on whom to dispose of. The game continues until one of the major factions attains their win condition or unless it is no longer possible. Obligatory Rules Reveal hidden contents (1) The Reborn Forum rules apply here. (2) All Player Discussion must be kept in the thread; mandated special private chats may also be utilized. Other forms of contact outside of these such as Private Chats without the Host’s permission, IRL contact, and other methods are not allowed. (3) Day Phase lasts for 48 hours. Players must make at least 2 posts and vote per day phase. Failure to meet this requirement for two day phases (even non consecutive) will result in replacement or mod intervention. (4) Voting is done in the format: [Execute] Player Name or in similar formats. Changing of votes may be done in this format: [Unvote] Player Name. All votes must be placed in bold or they are not counted. In the case of a tie in votes, both persons will be lynched. (5) Night Phase lasts for 24 hours. Players are not allowed to comment in the thread. Violation of this rule will result in warning (1st offence) and disqualification (2nd offence). (6) Sharing of Role PMs – through screenshots, verbatim copying, or other forms – to other players is illegal. Consequences will be given to violators. (7) Actions – day or night – should be sent to me via PM (Forums) or DM (Discord). (8) Editing of posts is discouraged. If you have minor corrections, you may do so, but if you wish to have additions, you must make a new post or quote your previous post if you wish to highlight the addition. (9) Respect the host and other players! Town Roles: Reveal hidden contents Appraiser You may visit any player (including yourself) and learn if they have a real or fake Gun. Bomb When you are killed at Night, every Player who visits you that Night is killed as well. Bulletproof You start the game with a Vest. Vests protect against a single killing action against you, except Lynching. Cop You may visit another player and learn their alignment. Doctor You may visit another player and prevent them from being killed this Night. Driver You may select any 2 players. Any actions performed against those players are swapped this Night. Drunk You may visit and block another player’s action this Night. Jailer You may visit and block another player’s action this Night. That player cannot be visited or killed that Night. Leader When you die at any point in the game, voting is performed anonymously the following Day. Loudmouth Reveals all Players that visited you the previous Night, unless you are killed. Stalker You may visit another player and see who they visit this Night. Supplier You may visit another player and give them a Gun. Templar (x2) Both Templar share a private chat with each other. Vigilante You may visit another player and kill them. Watcher You may visit any player (including yourself) and learn who visits them this Night. Vanilla Townie You have no Night Action! This role usually only appears if there are more players than roles. Mafia Roles: Reveal hidden contents Actress You may visit a player and learn their role. When you die, you are revealed as the role you last visited. Coyote You may choose any player and any role in the game. If you correctly guess that player’s role, they are killed, and you gain immunity to being killed for the rest of the Night and the following Day. You do not attend Mafia Chat. Fabricator You may visit another player and give them a Fake Gun. Saboteur You may visit any player (including yourself). If that player has a Gun, it becomes a Fake Gun. Strongman Once per game, if you perform the Mafia’s night kill, you may become immune to roleblocking, and your target cannot be protected. Tailor You may visit another player and give them a Suit, and name any role in the game. When a Suited player dies, their role will be declared as the Suited Role instead of their own. Your target does not know if they receive a Suit. Special Rules: Reveal hidden contents Town wins when all threats to the Town are eliminated. OR If 2 consecutive Day / Night periods pass without a single death, then Town will win at the beginning of the following Day. This means 2 Days without Lynches and 2 Nights without killings. Mafia wins when they make up at least 50% of the remaining population. There are no Third Parties! If there is a tie in votes, neither player will get Lynched. Sign-up below, or else.
