Y'all know the drill of FEF by now, but here's the twistof this one. Exlink and I are going to run the FEF equivalent of Fire Emblem Fates. Here's how it's going to work. We're going to take 10 players total (we might expand this number if we really need to.) 5 players will be playing in Fire Emblem: Excalibur Glacius run by me which will follow the adventures of Princess Rosanne Pendragon in her efforts to stabilise the country after the death of her father. And the other 5 will be playing in Fire Emblem: Excalibur Infernus run by Ex, which will follow the adventures of Nicolos attempting to end the Pendragon monarchy and take rule into the hands of the people. We will be running a PvE maps and PvP maps in sequece. So every other map will be PvP. These PvP maps will have story consequences in ultimately deciding the future of the land of Tameloc. I'd like to ask a level of maturity from the players, PvP in FEF is probably imbalanced. Ex and I will do our best to make things fair both sides, but please never take it out on us or your fellow players. All of us want to have fun while crafting a cool story so please never take the PvP aspect too seriously. We will be using the 2.1 ruleset, and might update to newer versions as they come out. When you are submitting a character, you are allowed to create two different backgrounds to fit either side of the story. In the end, we'll pick based on character quality and no class necessity. There will be NPCs filling in for any support classes that are missing, so do not play a healer/performer/thief because you think it's needed. Play what you want. Also please send the character sheet to both me and Ex either through discord or the Reborn forums. Along with your character sheet, we'd like a backstory and the reason they are joining the particular side you want. Again, if you'd like you can send in two different backstories to join either of the sides. We are completely willing to weave your character into the narrative so please talk to us to find a place for your character in the world we have created! The people of Tameloc do not know how the world was created, as when their written history begins the dragons and faeries have long existed before them. And these dragons and faeries don't know how the world began either. The humans at first warred with the dragons, as the dragons didn't find them worthy of sharing their lands. Until one man united the humans, and showed the true potential of man to the dragons. The dragons respected the humans for it, and gave them the Fire Emblem. A magical object powered by their own light magic that can grant great power to anyone as worthy to rule as the first human King. This King was given the name Pendragon, and his lineage has ruled Tameloc for a millennium and a half. However darkness has befallen the kingdom in the last century. King Roswell, a greedy and selfish man took the throne. He lead the kingdom into despair, ignoring the needs of it's citizens and the troubles. Six great heroes who served the realm, The Knights Of The Round Table were the only thing saving the kingdom from being overrun by the cursed forces to the East. Nobles and commoners despised him, and so the leader of the Knights confronted the King. And payed with his life. Arthur was publicly executed for treason, an action that lead to the disbanding of the Knights Of The Round Table. A few weeks after Arthur's execution, King Roswell was slain as well. By his daughter, Princess Rosanne Pendragon. She declared herself Queen, but the people protested, claiming that she only killed her father to gain power herself. And so, on the Sixth of the month of First Heat, she asked Merlin the great wizard councillor of the King for help. In front of all the citizens of the capital, she stood in front of the Fire Emblem. As she grasped at the object it glowed with a blue light, and from it's center gem came a rapier, with a golden hilt and encrusted with gems. The Fire Emblem had deemed her worthy. "People of Tameloc, this blade proves my claim to throne. The throne is mine by birthright, and yet the Fire Emblem given to us by the dragons has chosen me. I carry the same blood as my father, but I am nothing like him. I will restore this country to glory, I swear to protect it's lands and it's people. I swear to be a right and just Queen. After all, every man and woman in this country hated the King and yet I was the only one brave enough to strike him down. If that alone isn't proof, than this blade, Excalibur Glacius, is the proof that I am your Queen." Rosanne's speech was met with applause and cheering, until a man ran up into the castle walls from where Rosanne stood. He threw away every guard that intercepted him with trained moves. Most, if not all present recognised him. He was Nicolos, a man who had recently become as famous as the Knights of the Round Table for his heroism. A known ex-bandit turned hero, he served the people often clashing with the direct servants of the crown. He stood before the Princess and all her people, and declared. "Being worthy and being wanted are not the same thing, Princess. Your lineage has long torn this country to the ground, your father was just the worst of it. You let the people starve and fight off the Cursed, while you are safe here in the Capital, far from all our problems. I know I don't speak just for myself when I say: you are no Queen of mine. This country needs someone new, someone that will care for the people." The Fire Emblem, in reaction to Nicolos speech began glowing. A flash of red blinded the crowd, and when all eyes were clear a large blade appeared in his grasp. A beautiful golden blade, gleaming down to the hilt. The pommel adorned with a ruby and the hilt wrapped in dark leather. Nicolos grinned, maybe if he wasn't in front of everyone he would break out into laughter. "And it seems the Fire Emblem agrees. People of Tameloc, it seems that you finally have a choice. SHE and her corrupted bloodline are not your only choice. This sword, Excalibur Infernus, proves my worthiness as King just as much as the Princess'. I represent change, I represent a way out for the common people and an end to the games played by nobles and the royalty alike." Shortly after, the two fought. On top of the castle walls, they dueled unleashing the full power of their respective weapons. It ended with both the Princess and the new King-to-be heavily wounded. And as the castle guards recovered and came to Rosanne's aid, Merlin's Apprentice Vivianne intervened. With a flash of magic, she teleported away with Nicolos. It's been about a month since the event, and the Kingdom is divided. People brawl on the streets openly, as claiming either Rosanne or Nicolos as ruler is enough to spark debate. Nicolos and his ally Vivianne escaped South East into the Marshlands where Bernard Moss, the Lord of the Marshlands backs his claim and houses him. Rosanne can not attack directly, as House Moss holds incredible armies and is tasked with protecting the border from the Cursed Forces, an absolutely vital task. During this month both Nicolos and Rosanne have gathered trusted allies and both are ready to make their move. To make matters worse, scouting forces from the faraway Island Empire of Tsukiochi are landing on the coast of Tameloc. They surely mean to take advantage of the civil war. It is time for the people to make a choice. Will they side with Princess Rosanne, or the Hero Nicolos. Setting Information! The Races Of Tameloc And The Origins Of Magic Reveal hidden contents Humans are the most populous of all the races in Tameloc. For an in depth description of humans please look in a mirror. Dragons are immortal and ancient creatures. They are four legged and winged reptiles ranging from the size of a horse, to the largest being the size of castles. They are the creators of Light Magic and they are the ones who taught it to the humans. Dragons are proud, and judgemental. They have gone to war several times with the humans and the faeries, to test if they are truly worthy. As allies, they are friendly and trustworthy. A dragon's friend is for life and they would gladly cross any distance to aid a friend. After the first Pendragon proved the worth of humans, they coexisted with humanity for years to come until the discovery of Dark Magic. This started a new war, which ended with dragons taking the Isle of Avalon, and a large portion of the Western coast for themselves. The only way to truly kill a dragon is by dealing the final blow with dark magic. Otherwise, their wounds simply heal forever. They are ruled by King Bahamut, who remains unchallenged on his throne. He will travel to the human lands every few centuries to choose a human mate, and produce an heir to represent the dragons in human affairs. Half-Dragons or sometimes called Dragonborn are the result of the mating of a human and a dragon. Using their magic, dragons are able to shape shift into a humanoid form and have married humans in the past. The result, is Dragonborn. They are human looking with much longer lifespans going into the 300s. They have unusual eye colors and pupils looking much more like a lizard's eyes and often colored red/yellow. Sometimes they have scales along their body and face. A half-dragon doesn't have to have a parent be a dragon, as dragonblood can re-emerge several generations back. When insulted, humans tend to call them half-blood, lizard, gecko, and other animal names to deem them nothing more than beasts. Faeries are immortal and ancient creatures. They are small humanoids, about the size of a humanoid's palm and with insect wings (sometimes butterfly wings, dragonfly wings, bee wings, it changes depending on the family of faerie). They are deeply connected to nature and command great power with their Anima Magic which they have taught to humans long ago. Faeries are pranksters. A forrest inhabited by the Fey takes on a life of it's own, the trees move, the animals are strange, and there is always a feeling of being watched. They will often shape shift and go into humans lands to stir trouble. However, they are friendly and will sometimes help lost travelers or people in need. However, never fully trust a faerie. Their deals are often too good to be true. Since the discovery of Dark Magic, they have become fearful of humans. A faerie can only be killed with dark magic, as any other form of damage makes them disappear in a puff of petals and leaves, and reappear somewhere else. They are ruled by a Queen Faerie that has never shown herself to humans. Half-Faeries or sometimes called Wildfolk are the result of mating between a Faerie and a human and sometimes, the prank of a faerie. They are human looking, a little shorter on average than most. Their most defining feature are unusual hair colors and eye colors. Heterocromia is almost the norm with the Wildfolk. They also can have strange glowing markings around their torso, legs, arms and even sometimes face. They have a great aptitude for magic than regular humans. The Cursed are the final race of Tameloc and the result of practicing dark magic. Dark Magic was discovered around a millennium ago by a wizard who's name was burned from history. Upon the discovery of this power, the wizard unleashed a terrible curse upon the world. This curse grants the person the ability to cast Dark Magic, but changes them both physically and mentally. The Cursed affects everyone differently, but they will each have a very defining and obvious characteristic. Sometimes it's animal ears and tails, and sometimes demonic horns, sometimes extra arms and fanged teeth. As the person falls deeper into the curse, these characteristics become more pronounced until they become something that can no longer be considered human. The curse also changes how the person thinks. They slowly become more violent, and start to despise the other races. Eventually if they feed into the curse they become violent and attack anything that isn't cursed, wanting nothing more than to spread the affliction. Once someone falls completely to the curse they stop ageing and will not die of natural causes. However, several cursed are able to live normal lives and can even have families of normal humans. Some have found that discipline in practicing dark magic can help them control the curse while other have completely sworn off dark magic and control it that way. However, both methods have failed with individuals, and anyone who is found falling deep into the curse is immediately shipped to the Curselands. The curse can be passed on from wounds caused by a Cursed individual. Either from a direct bite, scratch, or their dark magic. Some people are naturally immune to the curse and ingestion of immune individual's blood can be used as a cure if administered 24 hours after the cursed wound's infliction. After this 24 hour window, there is no cure for the Curse Dark Magic was outlawed until a century ago where people started demanding that sane Cursed be allowed to live within the country. A bit afterwards, Merlin became the first mage to fully master Dark Magic without suffering the effects of the curse. Note: All Dark Mages are Cursed, but not all Cursed are Dark Mages. If you want to play this race don't worry about choosing a class with dark magic. The Lands of Tameloc And Her People Reveal hidden contents -New Avalon the capital of Tameloc and it’s surrounding area known as the Crownlandslocated to the South West ruled by the Royal Family Pendragon is the largest city in Tameloc. The Crownlands in general are the most populous of all the lands, carrying a wide range of people. Wyverns inhabit these lands, migrating from the Drakelands and they are tamed and sold. They have the second largest army of professional soldiers, although they aren’t battle ready due to not seeing conflict very often. They guard the border to the dragons, but they very rarely attack and if they do it's isolated cases. -Fairgarden the capital of the lands known as the Winelands located to the North East ruled jointly by House Moore, House Bridges and House Harvest is the second largest city in Tameloc. It’s a bright and prosperous city, made up mostly of higher class citizens. Several guilds and colleges exist in the city, and just about every kind of entertainment for those who have the coin. Outside the city, the Winelands are the most populous of the states. Several villages ruled by lower lords manage the fields and produce a very large percentage of Tameloc’s crops. However, regardless of how populous or rich the Winelands are, the Houses don’t have a real army. They have a militia made up of commoners, and a handful of knight serving individual lords but the bulk of the guard and army are made of foreign mercenaries. Greatwood was located in the Winelands, a Noble getaway. However, it was sacked and burned to the ground by a bandit group which Nicolos was involved with. The people of the Winelands have a violent xenophobia for Cursed, Half-Dragons and Half-Faerie. House Moore are an ancient family of rich nobles dating as far back as the discovery of the Dark Magics. They have always been loyal to the crown. House Bridges is a merchant house, caring about little more than money. They are secretive, but have their dealings in almost every major business in the Kingdom.House Harvest is a fairly new house, upstarted from common farmers due to their service to the crown three generations ago. Their allegiance is with the people, and they commonly bump heads with House Moore. -Nimue capital of the lands known as Magelands located to the North West ruled by The Council Of Nimue is a city famous for it’s mage college. It’s founder Nimue was the first Queen having been deemed worthy by the Fire Emblem. Her mastery of magic has never been surpassed, although people say that Merlin is close to reaching her level. Nimue founded the city close to her death, in order to pass down her knowledge of Dragonic and Fae magic so that humanity could continue to learn. The college is also used to store magical artifacts and texts. Rulership of the surrounding lands of Nimue have long been given to the Council of Nimue, the six strongest mages at any given time. Merlin has refused a seat on the council since he is instead the King’s Advisor. In general, even the Mageland’s commoners know a little bit of magic. Half-faerie people are very common due to the proximity of the wild lands and their tendency for tricks, and Cursed individual aren’t unusual either, often times being students of the college. The people of the Magelands have mage militias, and in general can organize very large forces of mages when and if the times calls for it. -Candlelight the capital of the lands known as the Marshlands located to the South East ruled by House Moss is the smallest of the four great cities, but has the largest and most well trained army thanks to it’s duty of protecting against the Cursed. The Marshlands are swampy, with gigantic trees that completely block out the sun in some parts of it. The people in general are serious and grumpy, often being a trait mocked by inhabitants of other parts of Tameloc. They are one of the more accepting regions when it comes to the Cursed, but don’t hesitate to send them to Gloomlight once they’ve been corrupted too much. It’s not unusual to find Cursed in the armies of House Moss, or serving as guards for Candlelight. Their main exports are leather work, wood, exotic pelts (aligators, lynxes, and other wetland animals) and medicinal herbs.The Head of House Moss is Bernard Moss a hardened military leader who openly supports Nicolos’ claim. -The Curselands have a single village near the border of the least afflicted cursed known as Gloomlight. The more sane Cursed slowly bring the more heavily afflicted deeper into the peninsula. They are also charged with warning the nearby city of Candlelight of a Cursed uprising. In exchange for these services, Gloomlight is well supplied and fed. -The Wildlands have no major locations, as faeries are completely nomadic. The court is wherever the Queen and her attendants see fit to stay. The whole territory is a vast wood, that seems to be alive on it’s own. The trees shift and change places when no one is looking, and the animals are of unusual colors. It’s rare to see a faerie out in the open, even deep into the Wildlands but their presence is always felt. -Isle of Avalon the Island to the West, it is the seat of the dragons and the “capital” of the Drakelands. This was the original capital of Tameloc but it was taken by the dragons after dark magic was discovered, which has since been adapted by the dragons for their own use. In general the Drakelands are filled with old human ruins that the dragons now use for themselves. The land is mostly plains and mountains, with few forests. A Short Timeline Of Important Events Reveal hidden contents Year 0- The first Pendragon is recognized by the Fire Emblem and the Dragons. Year 500- Dark Magic is created. Nimue Pendragon founds the city of Nimue in the same year, as well as outlaws the practice of Dark Magic. Year 1519- The Greatwood Massacre happens. The Greatwood Massacre was a bandit raid of the city. There were a great number of civilian casualties, and almost all of the current Round Table Knights were there rescuing civilians. It is somewhat public knowledge that Nicolos was involved with the bandits responsible for the attack. Year 1527- Arthur is executed, Rosanne kills King Roswell, Princess Rosanne and Nicolos are chosen by the Fire Emblem, story begins. (Will be expanded as events are revealed) Important Peoples of Tameloc Reveal hidden contents The Knights Of The Round Table, And Their Accomplishments Arthur The Great is very much everything a knight should aspire to be. He was born a soldier's son, and from a young age trained himself up to be like his father. Most people know, that at the young age of 15 the young Arthur protected his small village of Lightmill alone from a bandit group. From there, he went on to squire for Lancelot The Black at the recommendation of Merlin. While as a squire he was paramount in the defense of Gloomlight in the 23rd March Of The Cursed Forces. After he was knighted, he created the Knights Of The Round Table in order to serve the realm and find others who would do the same. His help was critical in the rescue of several innocent people during the Greatwood Massacre. He was executed by King Roswell's order, in the year 1527. Lancelot The Black the second in command, and an enigmatic figure. He is from unknown origins, but has been a soldier in the Crownland armies for years now. He was knighted after an exemplary performance in a rogue dragon invasion, having slain two dragons all by himself. He took Arthur The Great as his squire at Merlin's request. Exemplary performance during the defense of Gloomlight in the 23rd March Of The Cursed Forces. The first knight to be chosen as part of the Knights Of The Round Table. No one has seen his face, as he never takes off his helmet but he is suspected to be Cursed due to his strange powers. He has a knack for appearing only when he is most needed. Whereabouts completely unknown. Alexander The Dragon Prince is the half-dragon son of Bahamut The Dragon King. He is almost two centuries old, being the latest offspring of Bahamut and a representative of the dragons. He has been involved in several Cursed attacks, and is famed for single handedly ending the bandit group "The Axe Brotherhood". His steed, Uther, is a larger than normal green wyvern with six horns coming out from it's head. It's said that Alexander is able to speak to wyverns. It's said that he left for the Drakelands after the death of Arthur. Titania The Graceful a Wildfolk lady knight, hailing from the Magelands and a stout defender of the people. Her stories always include an element of romance, since the only thing more famous than her skill in combat is the string of lovers she leaves behind wherever she travels. Her steed named Oberon is a mighty stallion with unusual markings. Titania claims that she found the beast in the Wildlands. As well as being present at the Greatwood Massacre, she is known for rescuing a mage of the Council of Nimue being held ransom. It's said that her and Alexander often clash in ideals, and have dueled in public numerous times. Current whereabouts unknown, but a woman matching her description has been seen in the Magelands. Lilac The Thief a notorious burglar in the Winelands, Lilac's crimes were pardoned by Arthur The Great after her aid in bringing down the Wineland's Butcher a serial killer on the loose at the time. After this, Lilac was called in several times for help in tracking and infiltration and while she was never knighted she very much is a part of the Knights Of The Round Table. Her knowledge of Greatwood's rooftops became integral to the rescue of several people during the Greatwood Massacre. Nobles give her the title "The Thief" but she wears it with pride, and has very much adopted it. After Arthur's death, she disappeared completely. However rumors say that she is somehow involved with a criminal organization that has surfaced in the past month, known as the Thieve's Guild. Kimberly The Silent daughter of House Harvest, she is the youngest knight in recorded history, having been knighted at 14 and entering the Knights Of The Round Table in the same year. Her skill with the bow is miraculous, people say that she could shoot a the flea off of a faerie's hair and leave the faerie unharmed. Because of her youth, she hasn't had great accomplishments yet other than archery competitions. She is known as "The Silent" for her cold and uncaring demeanor. After Arthur's death, she returned home to the Winelands. Merlin The Arch Wizard Merlin was born in the Magelands, to two Nimue Council Members. It's to be expected that he would grow up to become a great wizard. It's said that he refused human teachers, instead traveling to the Drakelands to learn Light Magic directly from King Bahamut himself, and studying deep in the Wildland's forests to discover how the Fey bend nature. Finally, after mastering the other two schools he performed a ritual to gain Dark Magic. He came out un-harmed, without a trace of the curse and still able to practice Dark Magic. He claims to not fully understand how he mastered it, but suspects the key is within his deep understanding of the other two schools of magic. At the request of the then young King Roswell, he served as his Court Wizard until the end of his reign. He now supports Rosanne's claim to the throne. It's said that he was the one that found Arthur, and saw great potential in him. Vivanne is one of Merlin's many apprentices, and one of the most successful. She is eccentric, and shares a love for Merlin's method of studying. But while Merlin cares about the origin of magic, Vivianne studies how humans have perfected and changed it from it's origin. She isn't a competent spell caster, but she is very knowledgeable on it. However, it's common knowledge that she has had several arguments with her master.
