I'm your host, Prince Candy, and we're about to get all the juicy scoop on the tributes. So buckle up, my friends, as we will get some interesting information First off, let's get the statistics out of the way. We have (so far) 27 tributes participating in this year's Games, and would you believe that all of them have volunteered to participate? This is a historical first ever event! We can expect great things from these tributes who have volunteered to showcase their mad combat skills. In fact, some of them have already started showcasing some of their skills in the Training Center (please take a moment to join the Discord server, if you haven't done so yet: https://discord.gg/SEzJKgJ (that's mostly @Alaris, @Jace Stormkirk and @NickCrash), as we saw last week. Now, let's head on to the Interview sessions (warning: quotes are from the #pre-game-chat, taken mostly out of context). The first tribute to be interviewed is GenEric! Please welcome him with a warm applause~ *Applause, Eric enters stage* Hello Eric, how are you doing on this fine evening? Are you excited to start the Hunger Games tomorrow? "yeah i want to see yall kill each other" Haha, I think you mean the tributes. "can i be the guy who gets stung by bee and f*cking dies" (bleeped for TV) Uhhh, sure but we hope you'll try to survive before you do. We prefer to see combat between tributes, which is more interesting than dying from the mechanics of the arena. Well, ehm let's interview our next tribute, shall we? The next is Nicki, please welcome her with a warm applause~ *Applause, Nicki enters stage* Hi there, Nicki, how are you doing? "I'm ok how are you" I'm doing sweet, thanks for asking So do you care to tell us about any skills you've been working on in preparation for the Games? Don't spoil anything you don't want spoiled, because you know, this juicy info is broadcasted to all edges of the Reborn region! "I'm going to get back into horse riding, Candy" Okay, well I'm not sure if there will be horses in the arena, but you'll definitely have an advantage if they do "omg I forgot to take the mask off" *runs off the stage* Hmmm well I was also wondering what was the stuff on her face. Turns out it wasn't part of the aesthetic design *Interviews continue in this fashion* Now, for the last pair of tributes. Please welcome Yahen and Yahy, brothers who have chosen to come test their survival skills! *Applause, Yahen and Yahy enter stage* Hello, how are you doing? "I'm hungry now" Fair stuff, you're the last tributes so you must be tired of waiting. There should be a banquet waiting for you after this though! So you two are brothers volunteering for the same Hunger Games. On the arena, you'll be enemies. Are you not afraid that your brotherly bond will be an obstacle in winning the games? "Apparently, no" You sure about that? I mean, what would you do if Yahy pinned you down and had a knife pinned on your face? "I would bite half of it without thinking twice" !? !? *wipes sweat* Well, we have someone with the hardest teeth in all of Reborn sitting right here, it seems! Do you have anything to add to that, Yahy? "candy gotta live the vida loka" And here I thought I was already living the vida loka wearing a crown made of crystal lollipops That concludes our show for tonight! We're all impatient for the crack of dawn, when the tributes will run with every gram of energy in their body, either towards the Cornucopia to fight bravely for what may be their life-saving items, or away from the site of massacre to find what might be life-saving refuge. Candy Posted April 14, 2019 Author Share Posted April 14, 2019 Finally, the time has come! The tributes are all standing on their stands, in an arch that meets at the common point of the Cornucopia. The horn-shaped haven of items is stocked full, as per usual. Aaaand the countdown has begun My heart is racing, Veronica! 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... There they go It seems most of them are headed to the Cornucopia. There's way too much movement on screen, so we can't focus on any one tribute... but the computer counts that there are 21 tributes headed to the Cornucopia, while the rest has taken a turn to run in the opposite direction without risking it. Perhaps a wise choice to make, for the bloodbath holds much promise to being one bloody business! Speaking of bloodbath, look, the fastest runners have made it to the Cornucopia Some are taking stuff and just leaving, but a few seem to be planning to hoard all of the stuff. They've started engaging the arriving tributes in a fight to protect their items. Veronica, can you zoom in on the brawl on the left? It seems like many tributes are fighting! The radar says that six tributes have circled a single tribute. From what little we can see, it appears that the six tributes are trying to punch and kick the one to death John, can you try to zoom in on the tribute in the center? *Cannon shot is heard in the distance* I guess it's too late. The first tribute has fallen! Bok Choi has fallen! They were [Sticky Creamy Maple Syrup]! Oof, well the battle was definitely an uphill one. Six strong ones against one is pretty much a hopeless case. Can you now check out the two tributes to the left fighting over an AK-47? Sure thing. Oh, I remember one of those tributes One is Yahen, the one who could bite off a blade with his teeth! Oops, the other tributes who killed Bok Choi have joined their struggle now. One of them has a blade! *Cannon shot is heard in the distance...* That was a bit... anticlimactic. Yeah. Ironic that he got stabbed on the back by a knife he could've bitten off had the attack come from the front side. Yahen has fallen! They were [Insert Nickname Here]! One question, though. Did you happen to capture the movements of our favorite couple, Veronica? I'm sure many of the citizens in the Capitol would love to get an update on them now that they're in the Arena Well, with all the adrenaline on the screen, we couldn't get a clear shot of anyone. However, my radar tells me that they are still on the move. They are in separate areas of the Arena, not too far from each other but not close either Bummer. I hope they will be reunited again soon. I'm sure I speak for the majority when I say that we'd like to see more of their blossoming young romance. At least capture a kiss or two, okay? My colleague, Veronica, and her team of reporters have been busy at work recording the tributes from every angle possible. I think this is time for a recopilation of some memorable moments so far in this Hunger Games!
