GenshiD
I red once someone who beated him with a leach seed prankster cotonee and a endeavor rattata with focus band....XD But really, its hard, because it is suposed to be a scripted loss....But I think Ame added some diferent lines in case you beat it in epi 9 XD
Ussi
method one: Burn/leech seed/poison/curse garchomp then hope you can get a focus band live > endeavor (FEAR) off method two: burn/leech seed/poison/curse and spam sturdy + fake out + protect and have tons of brightpowders as two of his moves are fairly inaccurate that he dies from passive damage
Ousawa
Method three: Lower att, and bide with swampert
ShatteredSkys
Method 4: keep switching in intimadate users like arcanine or gyradoes until it has -6 atk than set up on it or spam X items till poke gets the boosts it needs to kill that thing. JayDo
Can anyone confirm if the script has been changed to include a win option? Would like to know for my second play through.
ChocolateChip
I beat it with leech seed and my Seismitoad's Muddy Water xD It got it's accuracy sooo low that it was missing 95% of it's attacks and my team did the rest of the damage from there. I was sad that the script said I lost though v.v But if it's changed that'd be awesome. Don't know if I'd beat it again though without leech seed and Serperior. Administrators Amethyst Posted August 1, 2013 Administrators Share Posted August 1, 2013 I did change the dialogue slightly again, but it's nothing major still. because the game already was keeping track of who won and who didn't for later... benks
I have a strategy of using my magnezone with the ability sturdy to hang on with 1 hp, use one of his attacks called mirror shot which can lower the garchomp's accuracy, then I switch into my gyarados, which intimidates the garchomp, lowering its atk. When I switch, he goes for earthquake 95% of the time which doesn't affect gyarados. After that I heal my magnezone with a hyper potion and allow for the garchomp to attack. Strangely enough, the garchomp continuously uses fire fangs on my gyarados, which barely affects him, while I use ice fangs on the garchomp to deal massive damage. Once my gyarados is out, I switch back into magnezone and continue to lower the garchomp's accuracy. When magnezone is back at 1 hp, I switch into togekiss, who is unaffected by earthquake, which gives me time to heal up my magnezone with another hyper potion. The garchomp's accuracy is usually low at this point and starts missing more frequently. At this point I decide to use sweet kiss and confuse the garchomp. Even if the garchomp isn't hurt from its confusion, it has already had a large portion of its accuracy drained. Now, if the garchomp continues to miss, I hit the garchomp with shadow balls, which will sometimes lower its special defense. Everytime though, garchomp eventually breaks through and finishes off my togekiss. After this I send my magnezone back in and use the same strategy. Next, I switch out my magnezone for charizard, who is usually either hit by fire fang which does basically nothing or is unaffected by earthquake, giving me time to heal my magnezone with my final hyper potion. After charizard is taken out by the garchomp, the garchomp has barely any moves left when I switch back into magnezone and continue to decrease its accuracy. Once my magnezone is at its final hp I try to get in another hit hoping the garchomp isn't able to hit me first. When my magnezone goes down, I send in my tangrowth to poison the garchomp and slowly chip away at its health with giga drains.Once tangrowth is taken out, I switch into my final hope-Primeape. Having hopefully lowered its accuracy 3 or 4 stages, I try to get a swagger on the garchomp and confuse it. Swagger will also raise the garchomps attack which can be bad sometimes. But most of the time the garchomp is hurt from confusion greatly, allowing me to attack the garchomp with seismic toss's. One time, I actually had the garchomp struggling, which actually defeated my primeape. Hope my strategy can possibly help some of you! Uhm Garchomp has stone edge. why would it use bad moves on a gyarados?
benks
That is why I said strangely enough-I found it to be very odd as well. Also, if you are wondering why he would use earthquake to begin with, it is because it is a move that is super effective against magnezone. Garchomp is very tough, but I am sure we will beat him. Zetaark
I managed to use my Gigalith's mud slap to lower accuracy a few stages, then linoone with sand attack. Then I used perish song with kricketune for the win. Tense the whole match.
ThBe
Haven't reached there, so I feel like I have to ask: Is it his only pokemon?
Kev
Yes it is and its hard enough by itself.
notnotjohn
I used a stun spore and leech seed cottenee then mr mime with reflect and proceeded to set up with curse torterra, and luck was on my side as rain was going so his fire fangs did nothing aha
Ousawa
I don't believe 80% of you guys. Garchomp outspeeds and 1HKO's your pokemon....
Saphy
I was never able to beat it because my team was just too weak. I did managed to get him down like more than a half of his life! Got him confused with my Mightyena's Swagger & he was also burned status thanks to my Charizard. But he used full restore!! So there was no way I could beat him even if I tried many times, I figured he would just full restored all day long. So i decided to just take defeat FOR NOW! I'm desperate on getting my revenge though! I wanna destroy him now. Just few more levels.
stan4life
i just equipped al my pokemon with brightpowder and started the fight with 2 sand attack or mud slap users (zigzagoon and flygon), you can ussually lower his attack 4-5 times and if you're lucky all the way down, then use a ghost pokemon with curse (dusclops) and he will eventually die, i used gyaridos with ice fang to speed up his death. Leech seed can be used instead off curse and pokemon with sturdy help too. attacks like paralyze and sleep are ussually a waste because he uses full restores and your pokemon will be death before they can use it again, but can be helpfull to lower accuracy more or get in some extra damage with curse/leech seed without taking damage. I beat him in episode 8 so i haven't seen the script change.
benks
Finally I beat the garchomp. I lowered its accuracy down 5 stages with magnezone's mirror shot and then used shadow balls and flash cannons to lower it special defense. I also was able to paralyze it with my tangrowth. After he used 3 full restores, I was still able to finish him off with my magnezone, because it wasn't able to hit magnezone, due to its low accuracy. I too defeated him in episode 8, so the samething happened to me. Edited August 13, 2013 by benks
ThBe
Yes it is and its hard enough by itself. Then, a Kricketune w/ Perish Song+Focus Band and BAM!
Black Flame
I used Curse with Duskull after he missed his Stone Edge, got 25%-6.25% off = 18.75%, then he killed me for 37.5%, then I switched in to a Sturdy Geodude and he hit me twice for 75%, and I switched into Venasaur & hit him with Leech Seed as it recovered with Full Restore. After this I just abused my 2nd Sturdy Geodude & a mixture of Potions & Super Potions to keep my health at maximum & weak Smack Downs to accelerate his use of Full Restores. Mission successful. GenshiD
Ha....haha.....AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! AT LAST! BUAHAHAAHHAA! Take that!!! SCRIPTED LOSS MY ASS... For those who never won, this is what happens when you do... How did I succeed you ask? Well,I required 1 Intimidating Gyarados, 3 fodder (i used my infernape, scrafty and alakazam, but if you have other pokemon with intimidate, it would speed up the process), 1 Sturdy Magnezone with Metal Sound and Mirror Shot, and My dear Flygon with Dragonbreath (my Flygon is Modest, so it has higher Sp.Atk than Atk)..... 1st step, Lead with Gyarados and switch it to fodder (-1atk, -2 if fodder also has intimidate) 2nd step, Lets fodder die, and switch back to Gyarados (-2atk, -3) 3rd Step, Repeat until all fodder are dead 4th Step, Atack with all you got (My gyarados had Ice fang, so i was lucky enough to get a freeze, thus Solaris wasted a Full restore there) 5th Step, When Gyarados falls, Send Magnezone 6th Step This is a tough choice, either spam Mirror Shot to lower accuracy (once I had him at -3, when I won he was at -1) or strat off lowering its Sp.Def with Metal Sound..This is really a tough decision, due to fire fang and earthquake.... 7th Step, Hopefully you manage at least 2 hits on him ( I had him at -1 acuracy and -4 Sp.Def)..Send Flygon 8th Step, Spam Dragonbreath, hoping for paralisis (forcing his full restores early), and after all 3 F.Restores, hope for criticals (scope lens may help) 9th Step, HOPE TO GOD he misses all Dragon Rushes, its a 1HKO to ANY flygon ( Mine was at lvl 45 as seen above) or that he is dumb enough to keep spamming Fire Fangs, like he did to me 10th step .... 11th Step- PROFIT! 12th Step- Wonder why a 30 levels above you Garchomp only gives about 600 and so experience Edit: Had to delete my atatchments Edited September 17, 2014 by GenshiD
Bear
Did it a while back but my team was set. Chucked in Dual Intimidate users (Arcanine & Gyrados) and used my non key pokes as death fodder tll he got to -6 and proceeded to destroy with my curse Torterra. Ice/Fire fang really didn't do much at -6....Normally I am attentive to the dialogue but it didn't even register to me that i was supposed to lose. Kinda explains how he used a KO'd Garchomp to take Kiki out but does that change at all in the winning script now, like does he use a revive before he sends out Chomper? Nope, after the battle the Garchomp stays out.... Like, when you have a fainted pokemon that can still use cut outside of battle, that is pretty much what happens if you win
