Tatical Zer0
Hey guys, I literally just finished episode 9 and was wondering how could I make my team any better, I find myself struggling a lot in this game to the point where I have to take bosses on multiple times. If you could suggest anything, I would greatly appreciate it. My current team is as follows: Scrafty Lv.53 Adamant Moxie -Brick Break -HJK -Crunch -Swagger Jumpluff Lv.53 Adamant Leaf Guard -Sleep Powder -Acrobatics -Bullet Seed -Leech Seed Gardevoir Lv.53 Timid Synchronize -Psychic -Shadow Ball -Magical Leaf -Calm Mind Empoleon Lv.53 Mild Torrent -Brine -Metal Claw -Drill Peck -Aqua Jet Flygon Lv.55 Naughty Levitate -Earth Power -Dragon Claw -Crunch -Rock Slide Ninetales Lv.53(as example, I had to go all the way back to vulpix just to train it up to be able to beat Serra, I originally had a Weezing Here) Modest Drought -Flamethrower -Flame Burst(Thought would be useful vs. Serra, found out Mechanic doesn't work) -Confuse Ray -Extrasensory I was thinking along the lines of getting an Aggron, but that would ad to the Massive amount of Fighting Weaknesses. Ousawa
IMO put away jumpluff and get a magnezone.
JayDo
IMO put away jumpluff and get a magnezone. I agree, jumpluff's coverage and stats are pretty awful. Magnezone is also really easy to get, catching magnemite in the power plant, and level it up up twice in there. If you don't like Magnezone, you get Elekid and try to get the lucky one with an electrizer on it.
Khayoz
if the jumpluff had chlorophyll i wouldve kept it. works well with ninetales

Its not that I don't like magnezone its just id actually think a electivire would be a better cover up in the speed im missing from Jumpluff as opposed to magnezone, I usually find myself swept because of jumpluff, who is usually faster, missing sleep powder. Arcadian
You can find elekid at the top of the building with the 3 street rats in Beryl Ward. You can only find it in a ThunderStorm and it has a 5% chance of having the electrizer

Giving him more weaknesses to fighting/ground types (as well replace one of his members with something with a shared weakness (fire)) is what he needs! Ok, to be fair, Elekid would be decent to have. And getting a lucky one with an electrizer would be better. BUT! Getting a Magnezone would be riskier. It would make half his team weak to ground (Empoleon and Ninetales already are weak to it) and fighting (Again with Empoleon and Scrafty) I say either keep Jumpluff or get Elekid

While the ground type weakness is an issue, I mostly suggested an electric type to act as a water type counter. Because as it stands, no other members of his team fill that role other than Jumpluff, who is a sleep inducing check at best. I do see your point about synergy with the rest of his team, so magnezone, even though having way more resistances than weaknesses, still shares some key down sides. But yes. Synergy is important (especially in a game that forces you to use competitive grade strategy to be successful.) While Jumpluff's stats are garbage, there are many advantages to it. It assists Empoleon with countering ground as well as countering water. Add it's excellent assist moves in leech seed, sleep powder, and u-turn, and you get something as effective as Cottenee. (Leaf Guard is good for Jumpluff then, as sunny weather will make sure para or burn won't cripple it.)
Aizen805
There is nothing wrong with going with an underused pokemon. If you're jumpluff has done it's job and proven it's worth to you than keep it. If you feel like you'd rather go for a more offensive pokemon, then try a Simisage. I use one with Acrobatics as well as Leech seed. Not only is it nearly twice as strong and it's speed just as good, but it also will help you with most of the fighting type weaknesses you have. I also think you were kinda forced into the Ninetails because of Serra, but in my opinion you should get rid of it for a pokemon with a higher physical attack and more than just fire attacks considering you've got a good psychic user on your team. I'd recommend a Scolipede. It can learn Megahorn, which is a terrifying bug type attack as well as Toxic Spikes/Spikes, plus Iron Defense and Baton Pass. On top of all that it has retarded speed. I don't see any bug or poison type attacks on your team and I think it can help you out.
