Developers Popular Post Jan Posted October 18, 2019 Author Developers Popular Post Share Posted October 18, 2019 Hey, so it's been a while and I realize there hasn't been many updates on what's going on, so I'm writing this up to shed some light. A sort of mini Q&A. Why is development slower than usual? - TL:DR, I've been in a pretty poor spot health-wise, which has resulted in me barely working on the game. Motivation and energy are very low right now so it's hard to do more than one or two events a day. I'm trying to do as much as I can, but I ask that you be patient with me during this cycle. I'll get back into the groove of things sooner or later. Why is this thread locked? - I don't necessarily like this thread being locked, but based off previous threads eventually turning into nothing but off-topic conversations, posts that say nothing but "x% hype!!", and the occasional impatient user asking why such and such isn't out yet, I've decided that this is the best course of action, at least for now. It also makes archiving and viewing posts much easier. Even if development is slow, don't you have something to show? - So, you're right, I do have things to show, and I will admit, a downside to this thread being locked is that I don't have a reason to check it unless significant progress has been made, and as such a lot of the juicier updates are posted on my Patreon. I've neglected this thread quite a bit, and that's why I'm writing up this post right now. I have to make more of a conscious effort to update the public whenever I can. Soooooo, from now on, one week after a post has been made on Patreon, I will then update everyone on here. I have exciting things to share with you, but I don't want to just text dump after doing this mini Q&A... If you're unfamiliar with this, the Wild Area is a big and wide open space that has a variety of Pokemon based on location, and weather. Wild Area: The Reservoir: What is the Reservoir? It's a giant and wide open area that expands over time. Route 4 never had a good design because at the time, I had no idea what to do with it. One of the only areas that wasn't planned out at all. You can tell that much from just playing through it. So I transformed it into something with substance, A place you can actually do things in. What's different? Well, for one, the place is absolutely massive. One of the largest areas in the game, actually. The path to Akuwa Town is short and simple, but once you start exploring, a whole new world is opened up to you. I don't want to show the entire map, but here's a little bit of context on how big this map is: This small snip-it is only about 1/8th of the place. It's pretty empty right now as most of it isn't even evented, however, I have a lot of plans for this place. What are the benefits of being here? Nothing is set in stone as this is pretty early on, but, this is what I have in mind: Everything in the Reservoir has scaling: Levels Exp growth IV's Shiny Rate Money Gain Knowing all this is great and all, but how exactly will they scale? As of right now, the plan is to have playtime influence scalings. Although that is the plan, I am aware of how easily this can be abused. One could just afk on a new file and run into level 80 mons without even facing Valarie. Because (correct me if i am wrong) but dynamax won't be in v13, and that was how you get them in sword and shield. Maybe through that giant reservoir perhaps? What was it called? Gigantamax? Since Ep 13 will feature the new Gen 8 Pokémon, i assume it will also include all new moves, abilities and galarian forms. As much as I read posts on reddit they completely removed that and some other moves from the game and made some exclusive moves TMable (mystical fire, aura sphere etc). and changed movepools of some pokemon.... Developers Jan Posted December 10, 2019 Author Developers Share Posted December 10, 2019 I have no plans to add TR's. TM's will stay the same. The entire game (SWSH) was built around raids and getting TR's by spamming raids with friends or what have you. Since Rejuv is not built around raids, the system of TR's and the shortening of movesets for certain Pokemon should not, and will not apply here.
