CaptainNikolai
I'm trying to figure out which Pokemon will fit the last spot on my team. I have a soft spot for Serperior, as it is my favorite 5th Gen starter, but with the Contrary Ability not working and with a low Special Attack stat anyway (my plan was Leaf Storm sweeping), I'm thinking of ditching it. However, it's current moveset and its decent Attack stat does warrant it as a physical sweeper. But my Butterfree is only a few levels from learning Quiver Dance, and that'll definitely make it a force to be reckoned with. So, based on my team, who supports them better: Serperior or Butterfree?Main TeamCthulu the Omanyte@Everstone (evolution on hold until level 55)Level 40 (currently in training)Modest NatureShell ArmorMud ShotAncient PowerProtectBrineMauna Loa the Camerupt (Shiny)Level 48Rash NatureSolid RockFlamethrowerEarth PowerEarthquakeYawnDon Poe the Honchkrow@LeftoversLevel 42 (currently in training)Jolly NatureInsomniaHazeBrave BirdRoostFaint AttackSir Kibble the Gallade@Silk ScarfLevel 48Lonely NatureSteadfastRock SmashSwords DanceSlashPsycho CutU.F.O. the MagnezoneLevel 48Relaxed NatureSturdyCharge BeamMetal SoundFlash CannonDischargeFight for the Last SpotWalter the SerperiorLevel 47Serious NatureContrary (currently not working)SlamCoilLeaf BladeLeech SeedPinkberry the Butterfree (Shiny)Level 43 (am willing to train)Modest NatureCompoundeyesSleep PowderShadow BallPsybeamBug Buzz
The Radiant Aeon
Hmm.. While Serperior has its merits, Butterfree having quiver dance is far superior (heh "superior" "serperior") However, that isn't to say that skipping out on Serperior is A-OK. Physical Serperior is actually decent and that movepool is adequate (If only it learns aqua tail from move tutor. Work on that Ame!) But, if you want a special attacker (why though since you have THREE special attackers) go for Butterfree or wait until Contrary's fixed. (Again Ame..) Aizen805
Butterfree. It has tons of coverage and stat enhancing and disabling moves that make up for it's weaknesses.
Shushup
Butterfree, since Contrary will PROBABLY NOT work, due to a normal Snivy-Serperior not being able to have access to Contrary yet.
CaptainNikolai
I decided to go with Butterfree, the near-never miss Sleep Powder was too good to pass up. It helped me defeat Noel. So Serperior's on back up, especially now since I used a Heart Scale to teach Gallade Leaf Blade.
